How common are layoffs at Overstock.com?
Top Employee Response
Great question - Layoffs are happening as I type. They hire brothers, friends and family members of senior leadership, pay them hefty without looking at their contribution and expect employees to dance around on their stupid non-sensical strategy & decisions. Trimming the fat should happen at the leadership level before they get to lower layer. Sad to see a brand dying with incumbent leadership.
They have had two major layoffs since January. Pathetic
Layoffs happen every year at every company. The thing about layoffs that people always fail to mention is that they're typically based on performance. No one lays off A players. Like literally any other company, don't do a bad job, and you won't get laid off.

Great. We get students to intern for long periods of time & occasionally hired on full-time.
The internship program is a cut above the rest. Not only is it an internship, but also a mentorship. The company cares about the future of its interns and wants to help them achieve their goals.
