Providence Health & Services is a non-profit hospital and healthcare company that was founded in 1859. It operates hospitals, long-term care facilities, hospice and home health programs, housing units, and physician clinics. Its hospitals, nursing homes, and clinics are located in Alaska, California, Montana, Oregon, and Washington. It has its headquartered in Washington, United States. The Corporate Development team of the company generally acquires hospitals and care centers to expand its clinical capabilities and home based services with the addition of other operations. It acquires those companies or hospitals which will add a new growth vertical for Providence which is complementary to its current business lines and leverages its core competencies. It is looking forward to acquire those companies which will give it access to the Medicare advantage market which is currently experiencing rapid growth due to an expanding senior population.
