Overstock.com Compensation Employee Reviews

What is the best part about your compensation package?

I really enjoy extra bonuses from the financial company Acima.

I really enjoy how when one of my customers gets approved for Acima, I also receive a bonus through them.

Competitive with the local Market

Stock health plan time off

9/80 work schedule and commitment to promote work / life balance

Review from Customer Support Dept

Fitness center, Health clinic, Daycare and Greenhouse. These are amazing extras besides our great and affordable healthcare, dental and vision benefits.

Review from Admin Dept

The benefits are some of the most generous available. The company also pays close attention to equal pay by gender and adjusts when necessary. They communicate how to improve your role in the company, thereby increasing your pay and bonus.

Review from Admin Dept

Gold and SIlver investments are built into the investments and managers and higher have stock options.

Review from Customer Support Dept

The incentive programs to the agent

Review from Product Dept

401k match up to 6% and convenient on-site affordable health clinic

The company has great employee benefits including on-site clinic, on-site daycare, on-site fitness center & basketball court, good health insurance coverage, flex-time schedule capabilities (depending on team), on-site cafe, 4 weeks of paid parental leave, and a lot more.

Review from Product Dept

My salary is the best part.

Review from Customer Support Dept

i would love to have more stock market options other than gold and silver im under 21 and cannot have a 401K

Review from Customer Support Dept

RSUs are a nice benefit

Review from IT Dept

The amount of benefits that are available to us. How diverse the options.

That we get to choose how we get compensated.

Review from HR Dept

I really enjoy the 9/80 plan where we have everyother Friday off. This is amazing when you enjoy traveling frequently and extended weekends! I also like the PTO, fitness center, and massage center.

Review from HR Dept

all of it - health care center & gold

Compensation is deeply comprehensive. There's also a great amount of detail put into the culture and day-to-day life here which I see as a form of compensation.

Review from HR Dept

The 6% 401k match with no vesting period and onsite clinic.

Why do you feel undervalued and what would make you feel better about your compensation?

Company poorly run always cutting corners

Pay market wages or even just pay within their own pay bands.

I am paid below the pay band and have brought this to the attention of management with a promise of an upcoming promotion.

Review from HR Dept

A raise that would allow for the cost of living.

Overstock has always undervalued their employees. They try to convince employees they are paying market vaue or above but one look at the market tells a very different story.

No suitable methods were given to resolve the issue Give ample time, suggest a more suitable and appropriate way to resolve the issue or problem

Was treated poorly and the compensation is not worth all of the suffering and terrible management.

Review from Customer Support Dept

My whole team has worked very hard with limited resources for multiple years with no pay raises or bonuses. Blockchain employees get perks, pay, and bonuses left and right, while the piggy bank (retail side) does the work to fund them with no reward.

The company laid off 200 people, then gave an executive a half million dollar bonus. Meanwhile, most people are making less than industry standard. Executives are so well paid, it "evens out" to above market rate, but low level employees do not make fair money.

Review from IT Dept

The company seldom pays bonuses and gives minimal raises, often foregoing raises.

Review from Marketing Dept

I don't feel undervalued at all, but I do think our equity options could be better.

Review from HR Dept

I feel valued as an employee but our managers should go through a manager taining before given a management position. There should be clear goals, clear visions, and good communication across the executive staff.

Review from HR Dept

I'd like to have more stock options. Better PTO as well.

Review from Business Development Dept

We need to align more of the company around merit based incentives and performance...with the overall company performance.

The pay should be equal to other companies

Review from Customer Support Dept

increased base salary and more robust bonus system

Review from HR Dept

There are no raises in customer care unless you move up. If you you don’t want to leave customer care you will never get a raise

Review from Customer Support Dept

There is an effort to pay employees fairly and competitively. However, there is also an influence from Directors and above to bend the rules for those they like or referrals they bring in. For example, creating/changing a job solely to bump compensation or make an hourly employee salary.
