Come as you are, do what you love - that's literally the invitation Microsoft Hr is giving to candidates. If you want to wear a hoodie, wear it! If you want to wear a shirt, wear it! Flip flops or a Gothic costume? Wear it! What matters are your skills, your passion and potential. If you got those, you're likely to get the job.
While dress is casual at Microsoft, you should always show up looking your best for an interview. Avoid jeans, t-shirts, etc. Your shirt, pants, dress, skirt, etc. should be pressed. Unless you're applying for a job in sales, (which requires formal business attire), aim for stylish business casual. Above all else, wear something that makes you feel confident.
Most positions within Microsoft , you should wear nice business wear. typically you dress slightly better for the interview than you will day to day. Microsoft is no different. There are sales jobs where you would be wearing suits and so you would want a suit for those jobs.
Depends on the position I guess...I personally feel that anyone who wears less than a suit to an interview is not making the best impression, but Microsoft's attitude towards dress code is super relaxed. How badly do you want the job?
I wore jeans with a blouse and sweater. I got the job. I saw people wearing sweatpants and people in suits. They really don't care what you wear so be comfortable.
If you are interviewing for an engineering role, no one cares how you dress. I showed up wearing jeans and a t-shirt and got the job.
Casual and feel comfortable. No one should worry about the dress code. I went with casual dress for my .interview
Casual. Don't wear a suit unless you're in Marketing or Upper Management.
Walk the thin line between an irrelevant suit and slovenly jeans.
Just be comfortable with what you are wearing. Use common sense.
