What's the internship program like at Membersuite?
There is not an internship program at Membersuite.
How does Membersuite handle HR issues?
Membersuite's work culture lends to a very lax HR environment. If something occurs at Membersuite that requires HR to intervene or meet with an employee, it is handled appropriately. However, there is a bit of a gossip problem at this company.
How innovative is Membersuite?
Membersuite's tech stack is clever, but not always necessarily in a good way. Their '4X' platform is complex and confusing, relying on an architecture devised by the original CEO, Andrew Ryan. Ask any developer on the '4X' team at Membersuite, and they'll tell you their codebase is a monstrous, confusing thing to encounter. Recently, there was a '5X' web-based (Angular) overhaul completed, but the success of this project has yet to be seen.
How does Membersuite measure success and growth in the Engineering department?
Customer retention plays a strong role. Constantly, the Engineering team finds themselves at odds with their customer base, with reactionary responses to associations threatening to drop Membersuite if a specific change or fix is not made. Unfortunately, it's very difficult for Membersuite to keep their customers happy because the implementation time for their AMS is extremely long. There have been initiatives to shorten this implementation, but these have largely fallen by the wayside to accommodate other projects to keep customers happy in other aspects.
What skills do you need to be successful in the Engineering department at Membersuite?
Strong C#/.NET experience, ability to multitask, Anxiety/Stress management
Why work for Membersuite?
Peers are generally nice people, and the engineers hired are competent (for the most part).
How are layoffs handled in the Engineering department at Membersuite?
Upon the heels of a "No Surprises" initiative, Membersuite recently laid off 30 employees, mostly in the Engineering department. This came as quite a surprise, and a large portion of those laid off were members of a team in charge of a recently released system overhaul. This left a vacuum of product and developer knowledge from which the remaining developers were left to pick up the pieces.
