There is no work life balance. You leave work exhausted and sore to go home and have absolutely no energy to be efficient with family. Only to wake up and do it again the next day. When we finally do get a day off its spent catching up from exhaustion.

  • Awful!

  • Personally, I lived there. There was no balance as a manager. Go to work at 4 or 5am. MAYBE go home, by 5 -7pm. Sometimes be there 4 or 5 hours later. Then have to be back at 4 or 5am to start it over again. Only reprieve was the vacation weeks I had accrued. MANY days that I never saw my children. And I was not going to answer my phone on vacation. No way.

They do provide benefits but you have to work certain amount of hours to receive them and it seems that they kind of make sure you don’t get that far.

  • Health care. (below par) Dental care. (hardly worth the premiums) ESOP plan (average, to above average) 401k (slightly below average) Up to 4 weeks vacation Bonuses for all associates. Full time are very modest. Management, especially dept. heads and store mgnt. could be significant, although it is my opinion that they are on the path to eventually eliminating bonuses. They had already reduced them once, maybe twice if I remember correctly. Doing this I little bites I would imagine, so as to not drive associates(especially management) towards unionization. A future that seems to be gaining more traction and inevitability, with the slow decline of benefits. The founder and his children, seemed to be hard working, smart and caring people. They really took care of the the loyal people that took care of them. The grandchildren, Harvard Business educated, have no HR skills whatsoever. In fact, half of the board of directors are now paid professionals in THAT job only! NOT a good thing!

  • It all depends on if you're part-time or full-time. From my experience, I've noticed that they try to do everything possible to keep employees PT (but work them FT hours!) so that they don't have to pay for benefits. At some point, this will become a problem, in which the employee will complain to management, nothing will get done, and the employee will end up quitting. It's not a good way to treat great employees! That's for sure!!

when cutting hours from employees that have been in the company for years to hire new employees is sooo wrong!!!! They so need to fix that.

  • Better training in customer service. Sitting someone in a room to watch videos for over 8 hours is really poor training

  • Go back to the days where they appreciated their hardest working employees. Give the people their bonuses back.

Bad. Having a lot of high school age kids working, with no work ethic, and college kids that would rather be studying doesn’t make for good customer service

  • Poor

  • I could not agree more! Having the wrong people in Management positions who lack leadership skills + compassion, plus this younger generation of workers who don't want to work, but instead, want to play on their phones and talk back to authority is disgusting! I can't believe the level of disrespect this new generation has proven time and time again!! Advice to Publix: Hire those who are respectful to authority, have a maturity about them, want to learn, are willing to learn/grow, and are able to communicate properly (instead of texting).

  • We are proud to have him as our CEO.Right now he is helping with disaster relief from hurricane Micheal

  • Most people don't know the ceo at all and only care about their position at work.

It’s hard to say it depends on the managers and workers if they are easy and fair to work with

  • Because from the outside, it looks great, but many times, it's a different story once you're employed there! Learn from observation. Ask questions. Pay attention to the cycle of having a high turnover rate (as my store did). That usually says something about the people at the top/poor management/lack of leadership.

  • Friendly staff, supportive managers, fair pay

  • record every conversation when called to HR, if theres another manager in the room it means they are there because they are recording you without your knowledge, that extra manager is the consenting party to be recorded so they dont have to tell you anything, But that consent is for everyone to record, even you. Know your rights when dealing with this company is all i gotta say.
