The WordPress plugin helps you tie in your Spreadshop with any Wordpress website. This increases the range of your Spreadshop and you have everything in one place: Your Spreadshop, your followers, your customers.
How do I install the plugin?
Download the *.zip file of the plugin at Wordpress
Open the Plugin Menu in your WordPress Dashboard
Upload the *.zip file to your content folder
Then activate the plugin
Where can I find my Shop ID?
Your Shop ID can be found in your Shop Settings at the bottom left corner of the screen.
Which URL do I enter in the form?
Please enter the domain URL of the page where your shop should be loaded. In this example, the page is called shop: https://www.deinewebsite.com/shop
Please note that this URL needs to be entered in your Shop Settings: Advanced Settings > Embed Shop in Website. Youll activate redirecting this way.
What platform am I on?
Depending on the domain you registered, your Shop either runs on our European or North American platform. The following table shows you on which platform your Shop is located:

Belgium FR (*.be/fr)
Australia (*.com.au)

What is the "startToken" and the metadata function?
The startToken lets you turn any page from your Shop into a WordPress home page no matter if it is a detail page, topics overview or list view.
Also, the Spreadshop plugin automatically transfers all relevant SEO metadata into the header of your website. This includes the title, description, SEO index, Open Graph and Twitter Card tags. If you deactivate this option, only the metadata of your WordPress page will be used.
How do I use the language settings?
The language settings of your plugin can be found under "Settings" > "Advanced" > "Language". Ifyou'veactivated the Activate all languages toggle, you can select any language and currency for your integrated Shop. And if youdon'tspecify anything, your Shops default settings will be used.
What's a Swipe menu?
If your WordPress page offers a burger menu for mobile pages, you should enable this setting. This will create a flexible navigation menu for mobile devices when navigating your Shop. Not activating this option may result in having two burger menus on mobile devices.
What happens if I deactivate or uninstall the plugin?
Deactivate: If you deactivate the plugin, redirecting to your website from your Shop will no longer be in place. Your shop will then no longer be available within your WordPress domain. But your shop can still be accessed on your shop domain (shop.spreadshirt.xyz/shopname).
Uninstall: Once uninstalled, the plugins functionality will be no longer available. Delete the "Wordpress-Plugin" in the menu item "Plugins" in your Wordpress account.

You can embed your Spreadshop in a website you run.
Its very easy to embed your Shop if you know a bit of HTML/CSS/JavaScript and if you have access to the source code of your page.
Where is your Shop supposed to show?
To determine the placement on your page, place a div element with an id (that you can choose freely) in the respective position in your HTML code. Everything you write in this div element will be shown until the Shop is loaded. Then it will be deleted completely. This is why the place between the div tags is quite suitable for a statement like Spreadshop loading...
<div id="shop">Spreadshop loading...</div>
Configure
To make sure your Shop will be loaded successfully, add the object spread_shop_config in JavaScript (should be available in window Scope).
At minimum, it should look like this:
var spread_shop_config = {
shopName: 'goats',
prefix: 'https://shop.spreadshirt.de',
baseId: 'shop',
};
The necessary parameters:
shopName string
Your Shops name or ID. You can find them in the overview of your sales channels
prefix string/url
Your Shops complete domain (everything before the dash, i.e. https://shop.spreadshirt.de or https://shop.spreadshirt.co.uk)
baseId string
The id you had chosen for the div elements (see above)
Last piece of the puzzle: The Script
Last but not least, you need to add a link to the script that will deliver the goods when loading the Shop. Ideally, you should place it somewhere below your configuration.
For European Shops:
<script type="text/javascript" src="https://shop.spreadshirt.net/js/shopclient.nocache.js"></script>
For North American Shops:
<script type="text/javascript" src="https://shop.spreadshirt.com/js/shopclient.nocache.js"></script>
Everything goes hand in hand this way
A complete, minimalistic example could look like this:
<!DOCTYPE html>
<html>
<head>
<meta charset="utf-8">
<title>Integrated Shop Test</title>
</head>
<body>
<div id="shop">Spreadshop loading...</div>
<script>
var spread_shop_config = {
prefix: 'https://shop.spreadshirt.de',
shopName: 'goats',
baseId: 'shop',
};
</script>
<script type="text/javascript" src="https://shop.spreadshirt.net/js/shopclient.nocache.js"></script>
</body>
</html>

Fonts
When embedding your Spreadshop, the font that your website displays will automatically be used in your Spreadshop as well. You can also choose to keep the Spreadshop font. The following section will explain how to loadFonts.
Shop adjustment for advanced users
There are a few other parameters you can adjust.
loadFonts boolean (Standard: false)
Set this parameter to true if you want to display your embedded Spreadshop in a font you configured in the Partner Area. The font will then be applied to your Spreadshop, but not to your website.
locale string
If you run an international Shop, you can change language and currency of your embedded Shop with these parameters.
The following values are at your disposal:

updateMetadata boolean (default: true)
If not otherwise defined, your Shops relevant integrated SEO meta data changes in your sites head (title, description and seoIndex, as well as OpenGraph and Twitter Card tags). If you want to switch off this feature, set the parameter to false.
usePushState boolean (default: false)
In a standardized way, hashbang URLs are created when navigating an embedded Shop (.../shop/#!/mnner+t-shirts?q=P24). You can bypass this by setting the parameter to true. This is considered an expert feature since it requires changes to the .htaccess-file on your webserver.
startToken string
Path to a page in your Shop that should be displayed as your start page.
swipeMenu boolean (default: false) If you use a burger menu for navigation of your embedded shop, you can deactivate the Spreadshop burger menu with this parameter and use a swipe menu instead. Set the parameter to true.
Example
An example using all available parameters could look like this:
var spread_shop_config = {
shopName: 'goats',
prefix: 'https://shop.spreadshirt.de',
baseId: 'shop',
loadFonts: true,
locale: 'de_DE',
startToken: 'men+t-shirts?q=P24',
usePushState: false,
updateMetadata: true,
};
Common mistakes and their causes
DOCTYPE missing
Your HTML file needs to start with the tag <!DOCTYPE html>, because Spreadshop has been designed for HTML5. Without this tag, there will be layout and styling issues. In an embedded Shop, youll see a very prominent banner to remind you in case the tag is missing.
Buttons and linksdon'twork
Spreadshop uses React.js, which leads to errors when used in conjunction with MooTools when in compatibility mode. If you encounter this problem, try disabling the compatibility mode, or remove MooTools entirely if possible.
Shop embedded multiple times
We strongly advise against embedding the Shop on the same page several times. This will lead to undesired behaviour.
Unusual special characters (e.g. )
Please change your html encoding to utf-8. Most CMS have an editable property for that. If you use plain HTML files, just make sure to encode your files in utf-8 and ensure that <meta charset=UTF-8> is present in your HTML's head section.
DOCTYPE missing warning when embedding in a Weebly site
This warning is usually only visible in the editor. If you publish your changes anyway, the integration will function on the published site.
GoDaddy Website Builder integration not working
Due to technical constraints from GoDaddy, it is unfortunately not possible to set up a working integration right now.

As a marketplace designer or Shop operator, you'll be a part of our print-on-demand process. The starting point is your design or Spreadshop product, which is stored as a digital file on the Spreadshirt servers. As soon as a customer orders something from you, the print-on-demand process kicks into high gear and it's profitable from the first item. Spreadshirt uses the print-on-demand process for all types of printing.
Spreadshirt uses only the best and most state-of-the-art printers on the market. This ensures brilliant printing results and long-lasting products whose quality is just as durable as traditional printing processes (such as offset printing).

