Out of 65 S.C. Johnson employee reviews, 71% were positive. The remaining 29% were constructive reviews with the goal of helping S.C. Johnson improve their work culture.
Supportive environment trickles from the top down.
They listen and care about the people
The directness. No sugar coating. Do not work here if you get your feelings hurt easily. It is an environment of harsh criticism and feedback... sometimes constructive and helpful. Other times, downright rude.
strong leadership and values team opinions
Commitment to the company values
Clear communication of goals, expectations, and progress on both projects and overall performance.
Everything, especially act on feedback from employees rather say they and do nothing!
Fair base pay and stock grants
Base salary and profit sharing
Total Reward scheme not only salary and benefit
profit sharing and health care
Pay levels lag behind comparable companies in comparable roles requiring masters-and-above education. Most benefits are middling at best. Lack of stock options (private compan) is not offset by the measly bonus offering. "Racine is cheap to live in" is not a credible defense.
Raises are always pennies no matter how hard you work. No clear objectives are ever laid out to obtain the compensation desired.
Few sick days. Little to no vacation days. Suspicious ways of counting years (the New Year specifically) to make employees use more sick days (because vacation days are not a thing) than necessary.
Yes, performance based merit increases
Friendly and supportive, makes it easy to get your job done.
Many high performers. Very driven.
creative, proactive, best team work and business partner
My team works well together and everyone respects each other's differences and opinions.
Be more inclusive and welcome diversity
Helpful communication. A less competitive and cut throat environment could actually be beneficial. Look at the downfall of Enron oil, gas, and electricity. It became a brutal fight of man against man as 25% of the workforce was fired every term. Learn from others' mistakes.
They value people. I feel important.
You feel engaged and welcome to SCJ family.
The teamwork when people are able to set aside their competitive attitudes.
The environment is positive as everyone is pulling in the same direction.
Free sunscreen doesn't make employees excited. Clear communication on the direction of the company would work better. Maybe the illustrious Fisk could come from up on high and mingle with us peasants once in a while, instead of opening another pretentious exhibit in Chicago
Very decisive, no game playing. And no egos!
Behavioral based questions. Very conversational.
clear information about the job and company culture. Very good impression for the first meeting. Appreciation and respect
Several levels of interviews to determine the best fit for each person.
Accurately describing what the job would be. That would've saved some heartache.
Less unnecessary and redundant hurdles to jump over or nonsensical hoops to jump through.
Autonomy and support to get the job done and be who I am.
You have the power to implement and improve the process because of the amazing leadership team
Doing my job. I just love what I do. The company does not matter to me, personally.
Being challenged which lwads to prfessional growtg
coworkers are helpful and understanding
Proctor and Gamble and Private Label are going to push SC Johnson out of the market before long. Customers don't want to pay "premium prices" for tiny scented candles or oils or chemicals.
Extremely high turnover rate. Compensate properly and offer more flexibility for work/life balance.
family culture but very professional with a good company achievement
innovation, decision making, synergies between commercial and GPS team
