Mr. Jonathan E. Michael, also known as Jon, has been the Chief Executive Officer of RLI Corp. since January 1, 2001. Mr. Michael serves as the Chairman and Chief Executive Officer of RLI Insurance Company, Inc. and its subsidiaries Mt. Hawley Insurance Company, RLI Indemnity Company and Contractors Bonding and Insurance Company (known as principal insurance subsidiaries). He served as President of RLI Corp. from January 1, 2001 to November 20, 2015. He joined RLI Corp. in 1982 and has held various managerial and executive officer positions, including Chief Operating Officer, Executive Vice President and Chief Financial Officer. Prior to 1982, he was associated with Coopers & Lybrand LLP. He has been the Chairman at RLI Corp. since May 5, 2011 and its Director since 1997. He serves as Vice Chairman of Property Casualty Insurers Association of America. He has been a Director of SS&C Technologies Holdings, Inc. since April 2010. He serves as a Member of the Board of Directors of Maui Jim, Inc. and SS&C Technologies, Inc. He served on the board of Marshall County State Bank (Varna, IL). He has been involved in various community activities for many years. He is a Member and past-president of the OSF St. Francis Medical Center Community Advisory Board, a Member of the Illinois Neurological Institute Advisory Board and a Member of the Peoria CEO Roundtable Board. He served as an Independent Director of Fieldstone Investment Corp. from November 2003 to 2007. He served as a Director of RLI Vision Corp. He serves as a Member of the Board of Easter Seals - Peoria/Bloomington and the Eureka College Board of Trustees. He is a Certified Public Accountant. Mr. Michael holds Bachelor's degree in Business Administration from Ohio Dominican College in Columbus, Ohio.
