What's one thing you wish you'd known before joining Pepsi Bottling?
That they were offering me about 70% of what they should have.
bad treatment of its employees
What's the best part of your job at Pepsi Bottling?
Being able to walk around
Being out and about.
What's the vibe like in the Admin dept at Pepsi Bottling? How many hours are you working?
45-50/week, everyone thinks they’re doing the most important thing that takes priority, so stand your ground.
How challenged are you at Pepsi Bottling?
Depends on the amount of patience you have. If you’re not very patient it will be a daily struggle. If you are, you’ll be bored often.
How difficult is it to maintain a social life while in your job at Pepsi Bottling?
No, a lot of the guys were buddies outside of work.
How can I improve my chances of being hired at Pepsi Bottling?
Show up 10 mins early, look prepared, be friendly and confident, ask questions-never say you have no questions. The winners always ask and engage in a conversation they are leading. Makes you memorable. But don’t be cocky.
How long do the interviews usually take at Pepsi Bottling?
30 mins-1 hr.
How would you compare interviewing at Pepsi Bottling to other places you've interviewed?
Pretty standard- out of a textbook, literally, for the most part.
What should I wear for an interview at Pepsi Bottling?
Khakis, slacks, dress shoes/heels and a button up shirt or blouse that is business appropriate. A tie is a bit much, the everyday dress in the office is polo-type collared shirts with Pepsi logos and khakis or even nice jeans occasionally, so a step above that is safe. No suits, just clean-cut, tidy, professional. Not too much makeup, perfume, or tight clothes. If you get too much attention from the drivers or other crew, the boss may view you as a distraction that the guys don’t need.
What's the work from home policy like at Pepsi Bottling?
Pretty non-exsistant. Unless you’re fairly high up and do a bit of traveling between plants, then you probably have a little you can do from home or from your hotel away from home. Once you start and get organized though, there’s not much need to take your work home. You’ll probably have a company phone that will keep you busy and you can check your emails if you need to but there’s a pretty set routine so you can usually plan in advance or plan to catch up if needed.
What Admin department questions did Pepsi Bottling ask during your job interview?
Examples of major projects I’d worked on, how many people I supervised directly and through subordinates, experiences with certain hr software, knowledge of equal opportunity, sexual complaint, procedures and examples I’d dealt with.
What kind of interview questions do they ask when hiring someone in the Admin department at Pepsi Bottling?
Strengths, weaknesses, why are you leaving where you’re at or been, why Pepsi, tell me about a time....(you found an accounting error, you didn’t like an employee, you felt conflicted at work, you made an error that affected others, questions about prioritizing daily tasks, planning, experiences.
How flexible is your work schedule at Pepsi Bottling?
As long as you have everything done and up to date, and as long as someone is there to cover the phones, you’re good. Make arrangements in advance, and you can usually cover for one another.
What does the ideal candidate in the Admin department look like at Pepsi Bottling?
It’s pretty monotonous work. You just need to be extremely organized, punctual detail oriented, able to talk with authority and confidence on every topic from CDLs to EEO to HMO. Be good at excel, word, etc. and have a bit of finance knowledge like basic budget and accounting. Be able to handle everything calmly ie if a driver has an accident, you are getting griped at because no one has filled a machine in weeks, or the merchandiser at a store made unwanted advancements towards one of their employees.
How helpful was your Admin team when you were first hired at Pepsi Bottling?
Being as I was hired into the admin world, they were quite helpful. And I would say 95% of the time, everything I saw indicated they were all very professional and onboarded new staff quickly and efficiently so there would be no delay in pay and benefits. That being said, much of the admin job depends on direction from the GM or SS signing off or giving approval, turning in certain paperwork on time, etc. I advise each person to be their own advocate and never assume something got done unless you did it yourself. If you have a question, ask. If you’re check depends on a corrected time sheet, make sure it was received-before the deadline. There’s likely 30-60 people for every admin, and as organized and ocd as we all are, we can’t look for what we don’t know exists. No admin would mind a simple post-it on the door Monday morning if it means no paycheck corrections on Wednesday afternoon.
