Mr. Peter J. Beshar has been a General Counsel of Marsh & McLennan Companies, Inc. since November 22, 2004 and serves as its Executive Vice President. In addition to managing Marsh & Mclennan's Legal, Compliance & Public Affairs function, Mr. Beshar oversees Marsh & Mclennan's Government Relations and Risk Management groups. He served as Senior Vice President and Corporate Secretary of Marsh & McLennan Companies, Inc. since November 22, 2004. Before joining Marsh & McLennan in November 2004, Mr. Beshar was a Litigation Partner in the law firm of Gibson, Dunn & Crutcher LLP. He joined Gibson, Dunn & Crutcher LLP in 1995 after serving as an Assistant Attorney General in the New York Attorney General's office and as the Special Assistant to Cyrus Vance in connection with the peace negotiations in the former Yugoslavia. He served as the co-chair of Gibson, Dunn's Securities Litigation Group. Mr. Beshar was graduate of Yale University and Harvard Law School, he specializes in securities litigation.
