What do you like best about the leadership team?
It's clear they care about individual contributors and work hard to ensure feedback is seriously taken into account.
The leadership team is reasonably transparent regarding successes, challenges, and future endeavors. They are experienced in leadership roles and care deeply about the individuals they oversee.

Leadership is extremely transparent about the financial health of the company, which goes a long way in instilling confidence and trust.
They do their best to problem-solve for people before they focus on business needs. For example, the leadership team monitors the workload for each employee to determine when someone is at risk of burnout. They then preemptively help that employee get some rest,

My direct reports are thoughtful, considerate, curious, kind, and effective in their work. It makes my job as a manager very straightforward and enjoyable.

What is most positive about the culture and environment at your company?
Portent is a place that respects your autonomy and free time. The work structure is set up to not overburden you but to give you the opportunity to do your best work, showcase your ideas without judgment, and prioritize your life outside of work.

It's very inclusive and fairly laid back. We have an engagement committee that organizes fun and unique activities for everyone.
We really hype each other up. Praise is frequent and habitual.
We genuinely care about each other as people. We're encouraged to put our personal mental and physical well-being first. We consistently call out the successes of our co-workers and teammates as well.

I liked meeting a variety of people across different teams during my panel interview, as well as getting to talk to my manager and director in separate interviews.

There wasn't a code test, I was asked thoughtful questions and was allowed to ask my questions.
It was friendly and supportive. There weren't any trick questions. It was an open conversation where I could show up well.
