What do you like best about the leadership team?
Their strategic approach, and the way they are structured
Nice people, generally, though their ability to help staff projects is limited and I often feel they are stingy.
Supportive, active listeners, go out of their way to welcome new hires

They are always giving you kudos for the work you've done and are always there to listen and guide you forward.
What does the leadership team need to get better at?
They miss the forest for the trees. Stock prices are doing great, leadership is very well compensated, but employees can't make rent.
Leadership are clueless and unappreciative about the hard work the lowest rank does for the business.

What is the best part about your compensation package?
Medicare, and other extra services
The money is good and I like the money

No amount of money can fix what's rotten about working here
No option for promotion. Senior level stuck doing junior level work because they won't hire support staff.
raises should be in line with inflation at least
benefits were weak, I didnt get paid enough to pay for my degree, they let me end up homeless and declined my LTD

Good people, well intended, willing to work hard most of the time. Good skip sets and expertise, if you can find it.
They are supportive, positive, and efficient
We can learn a lot from each other, because we all our at different stages in our careers

What do your coworkers need to improve and how could you work together better?
Never fit in in the office. Departments didn't get to know other departments.
What is most positive about the culture and environment at your company?
I like the notion of doing what is right and putting people first, but I am not always sure we put people first when they can get better pay elsewhere and we let good teammates leave. I also like the hard work ethic, but it leads to burnout and can't be all the time, which it is.
My team sat across the USW, so we had a lot of different ideas local to our environment.
Working as a civil engineer is cool
Easy to talk with many colleagues
The most positive part is being allowed to work remotely. Less time wasted commuting and being distracted by others.
What needs to change to make the company culture better?
Everything from the top down only an entire restructure will save this company

What did you like most about the interview process?
Inspiring people, interesting work with good mentors (when I started).
It was simple and easy. The interview was in person and there were multiple associates interviewing me at once. It felt like a conversation. They encouraged me to ask questions to determine if I could see myself working here.

Working on meaningful transportation projects and being able to learn and experiment with new ideas.

Doing cool civil engineering which is cool
I love the flexibility of working from home and being able to take care of my family and saving time not being on the road to and from work.

What's going wrong and how can it be improved?
Too much outsourcing to improve the bottom line. Undermining the confidence of experienced staff. Managers are focusing on self promotion.