The Product Feed automatically collects information from your Shop articles and communicates them to services such as Facebook, Google and Instagram. You can automatically show your Shop articles images, prices or colors on your pages. Or generate attractive ads with product info in a matter of clicks.
The following video tutorials and short instructions will help you set up a Product Feed for your Shop.
Run a Product Feed with Facebook Business Manager
Log in to your partner area.
Click Edit on the Shop for which you want to generate a Product Feed.
In the navigation on the left, click on Marketing and then on Product Feed. Youll find a link that you can copy to the clipboard.
Then go to your Facebook accounts Business Manager page and follow the instructions of this help article.
You can also advertise on Instagram through your Facebook Business page.
Run Product Feed in Google Merchant Center
Log in to your partner area.
Click Edit on the Shop for which you want to generate a Product Feed.
First click on Marketing and then on Product Feed. Youll find a link that you can copy to the clipboard.
Go to the Google Merchant page, and follow the instructions of this help article.
FAQ
Whys nothing happening after I upload products?
Uploading your products to your feed only takes a few seconds. But Google Merchant Center needs up to five days to consolidate the data. During this time, pleasedon'tclick on Fetch now or Re-process feed. This restarts the process and will result in longer waiting times for you.
As soon as you see a filled diagram in the "Diagnostics" tab, consolidation is complete.
Here you can find an overview of all supported currencies and domains.
I receive error messages about missing shipping information in the Google Merchant Center. What can I do?
Depending on the country of destination, it may be necessary to manually enter details for shipping prices and shipping times in the Merchant Center. You can add this information under the menu item "Delivery".
It is important that the currency of the target country matches the currency of the Shop. Your Shop's feed only delivers the default currency of the respective country. You can find information about this in your Shop settings in Advanced Settings > Language & Currency.
I would like to offer other shipping regions, but only receive warnings about missing shipping information.
If you want customers to see the shipping information for their currency region (e.g. Canada), you'll need to set up a 'multiple customer account' with Google. Your current Merchant Center account will become a subdivision of the new multiple customer account.
Once your new multiple customer account is confirmed, you can create additional shipping regions in line with your current Merchant Center account. For more information, see this Google Help article.
Example: Add Switzerland to a German Shop as a currency region
To ensure that the data from the Shop matches that in the Merchant Center, the country code in the feed URL must be changed to the respective target country. You can also specify differing delivery costs and times for i.e. Australia.
In our example, the domain in the subfeed com/shopname/products.rss must be changed to com/au/shopname/products.rss.
In our example, the feed outputs the currency AUD instead of USD for visitors from Australia. Add the same steps for each additional country you want to serve (e.g. .cafor Canada).
I get more red and yellow error messages. What can I do?
We monitor which error messages occur and make every effort to eliminate critical (red) errors. Messages marked yellow aren't critical to maintaining your feed and should be no cause for concern. A blue info icon provides additional help. Your feed is in no way affected technically.

Your Happiness Guarantee
Every product you order at Spreadshirt is an individual item, manufactured by hand for you. That’s what distinguishes
us from other e-commerce retailers. Returns aren’t put back on our warehouse shelves, as we can’t resell them. This
is why we want to make sure you’re 100\% content with your order. And if you should not be completely happy for any
reason, just make use of our
30-day return guarantee
Simply return your product within 30 days of receipt. Whether it doesn’t fit you, suit you or it’s
not what you expected - just send it back. You can choose from the following options:
Exchange for a new product
Exchange for a voucher to be redeemed towards your next order
Refund of your product cost as long as the product was not designed specifically for you
Before you send the product back, please contact our friendly
Service Team and provide your Order ID.
This is how you can avoid returns
1. Receive a sample before placing a volume order
When planning an order for you and your team, you may be unsure about what sizes, styles and colors to order. Please
order plain products without prints first, as we can take these back without a problem. If you order e.g. one
T-shirt with print to test the print quality, we will accept the return and give you a voucher or a new product.
This way, you’ll help protect the environment and save resources.
2. Read the order confirmation email straight away
Maybe you feel like changing the text or design. If this is the case, please follow the link in the confirmation
email and cancel the order immediately before it goes to print. You can then go back to your order, change it and
place it again.
3. Calculate with a buffer period
We’re quite fast, but we can’t make any guarantees. This may be due to reasons relating to design issues, product
stock and delivery times. If your order doesn’t arrive in time for a birthday, wedding anniversary or the farewell
party of your colleague, this does unfortunately not constitute a reason for a return. If you need something super
fast, use the Express Option to get your order as fast as possible.

If you want to sell products created with your vector graphics through Spreadshirt, your vector graphics file needs to be uploaded to your Partner Area first. In case you havent yet registered with Spreadshirt, you can create your free account here. In your Partner Area, just click on Designs and follow the next steps for the upload process.
Printability check for vector graphics
We check every vector graphics design uploaded. This way, we make sure that therewon'tbe any issues when printing it later. This automated process usually just takes a moment. If a design does not meet the individual requirements for printing, we will adjust the design if possible. For example:
we remove pixel graphics from the design that have not been converted into paths
we scale designs to make them large enough to achieve the required line thickness
we make ambiguous colors clear
we close curves and reduce layers
In your Partner Area, we always ask you to either accept or reject the changes. This way, you are given the chance to edit the design before releasing it for sale.
When we have to reject your design for plotter printing
Despite automatic print optimization, there may be occasions when we have to reject a design for plotter printing. This may be for one of the following reasons:
The file has been corrupted
The design is a pixel graphic
The design contains fine lines ( < 1mm) andcan'tbe further enlarged (doesnt apply to posters)
Lines are not completely converted into curves or curves are not closed
The design has too many anchor points or individual elements in the motif
In order to ensure that your vector design is not rejected, take a look at the Requirements for your artwork here. Find the requirements for poster designs here.

You can organize the designs in your Showroom by topics to create a neater overview for your customers. When offering a lot of designs, organizing them into subcategories will assure that your customers quickly find exactly what they want. Check out this video tutorial to see how it works:
You can create 20 topics with 200 designs each. As soon as you create a topic, another menu item appears in the top navigation of your Showroom. There, your customers can see all your topics and can filter them according to their wishes. You can arrange, deactivate or delete the topics in any order without having your designs deleted, of course.
You could e.g. sort your topics like this:
contextual (e.g. animals, music, professions, etc...)
style (typography, funny, black & white, etc...)
occasions/holidays (Christmas, Halloween, birthday, etc...)
sales ranking/novelty (bestsellers, new additions, etc...)
Find fitting descriptions
Choose a theme name that best fits the associated designs. Try to imagine what terms your potential customers would use in their searches. Please keep in mind that the names of your Shop topicswon'tbe translated. If your Showroom is aimed at international customers, be sure to choose universally understandable terms. Please keep the names of your topics under 30 characters so that they can be easily read on mobile devices.

Shipments to AK, HI, P.O. Box, APO, PR
Standard shipping to AK, HI and Puerto Rico are generally delivered within 5 mailing days after the order is shipped. However, these locations may have delivery times up to 9 mailing days.
APO destinations with Standard shipping can take up to 30 business days to be received, while Premium shipping to APO destinations may take up to 10 business days to be received after the order is shipped. Express shipping is not available to P.O. Boxes or APO address. If you enter a P.O. Box or an APO address for Express shipping, we will ship your order via our Premium shipping option. For more details about our Express shipping, please refer to this FAQ.
Customs and fees
Orders being shipped outside of the United States are subject to customs or duty fees. The fees are governmental in nature and not charged by Spreadshirt. We state 1) in checkout, next to the international shipping options, and 2) in the confirmation email that these fees may apply. Selecting the gift wrap option at checkout will not prevent these fees from being charged. For any issues regarding customs or duty fees, please contact your local customs office. These fees cannot be refunded, as they are not charged by us.
Please note: International shipping times are not guaranteed. Customs clearance can significantly delay the delivery of international orders. Such delays are not reflected in our estimated shipping times and are beyond our control. To ensure the most efficient handling of your international order, please make sure to include a local telephone number and email where you can be reached. Please check with your local customs authorities in advance to determine your country's specific import requirements.

Changes in state tax regulations and sales tax status of Spreadshirt Inc. will result in an increase in total price for products delivered to certain states. Orders will be charged sales tax based on the shipping destination of the order and the respective states sales tax. During the checkout, once the shipping address is entered and you proceed to payment, you will see the Sales Tax adjusted according to the shipping destination.
Customs and Duties Worldwide
Unfortunately, customs and countries outside of the USA sometimes place steep taxes and/or duties on packages arriving in countries outside the USA. As we cannot control these additional charges, there is no way to reduce them. If youre located outside the United States, be sure to check your local version of Spreadshirt to avoid customs, for example spreadshirt.de for Germany or spreadshirt.co.uk for the UK.
Australian GST
This information is also relevant when items are being shipped to Australia. 10% will automatically be applied to orders delivered within the country. These taxes will be applicable to any orders under 1,000 AUD. If orders exceed 1,000 AUD, theyll be taxed directly by customs (as opposed to Spreadshirt). Due to our simplified GST registration, tax invoices are not required to be issued.

