Mr. Thomas M. Idzorek, also known as Tom, CPA, CFA, serves Head of Economic Research at Morningstar Inc., Research Division since February 2015. Mr. Idzorek has been Head of Investment Methodology and Economic Research at Morningstar Inc. since February 2, 2015. He is a leading expert on strategic and tactical asset allocation. Mr. Idzorek has expertise in lifetime asset allocation, target-date funds, retirement income solutions, fund-of-funds optimization, risk budgeting and performance analysis. He joined Morningstar when it acquired Ibbotson Associates in 2006. Mr. Idzorek previously served as the President of Morningstar Investment Management at Morningstar Inc. from 2013 to February 2015 and its Chief Investment Officer of Investment Management from 2006 to May 2012 and Research Director of Investment Management division. He served as the President at Morningstar Investment Services, Inc. Mr. Idzorek was responsible for investment advisory, retirement solutions and investment management operations in North America, Europe, Asia and Australia. Prior to Morningstar Inc., he served as the Director of Research at Ibbotson Associates, Inc. since March 2005. Prior to joining Ibbotson, Mr. Idzorek served as a Senior Quantitative Analyst and Researcher at Zephyr Associates, Inc. While at Zephyr, he developed and researched financial models and techniques for inclusion in its institutional portfolio analytic software. Mr. Idzorek has applied his research to the development of advanced portfolio optimizers and style analysis/performance attribution software. He has authored numerous articles on asset allocation and investing topics for academic and industry journals and collaborated on papers selected by the CFA Institute Financial Analysts Journal (FAJ) for the prestigious Graham and Dodd Scroll Awards. Mr. Idzorek is a CFA charter holder and has a CPA certification. He received his MBA from the Thunderbird School of Global Management and a Bachelor's Degree in Marketing from Arizona State University.
