Work from home and flex schedule policies should be company wide standards and not dependent on team. We all work with teams across the business so it doesn't make sense for policies to be so fragmented. Promotional paths should also be made more clear so people do not get bogged down by corporate politics. We also have a lot of "feel good" events and free food during work hours but I would prefer this budget to be reflected in higher salaries, more time off, or office closure during the winter holiday.
I would raise the wage for employees to make more money because they are very very important to keeping the hotel running, without them the hotel wouldn't survive. I wish the owners would have more compassion towards the employees cause I have not seen that. And if you say you do have compassion, prove it. From what I seen the owners managers and so on treat there employees like slaves. I'm sorry but that exactly how I feel. It's sad.
Switching a couple people out from housekeeping and the second housekeeper manager at our hotel would make the working environment SO much nicer, better, drama free. The people in charge who aren't doing their job correctly doesn't go for a good work day.
Drop in surprise visits to hotels and call centers. To see the day to day unproductive staff and management. Security issues need to be addressed.
If I could make changes I would start by firing a couple of people.
more communication between departments
More work life balance
