Work as a bedside RN in a very high acuity floor. In a perfect world we would be staffed for acuity, not shear patient numbers. I love my coworkers and the general atmosphere at Penn Medicine. Day-in-day-out, it is a very physically and mentally draining job. We need more support.

Given an interview, though I had to followup to make it happen in a quicker fashion.
What makes you most happy at work?
Giving top notch care and attention to detail. Acknowledgement from peers. Making a difference in people's lives.
What is the best part about your compensation package?
Just received a market analysis increase of 10% but cost of living went up 40%. Hope we get a larger raise this coming year.
What needs to change to make the company culture better?
Make my job easier, give us more staff based on acuity, and workflows more convenient. Shouldn't have to go to 3 places to get an IV hung. There's lots of burn out across the board that is just chalked up as the new normal.
