Executive Bio

Mr. Hugh F. Johnston has been the Chief Financial Officer and Executive Vice President of PepsiCo, Inc. since March 2010 and its Vice Chairman since July 8, 2015. Mr. Johnston is responsible for providing strategic financial leadership; ensuring PepsiCo's capital structure, financial systems and controls; and forecasting models. As a Member of the executive leadership team at Pepsico, Mr. Johnston also builds financial infrastructure, oversees risk management and upholds its finance and accounting policies and procedures. He joined PepsiCo in 1987 and served a number of increasing leadership roles, including Senior Vice President of Transformation from 2005 to 2006 and Senior Vice President of Mergers and Acquisitions since 2002. He served as the Chief Operating Officer of PepsiCo, Inc. since October 2006 and served as its Executive Vice President of Information Technology & Global Procurement since September 2006. He served as Executive Vice President of Global Operations at Pepsico, Inc. from November 2009 to 2010 and served as its Executive Vice President of Operations from October 2006 to November 2007. He served as President of Pepsi-Cola North America Beverages at Pepsico, Inc. from November 2007 to 2009. He left PepsiCo from August 1999 to March 2002 to pursue a general management role as Vice President, Retail at Merck Medco, leading its retail pharmacy card business. He served as Vice Chairman at The American Beverage Association until April 28, 2010. He has been a Director of Microsoft Corporation since September 19, 2017. He serves as Director of AOL Inc. He served as a Director of Twitter, Inc. from April 6, 2016 to October 1, 2017. He serves as a Director for the Peterson Institute for International Economics, on the University of Chicago's Booth School CFO Advisory Board and on Syracuse University's Whitman School of Management Advisory council. Mr. Johnston served as an Independent Director at Oath Inc. from October 2012 to June 2015. He served as a Director of The Pepsi Bottling Group, Inc. from May 2007 to November 2007. He holds MBA in Finance and Accounting from the University of Chicago and a Bachelor's of Science degree in Finance from the Syracuse University.
