He has been a Director of Cavalier Homes, Inc. since February 2009. He served as a Director of Media General, Inc. from April 2010 to April 24, 2014. He is designated as a Certified Financial Analyst by the CFA Institute. He is a member of St. Luke's Episcopal Church, the Rotary Club of Birmingham, the American Council of Life Insurers and the Newcomen Society of the United States. Mr. Thigpen received a Bachelor of Science degree from Auburn University in 1978 and a Master of Business Administration from Samford University in 1984.