Pixel graphics are multicolored images or photos composed of individual pixels (picture elements). The pixels are arranged in a grid, hence the term "grid graphics" (sometimes called "raster graphics"). Each pixel is assigned color information, the sum of which produces the picture. With Spreadshirt, pixel graphics serve as a template for digital printing. So that we can achieve the best possible result in printing with your graphics, please bear in mind the following tips:
Requirements for your pixel design
PNG, JPG, BMP or GIF file format
Maximum file size 10 MB
Image resolution at least 200 dpi
Maximum size 4000 x 4000 pixels
Design is isolated
Find the requirements for poster designs here.
Optimizing image resolution
Whats in your image?
Photos or graphics in PNG, JPG, GIF or BMP formats are made up of pixels (picture elements). The pixels are arranged in a grid and each one is assigned a color. The number of pixels (in width and height) also later determines the size of the print.
With us so far? Ok, good. So, we print textiles at 200 dpi. The abbreviation dpi stands for dots per inch. This provides information on the density of the picture elements. A graphic that is 1000 pixels wide, for example, produces a design 5 inches wide when printed at 200 dpi. A 2000 pixel-wide graphic produces a 10 inch-wide design, etc.
Ifyou'veever tried to set a small image as your desktop background or zoom in on a poor-quality smartphone photo, then you know what happens when an image doesnt have enough pixels. A design with a low pixel width or height (for example, 800 x 600 pixels)can'tbe easily enlarged without loss of quality (for example to 4.7 x 4 inches or more). Because of the "missing" pixels, the print would probably look blurry and out of focus. So make sure to only upload designs with sufficient resolution and number of pixels to avoid that blurry effect. We recommend 200 dpi and a maximum of 4000 x 4000 pixels, so as not to exceed the maximum file size of 10 MB.
Removal of unwanted backgrounds
Spreadshirt customers often want to print a motif from a photo or other image without the background. But unfortunately, simply creating a white background doesnt deliver the desired effect. With a white background, a white area is printed on your product which is visible on both colored and white products. Backgrounds must be transparent in order to be ignored by our printer. Isolate your motif in a graphics program and save it as a PNG file.
Here are some instructions for removing the background from a motif in Photoshop and GIMP to help you out:
Removing the background with Photoshop
Open your pixel graphic in Photoshop.
Select the "wand" tool.
With the wand, select the area to be removed, e.g. the background.
Remove the selected area (with "del").
Repeat the process until the background is completely removed.
Make sure that all areas of the background have now really been removed. Zoom in to see if small groups of
pixels still remain at the edges. Remove these if possible.
Save the isolated graphic in PNG format. If this format is not an option when saving, change the color space
under "Image -> Mode" to RGB color space. This is important because some file formats, such as for example JPG,
do not recognize transparent surfaces and provide the isolated image with a white background when you save it.
Removing the background with GIMP
Go to the Layers Palette (on the right side. If it is not there go Window > Layers - Brushes). If the name of your file is Background, then it will need renamed by right clicking on the name and choosing Edit Layer Attributes. Change the name to anything.
Next make sure that the image is in the RGB color scale. Select Image from the top menu, then select Mode from the box and make sure RGB is selected.
Create a new layer that is transparent. Right click on your original layer and choose New Layer. Under Layer Fill Type, choose Transparency. Click OK.
Click and drag your now transparent layer (which should look like a checkerboard) underneath your original layer.
Right click your top layer and click Merge Visible Layers. In the pop-up box click Merge.
Select the fuzzy select tool, the first row, second tool from the right in the tool bar.
Set the threshold (located under Tool Options in the Toolbox) to around 15.
Click anywhere in the background and hit Delete on your keyboard. This should reveal a checkerboard.
Go Select > None to deselect the marching ants.
Export the file as an PNG image. File > Export.
Speckling color transitions
Digital printers work in a similar way to inkjet printers: the ink is sprayed directly onto the product. To stay as true as possible to the colors of your design, a white layer is first sprayed onto colored products as a base. If your design has a transparent color transition running to the edges, this white base can show through on dark products. To prevent this, use the "speckle" tool in your graphics program. Advanced users can also use the "dither" function.
Taking color differences into account in CMYK and RGB mode
On the screen, colors often appear brighter than on the printed shirt. This is what you can do to make sure the colors come out just as nicely in print as on the screen:
Increase the contrast and saturation of your graphics to a very high degree. What may look a bit too much on the screen will look just right in print.
Always upload your graphics in RGB mode. Our software systems work with this color scheme, and that's why smaller color deviations are to be expected with RGB files than with CMYK files.
Read more about the different color effects on the monitor and shirt.

How does the size fit?
Size specifications of the individual manufacturers may vary. Thats why we always indicate whether a product runs smaller, larger or true to size. We collect information from our customers on how a product fits so that you can use this feedback to find the perfect fit.

This size chart helps you to easily find the right size for yourself. Heres a tip: spread out your favorite piece of clothing on the floor. Then use measuring tape to determine height (A), width (B) and length (C). Compare these measurements with our size chart to identify your size.
Size for US (women only)
Depending on the country, data for women's sizes may differ considerably from international sizes. Our table will help you compare sizes so you can easily find the right fit. Just select your country and compare your size with the corresponding international size.

Within your chosen print area, you can place as many designs and as much text as you like for no extra cost. In addition to our standard printing fee, a design cost may apply. This price is set by the designer and is their compensation for uploading their design. Depending on what the designer has set as a charge, it may range from $0 to $15 per design. The design price will be shown in the Design Tool.
Print areas
Smartphone cases and accessories like mugs, caps and beanies only have a single print area. You can print on several areas of most pieces of clothing usually on the front, back and sleeves (or a hoodies hood). For each print area you personalize, a fixed rate for printing and a design price (if set by the designer) apply.
Here you can get a preview of what your product (with design and/or text) may cost. These prices apply to the Create-Your-Own area and merely serve as a guide.

Vector designs will be printed with digital direct or plot printing. Vector graphics are necessary for plot printing. We use a machine for plot printing which punches out your design on color foil. Then a member of the Spreadshirt staff "weeds" the design: that is, removes the unnecessary pieces of film. The weeded design is then positioned on the t-shirt and pressed on using high heat and pressure. The carrier film is peeled off and, voil, the t-shirt is finished.
Vector design requirements for plot printing:
We support SVG, AI and CDR file formats.
Your design must not exceed 15 x 15 inches. We recommend 11 x 11 inches as the ideal size.
Lines and other parts of the design must have a diameter of at least 0.06 inches.
Maximum 3 colors: we can print up to three colors when plotter printing.
Please create each color in your design as a separate layer.
All objects and text to be printed must be converted into paths.
Make sure that all curves are completely closed and do not overlap each other.
Find the requirements for poster designs here.
Measuring and increasing line thickness
If parts of the design are thinner than the required line width, they can tear during weeding and make the print motif unusable. If gaps in the motif or whole parts of the motif are too small (e.g. dots), they may possibly be overlooked during weeding or be difficult to detach. In addition, fine lines do not adhere as well to the shirt and may peel off. Lines and other parts of the motif must therefore have a diameter of at least 0.06 inches and gaps between elements should be at least 0.04 inches.
This is how you measure line width: to check whether the lines in your motif are thick enough, create a circle with a diameter of 0.06 inches and lay it on top of the thinnest line in your motif. If the circle fits inside the line without protruding, it is thick enough. Do the same with a 0.04-inch diameter circle to measure the gaps in your design. If the circle fits inside the narrowest gap, it is big enough.
Important: if you increase the line width, make sure that your overall design is no larger than 15 x
15 inches. It is best to aim for a size of 11 x 11 inches, so that it fits on most of our products.
Checking and closing curves
When the plotter machine punches out your design, it cuts it out of the printing film along the curves. If the
plotter machine finds an open end in a curve, it tries to close it. It looks for any anchor point nearby and cuts a
straight line down to this point. If the curve is not closed, there will be defects in the design.
So ensure that you do the following:
Check that you have really converted all the parts of your design into curves. Unconverted elements will not be
printed, as our printer will not recognize them.
Check that you have really closed all the curves in your design. You can use the "combine" or "merge" function
in your graphics program to do this.
If there are any remaining elements which overlap or are not required, remove them.
Reduce the number of anchor points
Whenever the plotter machine reaches an anchor point when cutting out along the curves on your design, it changes its direction. Superfluous anchor points on a line result in uneven lines and a messy-looking design.
So when you are creating your vector graphic, use as few anchor points as possible. One start point and one end point are sufficient for a straight line. Your design should have a maximum of 2000 anchor points per color (maximum 6000 for a three-colored motif).

For plot printing, you must submit a vector graphic with no more than 3 colors.
A design will be mechanically cut out of the plot foil with a plotting knife. Every printing color is cut out of its own foil.
After the design has been extracted from the foil and excess foil has been removed, only the design will remain.
The design will be placed on the t-shirt by hand and melted to it the under heat and pressure of the printing press.
The plastic backing will be removed and the t-shirt will be complete.

