Executive Bio

Mr. Robert W. Knapp, Jr., has been the Chief Operating Officer at NIC Inc. since January 30, 2012 and served as its Executive Vice President since January 2009. Mr. Knapp maintains oversight of portal operations but also leverage his extensive knowledge of the portal business to contribute to the development of strategic company-wide growth initiatives. He joined NIC in 1999 and served as Director of Marketing and Portal Operations for Indiana Interactive, NIC's subsidiary that manages Indiana's official state portal. In 2000, Mr. Knapp was promoted to General Manager of Kansas Information Consortium, which runs the state of Kansas official state portal. He also served as Territory Sales Manager for delivery solutions and was responsible for selling technology solutions to new and existing accounts. He has a 9-year history with NIC's portal business and served as General Manager, Regional Manager and Vice President of Portal Operations. Prior to NIC, he served as Director of Information Systems at ALLTEL, where he managed large bank relationships and was responsible for the account relationship, revenue growth, renewal of contracts and cross-selling of services. Mr. Knapp holds a B.S. in Business and a Masters in Business Administration from the University of Tulsa.
