Im a recent hire but I have very much enjoyed how welcoming everyone is at Baird.

What do you like best about the leadership team?
Managers are respectful of employees as human beings. I do not have strong opinions or much knowledge of the executive committee, but they do seem to make humane decisions with regard to profit sharing and things like paid family and medical leave, etc.
You hear from them often, they try to make it interactive and are usually very approachable.
They treat everyone equally .
Transparent and genuine concern for its people.
They take an interest in each employee.

What does the leadership team need to get better at?
My direct leadership group is chaotic, uses stack ranking, and doesn't value objective performance measures.
What is the best part about your compensation package?
Stock, profit sharing, deferred comp
The 3 months paid maternity leave.

Why do you feel undervalued and what would make you feel better about your compensation?
External hires are offered higher salaries than internal hires, financial upward mobility is difficult.
Our leadership promotes more men than women, so I'm inclined to think that bias permeates compensation, too.
What are some of the best things about your team?
Everyone contributes and is open to collaboration. Asking questions feels safe.
I always learn something new when we meet.

This isn't a social club, this is work. Be more serious about the value your provide to the firm and quit the shenanigans that waste time.
What is most positive about the culture and environment at your company?
Being employee owned has its benefits, people feel invested in the company as a community. Managers are generally kind and supportive.
The work life balance is the most important.
