How's the vacation policy at Stantec?
vacations are awesome. you get your first bump at 3 years! Also it's good to have separate sick time so they don't overlap.
You can earn up to 2 weeks per year (80 hours). If you don't use it, it'll get paid to you. The maximum amount of hours you may roll over onto the new year is 20 hours.

What's the office layout like at Stantec?
open office concept, extremely loud with talking and whitenoise machines, noise canceling headphones are a requirement. This is not conducive to an office full of engineers and scientists. Collaborative open office concepts don't work, and everyone dislikes this new "open" concept
What's one thing you wish you'd known before joining Stantec?
our company was acquired, as are all parts of stantec, growth is through acquisition, less organic

at 5 and 10 year anniversaries, more vacation time. at all 5-year increments, there are increasing value of stock incentives.

Varies by office. Some have a very collaborative and supporting feel. Others are all about the money. With a focus on individual office profitability, it comes down to the success off the office as to how the culture plays out.
I am trying to get into HR and find it very difficult to do without experience. I have a M.P.A., but once again, not experience. Do you have any advice for me?