We can only accept designs that meet certain quality criteria and appeal to a wide range of potential customers. This is why we will reject designs if one of the following reasons apply. If you have any questions as to why your design was rejected, please get in touch with our legal service: [email protected].
Rights Unaccounted
As a designer, you can earn money with your ideas at Spreadshirt. It is in both your and our interest to protect rights of use and copyrights. We usually reject the publication of a design if we can find the design elsewhere online andaren'table to get in touch with you to verify your authorship. These cases make identifying the authorship contentious. Even if a third-party design is labelled public domain content, the usage rights are not properly clarified and we must reject the design. We also want to avoid multiple offers. In case you should indeed be the actual author, please do got in touch and contact us.
Copyright
As a print-on-demand provider, we need to respect copyrights. If we disregard copyrights on designs, slogans, trademarks or personal rights, we - and possibly also you - face potential legal warnings that may incur steep fines. That's why we can only publish protected designs if you can provide us with an appropriate permit. This also applies to designs that show elements of protected designs, even in cases of parody. Parodies may violate existing trademark rights due to a possibility of confusion. The same is true for images or names of real-life persons who are entitled to a right to privacy. If you are not sure if your design violates existing rights, check out the online platform USPTO. If you should find your idea already listed there, unfortunately someone else beat you to the chase.Sometimes, legal situations change and we have to remove designs from our platform, even if they were originally cleared for publication.
Community Standards
We value peaceful coexistence, and we want to make life more beautiful with the designs people find through our Spreadshirt community. Please remember that designs violating our community guidelines will be rejected if they contain illegal content, hate speech, pornography or glorify violence. Based on our Community Guidelines we reserve the right to remove sensitive content or limit its visibility. This is especially true for the protection of minors or if we find it necessary to protect the needs of our diverse community. Legally prohibited contentwon'tbe printed by us. Please contact us should you see any designs on our platform which violate our Community Guidelines.
Design Quality
Spreadshirt stands for quality. All the products you can buy on our platforms have been selected to make buyers happy. That's why we've defined a set of quality criteria for designs that need to be met.
Designs must be completely cropped. Be sure to completely remove the background on your designs. If you do need a background, it should be visible in its entirety and not be pixilated. The same is true for any other kind of pixelation. Edges should be clean and accurate.
In order to achieve a good print result, pixel graphics need a sufficiently high resolution without pixelation. Read more about the requirements on pixel designs.
Blurred or washed-out designscan'tbe published, because the print result would not meet your expectations or our high quality standards.
Low contrast designs often look dull after printing anddon'tcome out right. Be sure to upload designs that are rich in contrast and color. Remember, what looks like a bit overkill on your monitor will render well on fabric.
With automatically vectorized designs, some of the design elements may not be be cleanly rendered. Common problems include rounded corners, deformed objects or incorrectly set anchor points. Pay attention to clean vector graphics so we can publish your design quickly.
Digital prints deliver the best print results, but production is more demanding than other print methods. Digital direct printing requires spraying a base-layer on the product before applying the design. This is necessary to bring the colors out nicely. On semi-transparent prints, youll see the pre-treatment shine through later (which is of course not ideal). On dark and colorful products, this effect is more pronounced. Our tip: Avoid semi-transparencies and sprinkle these areas with spots of color instead.
If we should spot accidental typos, we'll do you a favor by not publishing your design. Itll give you a chance to correct the slip and re-upload the design.
Valuable tips on how to optimize your graphics quickly and easily can be found in this blog post. Our design experts are happy to help you: Spreadshirts graphic service helps you realize your design ideas in a professional and inexpensive way.
Marketplace Standards
Our Marketplace is a creative playground for self-made designs. This is what distinguishes us from other platforms specializing in photo prints. Wecan'taccept simple photo snapshots unless the image has been edited to reflect some kind of artistic approach. Designs for smartphone cases and posters are the exception here.
Pleasedon'tupload anything to the Marketplace that has highly personal or specific content, like e.g. names, birth dates, email or website addresses. Those designs are of no interest to Marketplace buyers and hold next to no sales opportunities. Please offer such designs in your Spreadshop instead.
The quality of search results in the Marketplace is largely determined by tags, descriptions, titles and categories. Choose tags that fit your design. If half of your tags or morewon'tfit your design, we reserve the right to not publish the design on the Marketplace.
We reject series of designs in which only a few elements vary. For example, series of designs like Vintage since YEAR (with all numbered years from 1901 to 2025) or Five-Star JOB (including all kinds of occupations from accountant to zookeeper)aren'tpermissible. Also, unformatted single words, single numbers or letterswon'tbe published in the Marketplace.

If you want to use the product preview for showing off your designs, you need to employ a little trick: Go to Page Settings > Product List Page > Show on start page to enable the product view and sort your items. Then make sure you switch back to the design view. Your settings will be saved and your designs will be presented accordingly.

Know your print areas
A products print area consists of all the areas that can be printed on. In the Design Tool,
you can see a square thats either black or white. Thats the print area. Designs and text
can only be placed inside those.
Learn more
Design frame is red: Design cannot be printed. Drag it into the print area.
Design frame is green: Perfect!
Placing designs correctly
These tips will get the best out of your designs, regardless of the product:
Big design: A big design usually looks best on the front of the shirt. To
help you hit the centre, youll find an aid line when your design hits the centre.
Small design: Small designs and logos come out great on the left or right
chest. But watch out that the design doesnt get too close to the armpit. A third of the
width is a fair measure for placement.
The design is too close to the armpit.
Drag it to the middle: Perfect!
Choose contrasting design and product colors
A dark design on a dark product will not come out great, even if it may look okay on your
monitor. The same is true for bright designs on bright products, as well as all other color
combinations that are too similar. Choose a contrasting color and product combination to
make your designs come out great.
Product and design colorsdon'toffer enough contrast
Perfect
Adjust design size to product size
Our product image in the Design Tool shows you a standard size (i.e. M). Choose your design
size in relation to the standard size. If you order the product in a different size, the
design cannot automatically be adjusted to the product size. The absolute size of your
design will remain, regardless of whether you order it in S or 4XL. This is why the design
may appear somewhat bigger or smaller on the actual product you receive.
Tip:
Youre ordering for a group:Order tops for kids and adults separately,
and adjust the design size manually. Make the design a bit smaller (i.e. for XS) and
bigger (i.e. for XL) for favourable results.
Youre ordering a product with a huge printing area: Make sure that
the designwon'tlook too small. Make it a bit bigger on products like aprons, blankets
or pillows to achieve favourable results.
No design on zipper, fly or seams
Printing on the fly, seams, or zipperscan'tbe done. Never put your design, photos and text
in these places. It may be possible to create a product this way (and to check out with the
order), but wewon'tbe able to process the order.
No overlapping designs
Design overlapscan'tbe printed. Dont place several designs, images or text on top of each
other. It may be possible to create a product with overlapping designs (and to check out
with the order), but wewon'tbe able to process the order.
Problem solving
Designcan'tbe placed on product
Some of our products (i.e. breathable shirts, umbrellas or kids hoodies) can only be
personalized with flex or flock prints. These print methods require a vector file format
such as SVG, AI or CDR. Ifyou'vechosen to personalize such a product, youll receive an
error message when trying to upload files such as JPG, PNG or GIF.
Tip:
Change product color to white. White products can be personalized with digital transfer,
a print method for all formats.
Choose a different product.
Render your image to a vector graphics file.
Graphics sizecan'tbe reduced
Youve probably chosen a product that can only be personalized with flex or flock prints.
This affects products like breathable shirts, umbrellas or kids hoodies. These print
methods require a vector file format such as SVG, AI or CDR. Vector graphicscan'tbe scaled
down at will, though, because fine lines cannot be thinner than 1.5mm to prevent them from
tearing later. This means that the design can only be scaled down until the smallest element
is still as big as 1.5mm.
Tip:
Choose a product suitable for digital direct printing. Vector graphics are automatically
printed with digital direct. Line strength doesnt matter here.
Pixel graphicscan'tbe enlarged
We print textiles with 200dpi. The dpi (dots per inch) value is an indicator for image pixel
density. A pixel graphic with a width of 1000 pixels printed with 200dpi results in a
5-inch-wide (12.7cm) design. Our application doesnt allow for making the file bigger since
this would result in blurry print results.
Tip:
Only upload designs with a high resolution, meaning with a high pixel number. A T-shirt
design printed with 200dpi can have a maximum of 4000 x 4000 pixels.

