Mr. Adam J. Kansler has been an Executive Vice President of Financial Markets at Markit Ltd. since July 12, 2016. Mr. Kansler serves as an Executive Vice President of Financial Markets at IHS Markit Ltd. Mr. Kansler served as Co-Head of Information Division and Managing Director of Markit Ltd., until April 1, 2015 and served as its Chief Administrative Officer and Head of North America Operations since 2013 to April 1, 2015. He served as an Executive Vice President, Global Head of Corporate Government & Legal Affairs and General Counsel of Markit since July 2009. Before joining Markit in 2009, he spent 17 years with Proskauer LLP as a Corporate Partner. He was a Partner at Proskauer Rose LLP. He practices in the areas of finance, corporate, internet commerce, institutional investing and investment funds, Latin America, limited liability, companies and partnerships, limited partnerships, transactions, private placements and life sciences. His practice is focused on advising private equity funds, investment banks and issuers in a variety of corporate finance transactions, including acquisitions, dispositions, equity financing and venture capital transactions. He also has extensive experience representing clients in the financial services industry. An industry expert with over 17 years of corporate law experience. In addition, his role includes corporate strategy and regulatory and government affairs. He has represented investors and issuers in connection with hundreds of investments in both private and public companies. Transactions that, Mr. Kansler has handled have included numerous acquisition, disposition and financing transactions ranging in size, including transactions over $1 billion, as well as venture capital financings, joint venture transactions and early-stage corporate structuring, for clients including Veronis Suhler Stevenson, Solera Capital, Bessemer Venture Partners, Frazier Healthcare and Technology Partners, Pequot Ventures, Zelnick Media, Sage Capital and Iroquois Capital. He also has broad experience handling general corporate matters for a number of significant clients, including public securities offerings and counseling, licensing arrangements, board counseling, regulatory compliance, internal structuring, employment and consulting arrangements and equity incentive programs. He is admitted to practice in New York since December 11, 1995. He has contributed to various articles including Winning Without A Fight: Steps For Activist Shareholders To Change Management. Mr. Kansler was recognized in the 2007 edition of US Legal 500 and was a member of the Phi Beta Kappa. He received a J.D. in 1993 from Columbia University School of Law and a B.A., magna cum laude, in 1990 from Hobart College.
