Michael Radu — Executive Vice President of Clinical Operations & Business Development at WellCare Health Plans

Mr. Michael Radu, also known as Mike, has been Executive Vice President of Clinical Operations and Business Development at WellCare Health Plans, Inc. since October 2016 and served as its Senior Vice President of Clinical Operations and Business Development since August 31, 2015 until October 2016. Mr. Radu provides executive leadership over a new structure that combines clinical services, pharmacy and business development. He is responsible for delivering operational excellence in support of effective and efficient coordination of care to best meet member needs and for helping to drive the WellCare's strategic growth efforts. He served as the chief executive officer of Health Essentials and has more than 25 years of experience in the managed care industry including Medicaid and Medicare, medical group administration, business development, operations and state public affairs at companies including UnitedHealthcare, Lifemark and Optum. Mr. Radu earned his bachelor's degree in Psychology from the University of California, Los Angeles (UCLA) and holds an MBA in finance from the University of Southern California (USC) Marshall School of Business.