If you offer many products or specialize in certain target groups (i.e. kids), then the template feature can be a real time-saver. Recurring work steps can now be carried out more quickly. Selecting products and colours, as well as determining the size and position of your products design, are easily completed with a single click. By deactivating certain colour combinations, you can prevent dark designs from being ordered on dark products. Templates can be applied to individual products or several products.
This little tutorial demonstrates the feature:
Creating your own templates
Creating templates is especially recommended if you tend to offer individual designs on several products or different colour combinations. This is how you create templates:
Upload a design or select an existing one.
Select and add products types, and adjust the position and size of the design.
Click on the "Save as Template" button.
Give your template a fitting name (35 characters max.). You can use this for more designs in the future.
In total, you can save up to 10 templates.
Spreadshirts templates for dark and light designs
To prevent your customers from e.g. combining bright designs with white products and being unhappy with the print result, you can exclude certain colour combinations. Spreadshirt has created two preset templates for light and dark designs:
Upload a design or select an existing one.
Click on the "Select template" button.
Click on "Apply" to select a template.
Need help with the Template feature?
Any questions on how templates work? Weve put together this FAQ for you. And you can always get in touch with us! Just send an email to [email protected] and tell us:
User ID
The gadget you use
Your operating system and version
What happens when I adjust my designs?
Adjustments to a design e.g. when you change the size or its position on the product have no effect on the design you initially uploaded.
New Products
New products are not automatically added to the templates even if you have selected all products from the category (e.g. "Kids & Babies").
Vector Graphics
If you change the colour of your vector graphics when editing products, these changeswon'tbe automatically saved in your templates. These changes need to be made manually in the affected templates.
Special formats and product categories with limitations
Pixel graphics can'tbe printed on all print areas or products, whereas vector graphics files can. This applies e.g. to the Mens Breathable T-Shirt. This is why its important to pay attention to how you combine designs with products so they can be printed.
Designs that are suitable for poster printing are automatically recognized by our system as posters based on their file properties. The image format may be quite big. Unfortunately, since the template function cannot be applied to poster printing, youwon'tbe able to create a template based on poster designs. Of course, you can use your design on other products and apply it to templates that you already created.
View ArticleAt Spreadshirt, ratings refer to the properties of individual products, i.e. fabric quality, color, size and fit. They don't represent an evaluation of individual Shops or designs.
How do product ratings come about?
The ratings result from customer reviews for all products sold on the Spreadshirt Marketplace. Shortly after shipping, each customer is given the opportunity to evaluate the material properties on a scale of zero to five stars. These product ratings are also displayed in your Shop by default.
Can I influence product ratings?
Customer and product reviews create confidence in the e-commerce world. Customers read online reviews and come to a decision of whether to buy a product or not. Spreadshirt endorses this trust element and therefore doesnt support any influence on the rating system. However, in your Shop settings you can deactivate product ratings: Page Settings > Product Detail Page > Product Ratings.
View ArticleThe "Topics" function will provide a better overview of your Shop. If you offer a lot of designs, the Topics feature will neatly showcase your products. Youll help your customers quickly find what they are really looking for. Check out this tutorial to see how it works:
Using shop topics is worth considering once you have at least twelve designs in your Spreadshop then you can create e.g. three topics with four designs each. You can create a total of 25 topics. Your topics are displayed in the navigation bar of your Spreadshop as an additional menu item. In order to keep the preview neat on small screens, we have limited the number of topics to ten.
Your Spreadshops first three topics are displayed with thumbnails. This ensures that customers can load your Spreadshop page at the usual speed. The remaining topics are displayed as links.
You can change the order of the topics in the settings (Page Settings> Topics). And the arrangement of your designs within each topic can be customized via the product list page (Page Options > Product List Page > Arrange items).
Individual topics can be deactivated and deleted without deleting designs.
Examples of topic arrangements:
contextual (e.g. animals, music, professions, etc...)
style (typography, funny, black & white, etc...)
occasions/holidays (Christmas, Halloween, birthday, etc...)
sales ranking/novelty (bestsellers, new additions, etc...)
When naming your Shop topics, you should have a few SEO requirements in mind. Browser add-ons such as Keyword Everywhere or the Keyword Planner from Google Adwords can help you. First, choose a theme name that best fits the associated designs. Then, check the search volume of this term. It doesnt need to be super high, but it should still have more than ten monthly searches. You can also easily check on Google to see if your Shop topic is being searched for. Just enter the theme name along with "T-Shirt" and look at the number of hits. Please note: The more designs you add to a theme, the higher it will be ranked on Google.
Please note that the names of your Shop topics are not translated. So if you sell internationally with your Shop, you should choose universally understandable terms. In addition to that, the maximum length of a topics name should be 30 characters so they can be easily read on mobile devices.

We also use “cookies” on our sites. Cookies are small text files that are assigned to your browser and stored on your device. This helps us to make our website more user-friendly and effective overall. The legal bases for this are your consent and our legitimate interests. Cookies cannot execute programs or transmit viruses to your device.
We use session cookies, persistent cookies, and third-party cookies.
Session cookies store what’s called a session ID, which can be used to assign different requests of your browser to a common session. 2.2 Ordering from Spreadshirt / User Account
a) If you want to order something in our online shop, it is necessary for the conclusion of the contract that you give us the personal data we need to process the order. The mandatory data required to process the contract is marked as such; all other data you provide is voluntary. You can either enter your data only once for the order or use your email address to set up a password-protected user account with us, in which your data can be stored for later purchases until you revoke your consent. You can deactivate or delete the data and the user account at any time via the account.
To prevent unauthorized access to your personal data by third parties, the order process is encrypted using TLS technology.
When we process the data provided by you to process your order, this includes, for example, individual customer service. In the course of order processing, we pass on personal data to one of our production companies within the group, to a shipping company commissioned by us and (with the exception of PayPal) to our bank, ADYEN B.V., Simon Carmiggeltstraat 6-50, 1011 DJ Amsterdam, Netherlands (“Adyen”). The payment data is encrypted and transmitted directly to Adyen.
Payment via PayPal is processed by PayPal, 2211 North First Street San Jose, California 95131 (“PayPal”). For information about data protection at PayPal, please refer to PayPal’s privacy policy: https://www.paypal.com/us/webapps/mpp/ua/privacy-full.
In the case of trackable parcels, we also pass on your order and address data to various service providers, depending on your delivery choices, shipping rates, and your chosen delivery destination.
The legal bases for the processing of personal data as part of order processing are to perform under a contract and our legitimate interests. Due to commercial and tax regulations, we are obliged to store your order, address and payment data for a period of ten years.
b) During the order process we also conduct a fraud prevention check via our bank Adyen, which involves using your IP address to carry out a geolocalization and compare your data with previous experience. This may mean that an order cannot be placed with the selected payment method. Our aim in this regard is to prevent any abuse of your chosen payment method by third parties and to protect ourselves from payment defaults. The legal basis for the processing is our legitimate interests.
Since this involves automated decision-making, you have the right to challenge the decision (in this case the refusal of a certain payment method) and have the decision reviewed by a person. In such cases we ask that you contact us using the contact details mentioned in Section 1. Please note that the payment method may have been rejected due to a typing error and you should, therefore, check what you have entered again during the order process if necessary.
c) During the ordering process we use Google Maps Autocomplete, a service of Google LLC (“Google”). This allows an address you start typing to be completed automatically, avoiding delivery errors. Google sometimes conducts a geolocalization using your IP address and receives the information that you have retrieved the corresponding subpage of our website. In addition, the data referred to in Section 2.1 is transmitted. This is regardless of whether you have a Google account and are logged in. Once you are logged in to your Google Account, the information will be directly associated with your account. If you do not want this assignment to occur, you must log out before entering your address. Google stores your data as user profiles and uses it (even in the case of users who are not logged in) for the purposes of advertising, market research and/or the needs-oriented design of its own website. You can object to Google creating such user profiles. For more information about the purpose and scope of data processing by Google and about protecting your privacy, please refer to Google’s Privacy Policy: https://policies.google.com/privacy?hl=en. Third-party provider information: Google LLC, 1600 Amphitheatre Parkway, Mountain View, CA 94043, USA.
The legal basis for the processing is our legitimate interests.
d) After you place an order, we will process your order and address data to send you a personalized email asking you to rate our products. By obtaining ratings, our aim is to improve our services and adapt them to our customers’ wishes. We use the feedback software of eKomi Ltd, Markgrafenstrae 11, 10969 Berlin, Germany (“eKomi”). For the purpose of sending the feedback email (and in the event that a moderation or conciliation procedure is conducted via eKomi following negative feedback), we pass on your email address, name, order number, product types and a unique ID to eKomi for identification purposes and in order to generate a feedback link.
The legal basis for the processing is our legitimate interests. If you no longer want your data to be used for this purpose, you can object to this at any time. Just click on the unsubscribe link included with each email or send a message using the contact details provided under Section 1.
e) We also use Google Customer Reviews, a service of Google Ireland Ltd. (“Google”), through which we receive feedback about us as a seller and about our products. This allows us to improve our services and adapt them to our customers’ wishes. The legal basis is our legitimate interests. After placing an order, you can give Google permission to use your email address to request a review. You can revoke your consent to the use of your data at any time by clicking on the unsubscribe link contained in the emails from Google. For more detailed information about the purpose and scope of data processing by Google and about protecting your privacy, please refer to Google’s Privacy Policy: https://policies.google.com/privacy. 2.3 Spreadshirt Partners: Shop Partners and Marketplace Designers
a) If you want to offer designs on our marketplace or operate a shop, it is necessary for the conclusion of a contract with us that you use your email address to open a password-protected user account and store your name and address there. For the payout of earnings, it is necessary that you additionally provide your bank details or your PayPal information as well as information about your tax status. Any other information you may provide to us when using the account is voluntary. You do not have to enter a real name when choosing your username. You can manage and change this information in your account. You can also deactivate or erase it or the entire user account. If this affects data necessary for the performance of the contract, we may retain that data for a longer period in accordance with commercial and tax regulations (standard period of ten years). We process this data to conduct the contractual relationship that exists with you; the legal bases are to perform under a contract and our legitimate interests.
b) Within the scope of the contractual relationship, we also process the email address provided by you in order to send you emails at irregular intervals containing information and tips about the Marketplace and your shops (“Partner Newsletter”). We use your name to allow us to personalize these emails. To this end, the data is passed on to the software company Emarsys eMarketing Systems AG, Hans-Fischer-Strae 10, 80339 Munich, Germany (“Emarsys”), which handles the technical side of the mailing on our behalf. You can unsubscribe from the Partner Newsletter at any time by clicking on the unsubscribe link provided in each email, informing us via the contact details specified in Section 1, or changing your newsletter settings in your user account (“Account Settings” “Newsletter subscriptions”).
When sending the Partner Newsletter, we use Emarsys to statistically evaluate your user behavior in order to optimize the design. To enable this evaluation, the emails contain what are called web beacons or tracking pixels. These are single-pixel image files that establish a connection to our website und thus permit a log file analysis. The web beacons are linked with the data mentioned in Section 2.1 a and an individual ID. The links contained in the email also contain this ID. For example, we can see if and when an email has been opened and which links have been clicked on. The data is stored on the Emarsys servers for 13 months and collected pseudonymously, meaning the IDs are not linked to other personal data at this point, thus ruling out any possibility of direct personal reference. You can object to the recording of your usage behavior at any time by clicking on the unsubscribe link provided in each email, informing us via the contact options listed in Section 1, or changing the newsletter settings in your user account (“Account settings” “Newsletter subscriptions”). Recording is not possible if you have disabled the display of images in your email settings. In this case, the newsletter will not be displayed to you in full and you may not be able to use all functions. If you choose to display the images manually, recording will take place as described above.
The legal bases for the processing are your consent, to perform under a contract, and our legitimate interests.
c) If you store your address in your user account, we use Google Maps Autocomplete, a service of Google LLC (“Google”). This allows an address you start typing to be completed automatically. This helps us verify your address, which we do for tax reasons. Google sometimes conducts a geolocalization using your IP address. We also use Google Fonts to enhance the user experience in the Partner section of your account as well as Google Calendar to inform you about Partner-related promotions for customers. Via these services and applications, Google receives the information that you have retrieved the corresponding subpage of our website. For more detailed information about the purpose and scope of data processing by Google and about protecting your privacy, please refer to Google’s Privacy Policy: https://policies.google.com/privacy. The binding terms of use for Google Maps/Google Earth can be found here: https://www.google.com/help/terms_maps.html. Third-party provider information: Google LLC, 1600 Amphitheatre Parkway, Mountain View, CA 94043, USA.
The legal basis for the processing is our legitimate interests.

