Nextdoor Compensation Employee Reviews

What is the best part about your compensation package?

the comp package is average, and under-estimates the dreadful state of the ads tools and ad stack.

Review from Sales Dept

Base salary is very good

Review from Engineering Dept

Health care & dental plan

Review from Sales Dept

I like that it gets reviewed and assessed yearly for optimizations

Review from Sales Dept

I am pleased with my equity package

Review from HR Dept

i like the health insurance

Review from Customer Support Dept

Compt wellness benefit, Urban Sitter benefit

Review from Engineering Dept

I appreciate the uncapped income opportunity.

cash part is pretty good

Review from Engineering Dept

Having equity is motivating in terms of thinking about how to make the product better.

Review from Engineering Dept

It seems like we have really great health benefits because my therapist is shockingly affordable and whenever I require a prescription drug, its fairly inexpensive as well. I REALLY appreciate benefits like that and it definitely makes me a happier employee.

Review from Sales Dept

good PTO policy, once-a-week lunches in office, fitness stipend

Review from Engineering Dept

HSA with low employee premium cost plus employer contribution

Review from Engineering Dept

Quarterly vesting cadence delivers value regularly. ESPP is generous.

Review from HR Dept

Base salary decently in line with market for size of company.

Review from Legal Dept

The best part about my compensation package is my salary

Review from Legal Dept

salary plsu that i get RSUs

Review from Finance Dept

The combination of salary + shares

Review from Communications Dept

I like that RSUs quarterly vesting begins immediately

Review from Communications Dept

We have great benefits and extras like gym reimbursement, onemedical, etc.

Review from Sales Dept

Why do you feel undervalued and what would make you feel better about your compensation?

Comp is low (cash & eq), under leveled (system is opaque), intentionally ambiguous titling framework

INTL teams are spread thin in some areas and when someone leaves we do not get replacements or maternity cover thus having to take on those people's workloads more and more without compensation and without consideration to what that would do to workload and mental workload (aka. burnout)

Review from Customer Success Dept

It's just the equity compensation I feel a little cheated by. I joined pre-IPO and unfortunately the company's stock has fallen a lot since the IPO. My equity value was kinda pegged to that IPO price, and now I'm earning a fraction of that while I'm sure new hires are getting much more equity.

Review from Engineering Dept

I would just like to make more money.

Review from Sales Dept

I pay is behind that of the other social brands we are competing against. Basic salary could be increased to bring us in line with competitors. More benefits like: contribution to travel, better gym benefits, salary sacrifice scheme for electric vehicles

Review from Sales Dept

There is a very high visibility economic struggle right now, and I haven't once been approached about a raise or even a cost of living increase. It's below market value and I think it's only fair to give everyone that cost of living increase if not annually realign salaries with market value.

Review from Operations Dept

Sliding pay scaled based on geography should be eliminated or smaller gaps.

Review from Engineering Dept

Pay is lower than competitors and stock awards are quite stingy

Review from Product Dept

There is no room for growth. You say we can grow here but there is a lack of opportunity for it, then you provide a average raise and expect us to be happy with it. Also, there is no more development stipend, which was taken away without much notice. You expect professionals to grow with just LIL?

Review from Finance Dept

If I leave, I know my replacement will get paid 50% more

Review from Engineering Dept

Based on my experience and market value for the position I am in, I am dissatisfied with my base salary. Increasing my base by 20% would change my opinion

I think there are a lot of competitive offers out there for top engineering talent that we don't do enough to match with. It would be great if our total compensation increased to remain competitive even with the current market conditions.

Review from Engineering Dept

I have been at the company for years now, yet i see new hires making more income than me due to stock drop and my comp has not been adjusted for my level vs what i can get from other companies.

Review from Engineering Dept

Majority of the company is underwater with their equity, we are all working for cash now. And our cash comp is not competitive. Nextdoor is a great company and the people are great, but compensation is pretty bad.

Review from Engineering Dept

its insulting to have gone three years with 0 raise and no one seems to care or do anything about it

Review from Sales Dept

Comp is good on paper, but such a small % of reps actually hit their goals, so "on paper" is where it ends. Leadership also does not recognize folks who go above and beyond. They just want robots.

Review from Sales Dept

Meeting the industry standard - Nextdoor historically underpays compared to other companies

Review from Communications Dept

Since I feel that my work is overlooked.

Review from Engineering Dept

not competitively paid - need a raise

Review from Operations Dept

The compensation varies wildly based on the date one joined Nextdoor.
