A proven leader, Matt has served as Oportun’s chief operations officer since 2016 and general manager for the personal loan business since 2018. Before joining Oportun, he led global consumer operations for Citi, topping off a 17-year tenure. Previously, he worked with the cardmember service team of Bank One (formerly First USA). Matt also served in the United States Army as an intelligence analyst and worked for the National Security Agency as a Spanish linguist. Matt is happiest when he’s combining his greatest passions, family and football, as a coach.
