Mr. Jeffrey Barry Ptak, also known as Jeff, CFA, serves as a Global Head of Manager Research at Morningstar Inc., Research Division since 2nd February 2015. He serves as the President & Chief Investment Officer at Morningstar Inc. Prior to this, Mr. Ptak served as the President and Chief Investment Officer at Morningstar Investment Services, Inc. from February 2009 to 2015. Mr. Ptak served as the Chief Investment Officer since February 2009. Prior to this, he was a Director of Exchange-Traded Securities Analysis at Morningstar, Inc. Mr. Ptak also served as an Editor of Morningstar ETFInvestor. From 2006 to 2007, he was a Stock Analyst in Morningstar's equity research department, where he covered the asset management and asset servicing industries. He rejoined the firm and had previously served as a Senior Analyst in Morningstar's mutual fund research department in 2002. Before rejoining the firm, from 2005 to 2006, Mr. Ptak was an Investment Products Analyst at William Blair & Company. He was a Senior Analyst of Morningstar OBSR since 2002. Prior to that, he was a Manager in Arthur Andersen's national office. Mr. Ptak is a C.F.A. charter holder and also holds the C.P.A. designation. He holds a Bachelor's degree in Accounting from the University of Wisconsin, Madison.
