Kari Heerdt — Senior VP & Chief People Officer at MSC Industrial Direct

Ms. Kari D. Heerdt has been the Chief People Officer of MSC Industrial Direct Co. Inc. since August 2014 and serves as its Senior Vice President. Ms. Heerdt is responsible for overseeing the people strategy and all aspects of MSC's associate relations, community relations and human resources function. A talented and experienced HR executive, Ms. Heerdt has more than 20 years of experience in implementing and overseeing human resources strategies and talent management solutions for a broad range of industries and companies. She served as a Senior Vice President of Human Resources at Grifols Therapeutics, Inc. (formerly Talecris Biotherapeutics, Inc.). Ms. Heerdt served as a Partner at Aon Hewitt, where she oversaw one of the largest client relationships. Ms. Heerdt served as a Senior Vice President of Human Resources at Talecris Biotherapeutics Holdings Corp. since January 2008. Ms. Heerdt was responsible for managing Talecris??? Human Resources systems, programs and policies including employee recruitment, retention, compensation and benefits as well as organizational and leadership development. She is a seasoned Human Resources Executive with more than 20 years of related management and consulting experience. Prior to joining Talecris, Ms. Heerdt served as Senior Vice President, Human Resources for Mervyn's LLC from April 2005 until January 2008. She served as a Senior Manager for Cerberus Capital Management and as a Senior Consultant for Hewitt Associates. She held various Human Resources leadership positions within General Electric. She is also an active member of the Society for Human Resource Management as well as the alumni associations for Mount Holyoke College and Purdue University. Ms. Heerdt earned a Bachelor of Arts degree from Mount Holyoke College in South Hadley, Massachusetts and a Master of Science Degree from the Krannert Graduate School of Management at Purdue University in West Lafayette, Indiana.
