Catherine Schefer — Senior Vice President of Operations at Stantec

Ms. Catherine Schefer, also known as Cath, has been Senior Vice President of Operations at Stantec Inc. since January 2018. Ms. Schefer served as Executive Vice President of Global Operations of Stantec Inc. since 2018. Ms. Schefer is responsible for all projects and programmes of work in the UK and Europe. In addition, she oversees the running of a Stantec off-shore design and resource centre in Pune, India, where we deliver both engineering design and functional support services to global operations. She has been Managing Director of U.K. at MWH Global, Inc since September 29, 2016. She also serves as Managing Director of MWH Europe-Africa Region and MWH Pune Operation in India. She joined MWH in 1999. She was appointed as director for the northwest region of the U.K. in 2008 and then as director of design for Europe-Africa in 2010. Ms. Schefer was responsible for re-structuring the Europe-Africa region and setting up a design group with the aim of improving efficiency, consistency and quality of design across the region (and ultimately across the globe). Diverse in her range of skills, Ms. Schefer has more than 27 years of experience in design, construction and programme management of water and wastewater infrastructure projects, having worked for both client and consulting/contracting organizations in the water utility arena. Her key skills lie in operational and client management; she's been responsible for the successful bidding, mobilization, and management of multimillion-dollar work programs as well as the general management of large, multidisciplinary teams. A large part of her role involved working with her global counterparts in Americas, Asia-Pacific and India to encourage cross regional working and knowledge sharing. She has been a Non-Executive Director at Manchester Airports Holdings Limited since September 29, 2016. She has been a Director of MWH Global, Inc. since March 10, 2015. With a bachelor's degree in civil engineering from the University of Leeds in the UK, Ms. Schefer is a chartered engineer and a fellow of the Institution of Civil Engineers
