Unlimited paid vacation; not much official approval required as long as you give your manager a heads up in advance and don't abuse it or take off for long periods at particularly busy times.

  • Unlimited vacation days. Most people take many days off because it’s encouraged.

  • Unlimited vacation! I know there's a fear out there that people at unlimited vacation companies actually take less time because it's discouraged day-to-day, but that hasn't been my experience at all. People take good long vacations here, and are encouraged to do so!

  • Growing company that values their employees. Very flexible schedules.

  • Superb. Because Pinterest is all about designing your life, folks really are encouraged to make the time to have a life. I work staggered hours to accommodate my childcare situation, for example. Unlimited vacation time also helps.

  • This is a mystery. The process isn’t defined and it’s impossible to know when or if you’re eligible for a promotion.

  • The process is different for eng and non-eng. Engineering has a self-nomination process, I think; non-eng has a manager-nomination process. For non-eng, you have to be performing steadily at the next level above your current one to receive a promotion; things move at about an average pace, I'd say. Levels aren't transparent in most orgs, though, so it can be a little difficult to benchmark.

  • Spotty. There’s an internal feedback tool that is used sometimes. Feedback is really dependent upon your manager. My manager was very poor at delivering or taking feedback. If you get a bad actor as your manager, prepare to be in the dark about your performance.