2.5 Processing of data for web analytics
a) Google Analytics
Our website uses Google Analytics, a web analytics service provided by Google Ireland Ltd. (“Google”). Google uses cookies (see Section 2.1 b), which enable an analysis of your use of our website. The information generated by the cookie about usage is usually transferred to a Google server in the USA and stored there. However, due to the activation of IP anonymization on our website, where applicable, your IP address will first be shortened by Google within the Member States of the European Union or in other states party to the Agreement on the European Economic Area. Only in exceptional cases will the full IP address be transmitted to a Google server in the USA and shortened there. On our behalf, Google will use this information to evaluate your use of the website, to compile reports on website activity and to provide us with other services relating to website and internet use.
The IP address transmitted by your browser in the context of Google Analytics will not be combined with other data held by Google.
You can prevent the storage of cookies by selecting the appropriate settings in your browser software; however, please note that if you do this you may not be able to use the full functionality of our website. You can also prevent the data generated by the cookie and relating to your use of the website (including your IP address) from being recorded and processed by Google by downloading and installing the browser plug-in available under the following link: https://tools.google.com/dlpage/gaoptout/. Specifically in the case of mobile devices, you can prevent Google Analytics from recording data by clicking here: DisableEnable Google Analytics. This will place an opt-out cookie which prevents recording when you visit our website in future. Please note that if you delete all cookies on your device, this opt-out cookie will also be deleted; in this case, if you still wish to object then you must place the cookie again using the above button. The opt-out cookie is set per top-level domain, per browser and per device and only prevents the recording of data for this website.
This website uses Google Analytics with the “_anonymizeIp()” extension. Consequently, IP addresses are further processed in shortened form, so that any personal association with the data subject can be ruled out. As far as the data collected about you relates to you personally, that association is therefore ruled out immediately and the personal data thus erased without delay.
We use Google Analytics to analyze and regularly improve the use of our website. The statistics this yields allow us to improve our website and make it more interesting for you as a user. The legal bases for our use of Google Analytics are your consent and our legitimate interests.
Third-party provider information: Google LLC, 1600 Amphitheatre Parkway, Mountain View, CA 94043, USA. See also the terms of use ( https://www.google.com/analytics/terms/us.html ) and privacy overview ( https://support.google.com/analytics/answer/6004245? ) for Google Analytics as well as Google’s privacy policy: https://policies.google.com/privacy.
b) Adobe Analytics
To allow us to analyze and regularly improve the use of our website, our website also uses the Adobe Analytics web analytics service. The statistics this yields allow us to improve our website and make it more interesting for you as a user. The legal bases for our use of Adobe Analytics are your consent and our legitimate interests.
The analysis involves storing cookies (see Section 2.1 b) on your device. The information collected in this way is stored on servers, including in the USA. We would like to point out that if you prevent the storage of cookies, you may not be able to use this website in its entirety. You can adjust your browser settings to prevent the storage of cookies. You can also prevent Adobe Analytics from recording your data on this website by clicking here: Disable Enable Adobe Analytics. How to prevent the recording of your data on other websites is explained on the respective sites and at https://www.adobe.com/privacy/opt-out.html.
Our website uses Adobe Analytics with the settings “Before Geo-Lookup: Replace visitor’s last IP octet with 0” and “Obfuscate IP-Removed”, which removes the last octet from your IP address and replaces it with a generic IP address, i.e. one that can no longer be assigned. Any personal connection can therefore be ruled out.
Third-party provider information: Adobe Systems Incorporated, 345 Park Avenue, San Jose, CA 95110-2704, [email protected]; Adobe’s privacy policy: https://www.adobe.com/privacy/policy.html .
c) Adobe Target
Our website also uses the Adobe Target analytics service. With the help of this service we can carry out so-called A/B tests on the website. The software renders to a certain user group a version of the website that is different from the original version (e.g. with a different design or different content). This makes it possible to analyze and compare user behavior on both versions and optimize the website. The legal bases for our use of Adobe Target are your consent and our legitimate interests.
The information generated using cookies (see Section 2.1 b) is stored on servers, including in the USA. Our website uses Adobe Target with the settings “Before Geo-Lookup: Replace visitor’s last IP octet with 0” and “Obfuscate IP-Removed”, which removes the last octet from your IP address and replaces it with a generic IP address, i.e. one that can no longer be assigned. e) Web analytics by Spreadshirt’s Shop Partners
Our partners can also use the Google Analytics web analytics service (see Section 2.5 a) in their Spreadshirt shops themselves, as a rule to analyze use of the shop and improve their offer in the shop. In this case, they determine the purposes and means of processing personal data. The name and contact details of our partners are stored in the legal information section of the respective shop.
2.6 Advertising activities by Spreadshirt
a) Newsletter
If you register separately for our newsletter via our website and give us your consent, we will use your email address to send you regular emails about product offers, discounts and contests.
To this end, we pass the data on to the software company Emarsys eMarketing Systems AG, Hans-Fischer-Strae 10, 80339 Munich, Germany (“Emarsys”), which handles the technical side of the mailing on our behalf.
When you register for our newsletter, we use the so-called double opt-in procedure. This means that after you register we will send you an email to the email address you provided, in which we ask you to confirm that you would like to receive the newsletter. If you do not confirm your registration, your information will be automatically deleted after one month. On the other hand, if you confirm the newsletter subscription, we will save your email address for the purpose of sending you the newsletter until you unsubscribe from the newsletter.
You can revoke your consent to the sending of the newsletter at any time (without this affecting the lawfulness of the processing up to the point of revocation). You can declare your revocation by clicking on the link provided in every newsletter email, by emailing [email protected] or by sending a message to the contact details provided in Section 1.
When sending the newsletter, we use Emarsys to statistically evaluate your user behavior in order to measure how successful the newsletter is and to optimize its design. To enable this evaluation, the emails contain what are called web beacons or tracking pixels. These are single-pixel image files that establish a connection to our website und thus permit a log file analysis. The web beacons are linked with the data mentioned in Section 2.1 a and an individual ID. The links contained in the newsletter also contain this ID. For example, we can see if and when an email has been opened and which links have been clicked on. The data is stored on the Emarsys servers for 13 months and collected pseudonymously, meaning the IDs are not linked to other personal data at this point, thus ruling out any possibility of direct personal reference. You can object to the recording of your usage behavior at any time by clicking on the unsubscribe link provided in each email or by informing us using the contact details provided in Section 1. Recording is not possible if you have disabled the display of images in your email settings. In this case, the newsletter will not be displayed to you in full and you may not be able to use all functions. If you choose to display the images manually, recording will take place as described above.
The legal bases for the processing are your consent and our legitimate interests.
b) Product recommendations
As a Spreadshirt customer, i.e., if you order something in our online shop (see Section 2.2 a), we process the email address you provide in order to send you regular email recommendations for products that might be of interest to you based on your previous orders from us. We also use your name to allow us to personalize these emails. The data is passed on to the software company Emarsys (see Section 2.6 a), which handles the technical side of the mailing on our behalf. The legal basis for the processing is our legitimate interests.
You receive these product recommendations because you did not object to the use of your email address for this purpose by removing the corresponding check mark during the order process. If you subsequently no longer wish to receive product recommendations or any advertising messages, you can object at any time without incurring any costs other than the transmission costs at the basic rates. Just click on the unsubscribe link included with each email, send a message using the contact details provided under Section 1 or if you have a user account with us adjust your newsletter settings accordingly (“Account settings” - “Newsletter subscriptions”).
When sending the product recommendations, we use Emarsys to statistically evaluate your user behavior in order to measure their success and to optimize their design. The legal bases for the processing are your consent and our legitimate interests. To enable this evaluation, the emails contain what are called web beacons or tracking pixels. These are single-pixel image files that establish a connection to our website und thus permit a log file analysis. You can object to the recording of your usage behavior at any time by clicking on the unsubscribe link provided in each email, informing us via the contact options listed in Section 1, or if you have a user account with us changing the newsletter settings in your user account (“Account settings” “Newsletter subscriptions”). Recording is not possible if you have disabled the display of images in your email settings. In this case, the newsletter will not be displayed to you in full and you may not be able to use all functions. If you choose to display the images manually, recording will take place as described above.
c) Newsletters and product recommendations from Spreadshirt Shop Partners
In exceptional cases where you register separately in a Spreadshirt shop for a Shop Partner’s newsletter and thus give your consent, we transmit your email address to the Shop Partner so that it can send you emails on product offers, discounts and contests.
You can revoke your consent to the sending of the newsletter at any time (without this affecting the lawfulness of the processing up to the point of revocation). This revocation must be declared vis--vis the Shop Partner. The contact details of the respective Shop Partner can be found in the legal information section of their Spreadshirt shop.
The legal basis for the processing is your consent.
d) Text Message Promotions
Our website uses Attentive Mobile, Inc.’s services in order to offer special promotions via text message. This service allows you to click a promotional link which pre-populates a text message on your web-enabled mobile device. Sending this message acts as affirmative consent, or an opt-in, to receive the applicable advertised promotion as well as later promotions which are sent via text message to the same number that sent the opt-in. There are no additional fees associated with this feature; your ordinary mobile text messaging rates will apply to all messages sent and received in connection with these promotions.
Your phone number and any other information you submit via text message through the Attentive text message promotional system will be shared with Attentive in order to enable Attentive to provide this service to us. Attentive may also receive standard technical information when you interact with the Attentive service, including browser and device information such as unique device identifiers, internet protocol (IP) addresses (which may identify your general geographic location), browser types, and the date and time. Attentive also receives information about your interactions with Attentive’s service and Spreadshirt’s websites that incorporate the Attentive service, such as which pages you visited and how much time was spent on the page. Some of this information is collected using cookies (see Section 2.1 b for more information about cookies). Attentive uses this information to provide the service to Spreadshirt and you and to monitor, evaluate, and improve its service.
You can revoke your consent to the sending of these text message promotions at any time (without this affecting the lawfulness of the processing and messaging up to the point of revocation). To revoke your consent and unsubscribe, send a message containing any one (but only one) of the following words to the same number that sends the promotional messages: STOP, END, CANCEL, UNSUBSCRIBE, or QUIT. You may also send only the word “HELP” to the same number that sends the promotional messages for more instructions on how to interact with the promotional text messaging service. If you have any questions or problems (especially with unsubscribing from messages), you can contact us at [email protected].
The legal basis for the processing is your consent.

