I cannot begin to express how frustrating it has been as a Cashier who **loves** my customers and serving the public, as I have built some wonderful relationships with them, along with coworkers, and they always look forward to seeing my smiling face — only to be envied, resented, and abused by upper management (all females and I'm a female) who try to belittle me, cut my hours, want to see me fail, etc. I cannot stand the fact that I know I have a phenomenal work ethic, outgoing personality, and excellent customer rapport, only to discover that there is ZERO support, appreciation or care/concern from anyone at the top when it comes down to realizing a person's value/worth. As far as I'm concerned, management can kiss my a**!!!!!!! Publix sucks!
Personally, I lived there. There was no balance as a manager. Go to work at 4 or 5am. MAYBE go home, by 5 -7pm. Sometimes be there 4 or 5 hours later. Then have to be back at 4 or 5am to start it over again. Only reprieve was the vacation weeks I had accrued. MANY days that I never saw my children. And I was not going to answer my phone on vacation. No way.
Terrible! There is no work-life balance at Publix. Your schedule is all over the place (opening, closing, midshift, etc), and you end up missing out on family events, special occasions, most holidays, etc. More and more, this place has gone downhill like so many corporations and I feel like nothing more than a "replaceable number" after working there. Such a shame!!
There is no work life balance. You leave work exhausted and sore to go home and have absolutely no energy to be efficient with family. Only to wake up and do it again the next day. When we finally do get a day off its spent catching up from exhaustion.
the Front end manager is not a very fair person. He keeps hiring new employees and cutting the employees that have been there for years that need the hours and days and he gives that to the new hires.
You're not hardly a number. Treated with so little respect. You try to be the best you can and are treated like garbage. Desperate for a new job.
Management routinely works 12-14 hour days 5-6 days a week. The work life balance isn't great for those with families, at least in management.
The corporate offices work diligently to help their associates to maintain a health work life balance.
Management is supportive of employee needs.
Awful!
