Its fair. Better than most
The new career framework created a total mess on levels of different employees. Can you imagine putting employees to certain levels even without expectation clarified?
Myself and dozens of others on my team and in other orgs have gone to HR to explicitly talk about how and why it's a boys club and within weeks these people have either been fired, publically shamed, or put on development plans and ended up quitting. It's no secret that nothing is going to get fixed

Stop promoting people just because they've been at the company since the beginning. Promote a meritocracy.

Almost half of our engineers don't see themselves working at Pinterest in 12 months. This number has been getting progressively worse and nobody in the C-suite seems to be doing anything about it.
Hard to compete with Google/Facebook for talent, so we end up with B-talent and have a hard time competing/executing.
