I really enjoyed it at first but over time it seems to be becoming more and more about the money and production. There is little to no care for employees and the company cant keep good employees for that reason. Bull care has also gone down. Its all about the product and not the animal itself
What's going wrong and how can it be improved?
Need more for the work we do. Need compensated more for the physical toll that this job takes on people
What are some of the best things about your team?
We all know what needs done. We may be overworked and underpayed but they are the main reason to be working here. They keep the day moving
What is most positive about the culture and environment at your company?
The co workers and the animals. Everything else is too political and the higher ups dont care about barn crew workers. The only reason they even check on them is to see if they are doing the job right
What does the leadership team need to get better at?
Understand that they may want to grow and improve the company but they have to understand it can't grow when they can't keep good employees. Treat the ones that are staying and working hard better. Dont treat everyone equal. If someone shows more drive for the job, give them more.
Why do you feel undervalued and what would make you feel better about your compensation?
We are a growing company and that is great but employees need paid more. Livestock techs are not paid nearly enough for what they do no matter what the higher ups think. Adding on more bulls to an already short crew is not helping anyone with the poor pay and thats how you lose the good ones