2.7 Usage-based online advertising
Our website uses various conversion tracking and retargeting technologies made available by other service providers. We use these technologies to make our website interesting for you. The information also helps us to address users who have already shown an interest in our products with individually tailored advertising on the websites of our partner companies. We assume that the display of personalized, interest-based advertising is generally more interesting for the internet user than advertising that has no such personal relevance. At the same time, we want to avoid inappropriate and intrusive advertising.
General information about third-party advertising-based technologies and how to disable them can be found on the following websites, among others:
Your Online Choices: http://www.youronlinechoices.com/
YourAdChoices: http://optout.aboutads.info/?c=2#!/
Network Advertising Initiative: http://optout.networkadvertising.org/?c=1#!/
a) Use of Google AdWords conversion tracking and Google AdWords remarketing
We use Google AdWords, a service of Google LLC (“Google”), to use ads (so-called Google AdWords) to draw attention to our offers on external websites. In relation to the data of advertising campaigns, we can identify how successful the individual advertising activities are. In this way we want to show you advertising that is of interest to you, make our website more attractive to you and achieve a fair calculation of advertising costs.
These ads are deployed by Google via ‘ad servers’. For this purpose, we use ad server cookies, which enable the tracking of certain parameters for measuring success, such as the display of ads or clicks by users. If you arrive at our website via a Google ad, Google AdWords will store a cookie on your device. These cookies usually expire after 30 days and are not intended to identify you personally. Analysis values usually stored for this cookie are the unique cookie ID, the number of ad impressions per placement (frequency), the last impression (relevant for post-view conversions) and opt-out information (marker showing that the user no longer wishes to be targeted).
These cookies allow Google to recognize your internet browser. If a user visits certain pages of an AdWords customer’s website (in this case ours) and the cookie stored on their device has not yet expired, Google and the customer can recognize that the user has clicked on the ad and has been redirected to this site. Each AdWords customer is assigned a different cookie. Cookies cannot therefore be tracked via the websites of AdWords customers. We do not collect and process any personal data in the aforementioned advertising activities. Google merely provides us with statistical evaluations. On the basis of these evaluations we can identify which of the advertising activities used are particularly effective. We do not receive any further data from the use of ads; in particular we cannot identify users on the basis of this information.
Due to the marketing tools used, your browser automatically establishes a direct connection to the Google server. We have no influence on the extent and further processing of the data collected by Google through the use of this tool and therefore inform you according to what we know: By integrating AdWords Conversion, Google receives the information that you have retrieved the corresponding part of our website, or that you have clicked on one of our ads. If you are registered with a Google service, Google can associate the visit with your account. Even if you are not registered with Google or have not logged in, it is possible that Google will obtain and store your IP address.
- Google AdWords remarketing
Besides AdWords Conversion, we also use Google’s remarketing feature. This is a process we use in an attempt to contact you again. After visiting our website, this feature makes it possible to show you our ads when you continue to use the internet. This is done by means of cookies stored in your browser, which Google uses to record and evaluate your usage behavior when visiting various websites. This is how Google can determine that you have previously visited our website. According to its own information, Google does not combine the data collected in the context of remarketing with your personal data, which may be processed by Google. Specifically, according to Google, pseudonymization is used during remarketing.
There are various ways in which you can prevent your participation in this tracking procedure:
By setting your browser software accordingly; in particular, disabling cookies from third party providers means that you will not receive any ads from third-party providers;
By permanent deactivation in your browser Firefox, Internet Explorer or Google Chrome via the link: http://www.google.com/settings/ads/plugin. Please note that by doing this you may not be able to properly use the full functionality of our website.
By clicking on the following button: DisableEnable Google AdWords.
By disabling interest-based ads from providers who are part of the “YourAdChoices” self-regulation initiative via the link http://optout.aboutads.info/?c=2#!/ ; please note that this setting will be erased if you erase your cookies.
The legal bases for the processing of your data are your consent and our legitimate interests.
Third-party provider information: Google LLC, 1600 Amphitheatre Parkway, Mountain View, CA 94043, USA. For further information about privacy at Google, please refer to: https://policies.google.com/privacy?hl=policies and https://services.google.com/sitestats/en.html. Alternatively, you can visit the website of the Network Advertising Initiative (NAI) at: http://www.networkadvertising.org.
b) Use of Facebook Custom Audiences, Facebook Website Custom Audiences and Facebook Conversion Tracking
- Facebook Custom Audiences
Our website also uses the Website Custom Audiences remarketing function of Facebook, Inc. (“Facebook”). This allows users of the website to see interest-based ads (“Facebook Ads”) when visiting the social network Facebook or other websites that also use the process. Our intention here is to show you ads that are of interest to you.
Due to the marketing tools used, your browser automatically establishes a direct connection to the Facebook server. We have no influence on the extent and further processing of the data collected by Facebook through the use of this tool and therefore inform you according to what we know: By integrating Facebook Custom Audiences, Facebook receives the information that you have retrieved the corresponding part of our website, or that you have clicked on one of our ads. If you are registered with a Facebook service, Facebook can associate the visit with your account. Even if you are not registered with Facebook or have not logged in, it is possible that Facebook will obtain and store your IP address and other identifying information.
- Facebook Website Custom Audiences
Our website also uses the Facebook product “Custom Audiences from your website”. For this purpose, we have integrated remarketing tags (so-called Facebook Pixel or web beacon) into our website. The Facebook Pixel is a small piece of JavaScript code that provides a range of functionalities for sending application-specific events and user-defined data to Facebook. We use the Facebook Pixel to track how visitors use our site. The Facebook Pixel records and reports to Facebook information about the user’s browser session, a hashed version of the Facebook ID, and the URL being viewed. Every Facebook user therefore has a device-independent Facebook ID, which enables us to recognize users across multiple devices on the social network Facebook so that we can use Facebook Ads to reach our visitors again for advertising purposes. After 180 days, the user information is deleted until the user returns to our website. No personal information is transmitted to us about individual website visitors, and we can only specifically deploy ads to website custom audiences if the custom audience has reached a critical size. This makes it impossible for us to determine the individual identities of visitors.
- Facebook Conversion Tracking
We also use the Facebook Pixel on our website to measure the reach of ads.
This allows us to track users’ actions after they have seen or clicked on a Facebook Ad. The Facebook Pixel records and reports to Facebook information about the user’s browser session, a hashed version of the Facebook ID, and the URL being viewed. The way it works is comparable to Facebook Website Custom Audiences via the Facebook Pixel, which is already described above. Using the hashed Facebook ID, we can measure the reach and effectiveness of an ad to find out whether you are actually interested in our advertising. This enables us to measure the effectiveness of Facebook Ads for statistical and market research purposes. For us, the data used is not personally identifiable.
You can prevent Facebook from recording your data on this website by clicking here: DisableEnable Facebook Custom Audiences, Facebook Website Custom Audiences and Facebook Conversion Tracking. How to prevent the recording of your data on other websites is explained on the respective sites, and if you are a user who has logged in to Facebook, here: https://www.facebook.com/settings/?tab=ads#_.
The legal bases for the processing of data when using the functions specified above are your consent and our legitimate interests.
Third-party provider information: Facebook, Inc., 1 Hacker Way, Menlo Park, CA 94025, USA. For more information about data processing by Facebook, please refer to Facebook’s privacy policy: https://www.facebook.com/about/privacy.
c) Use of LinkedIn conversion tracking and retargeting
- LinkedIn conversion tracking
Our website uses the feature “LinkedIn conversion tracking” from LinkedIn Corporation (“LinkedIn”) to measure the reach of ads. This is to determine how successful individual advertising activities are on LinkedIn. Our intention here is to develop and display advertising that is of interest to you and make our website more attractive. For this purpose, the LinkedIn Insight Tag is integrated into our website. This JavaScript code enables LinkedIn to use cookies to collect pseudonymous data about your visit and the use of our website (e.g. about the browser session and the website displayed) and to provide us with aggregated, non-personal statistics on this basis. This allows us to trace the actions that have taken place after a LinkedIn ad has been viewed or clicked on.
- LinkedIn website retargeting
Our website also uses the “LinkedIn website retargeting” feature. After visiting our website, this feature makes it possible to show you our ads when you continue to use the internet. Our intention here is to show you ads that are of interest to you. This is done by means of a cookie stored in your browser (see above for more information), which is used to record and evaluate your usage behavior. No personal information is transmitted to us about individual website visitors, and we can only specifically deploy ads to website custom audiences if the custom audience has reached a critical size. This makes it impossible for us to determine the individual identities of visitors.
There are various ways in which you can disable this tracking. You can adjust your browser settings to prevent the storage of cookies, although this may result in a restriction of the functionality of our website for you. You also can prevent LinkedIn from recording your data on this website by clicking here: DisableEnable LinkedIn conversion tracking and website retargeting. d) Use of Bing Ads Conversion Tracking and remarketing
- Bing Ads Conversion Tracking
Our website also uses the “Bing Ads Conversion Tracking” feature from Microsoft Corporation ("Microsoft") to measure the reach of ads. This is to determine how successful our individual advertising activities are on Bing and Yahoo. Our intention here is to develop and display advertising that is of interest to you and make our website more attractive. For this purpose, Microsoft’s UET tag (Universal Event Tracking tag) is integrated into our website. This JavaScript code enables Microsoft to use cookies to collect pseudonymous data about your visit and the use of our website (e.g. about the browser session and the website displayed) and to provide us with aggregated, non-personal statistics on this basis (e.g. how many visitors have reached a particular target page). This allows us to trace the actions that have taken place after an ad has been viewed or clicked on Bing or Yahoo.
- Bing Ads remarketing
Our online offering also uses the “Bing Ads remarketing” feature. After visiting our website, this feature allows us to show you our ads when you continue to use the internet.
You also can prevent Microsoft from recording your data on this website by clicking here: DisableEnable Bing Ads Conversion Tracking and Remarketing. e) Use of Twitter Ads conversion tracking
Our website also uses the “Twitter Ads conversion tracking” feature from Twitter, Inc. (“Twitter”) to measure the reach of ads. This is to determine how successful our individual tweets and advertising activities are on Twitter. Our intention here is to develop and display advertising that is of interest to you and make our website more attractive. For this purpose, a conversion tag is integrated into our website. This JavaScript code enables Twitter to use cookies to collect pseudonymous data about your visit and the use of our website (e.g. about the browser session and the website displayed) and to provide us with aggregated, non-personal statistics on this basis (e.g. how many visitors have reached a particular target page). This allows us to trace the actions that have taken place after a tweet or an ad has been viewed or clicked on.

