Steven Roberts — Chief Strategy & Business Development Officer at PRA Group

Mr. Steven C. Roberts, also known as Steve, has been Chief Strategy and Business Development Officer of PRA Group, Inc. (Formerly known as Portfolio Recovery Associates, Inc.) since 2015. Mr. Roberts served as President of Business & Government Services at PRA Group, Inc. from December 2012 to 2015. Mr. Roberts directs PRA's U.S. fee-based businesses focused on state and local governments, auto lenders, law enforcement, institutional investors, manufacturers and retailers. He has more than 25 years of experience in marketing, operations, global manufacturing and commercial banking. He founded ShopText, Inc. in 2005 and served as its Chief Executive Officer and President. Mr. Roberts was a General Partner at RockRidge Capital Partners, Inc. He served as Chief Financial Officer of Accretive Commerce, Inc. Mr. Roberts served as Chief Operating Officer of McCann Erickson's $200 million relationship marketing company MRM Partners and Chief Financial Officer at McCann's $650 million marketing services companies. Prior to his experience at MRM/McCann, he served as Chief Financial Officer of NewRoads, Inc. (Now known as Accretive Commerce, Inc) and Modem Media (acquired by Digitas in 2004). He served as Chief Operating Officer of MRM Worldwide, Inc. He served as Vice President of International Operations and Chief Operating Officer of the Relationship Technology Group. At United Technologies (UTC), Mr. Roberts served as a Vice President of Carrier Transicold's Global Transportation Group, where he doubled revenue to $150 million via acquisition and restored profitability. Mr. Roberts served as Divisional Vice President at United Technologies. He held P&L responsibilities at United Technologies' Otis Elevator and Carrier Air Conditioning units in Asia and the U.S. He led the creation of several new business ventures at UTC divisions, including being a Founding Manager of the Otis Elevator Business Unit at a $20 million green field start-up (in Penang, Malaysia) and establishing a composite propeller blade joint venture between UTC's Hamilton Standard and Ratier-Figeac. Prior to joining UTC in 1990, he served as the Second Vice President of Corporate Finance at Continental Bank (now Bank of America), where he structured senior and subordinated debt financing for radio, paging, cable and newspaper acquisitions and leveraged buyouts. He served as a Director of ShopText, Inc. He has an MBA degree in Finance & Production from the University of Chicago and a BA degree in Economics from the Middlebury College.