f) Use of Webgains tracking
In addition, we use a plug-in of the international affiliate network Webgains, which is provided by ad pepper media GmbH (“Webgains”). This enables us to measure the success of our ads on partner sites brokered for us by Webgains. In this way we want to show you advertising that is of interest to you, make our website more attractive to you and achieve a fair calculation of advertising costs. For this purpose, a tracking code is integrated into our site. This code enables Webgains to collect pseudonymous data about your visit and the use of our online offer via cookies and make aggregated, non-personal statistics available to us on this basis, in particular about how many visitors of a certain partner site have ordered something from us after clicking on our advertisement.
There are various ways in which you can disable this tracking. You can adjust your browser settings to prevent the storage of cookies, although this may result in a restriction of the functionality of our website for you. g) Use of features by Spreadshirt’s Shop Partners
Our partners can also use a Facebook Pixel (see Section 2.7 b for a detailed explanation) in their Spreadshirt shops themselves, as a rule in order to be able to show you advertising on Facebook that is of interest to you after your visit to their shop, or in order to measure the reach of ads and in turn make their products more attractive. In this case, they determine the purposes and means of processing personal data. The name and contact details of our partners are stored in the legal information section of the respective shop.
h) ShareASale
Our website uses tracking features from ShareASale, Inc. to identify the referrers of new Spreadshirt Shop Owners. This is to be able to credit referrers who introduce new people to our Spreadshop service. For this purpose, if you come to our website from a link containing ShareASale tracking features, a cookie is placed on your computer which enables ShareASale to attribute your signup to the referrer. This allows us to improve our strategies for promoting our Spreadshop service to potential users.

Facebook marketing will turn your followers into new customers. Unfortunately, sharing your products on Facebook may result in faulty image displays, meaning your productsdon'tget the limelight they deserve. Facebooks image crawler is at fault.
When does it happen?
If you or a friend of yours shares a product link on Facebook, the preview of your post (and the post itself) will only show meta data, not the product photos.
Whats the problem?
Facebooks crawler doesn't know your images, meaning these images have never been posted or shared before. This is when Facebook displays an empty standard preview instead. Pages with very high traffic and high sharing rates seem to be less affected by this behaviour.
Whats the solution?
To get around the problem with Facebook's image crawler, two solutions are available. If you have integrated your Shop into a website, only the second solution works for you.
View the product in the Spreadshop you want to share. Click on the Facebook share icon and remember to close the window that now opens. Even if you cancel the sharing feature, the product photos are still processed in Facebook's databases. That way, they will be available the next time you want to share them. You can now click on the icon to share your images. In case it shouldnt work, try closing Facebook and start over again.
Alternatively, you can work around the problem if you do without the "share feature and create an independent post directly on Facebook. The best way to insert your product images is to copy and paste them directly into the post. All the content will then be displayed correctly. You should use this workaround if you run an integrated shop. You can also use Placeit's service to get the best out of your products for social-media sharing.
