Previously, he spent eight years at TD Bank Financial Group, where he held the role of Vice-President and Chief Accountant. Mr. Freyne began his career at Coopers & Lybrand in 1979. He has been Non-Executive Director of Birla Sun Life Insurance Company Limited since October 25, 2016. He serves as a Director of Sun Life Insurance (Canada) Limited and Massachusetts Financial Services Company. He also served as Director of Delaware Life Insurance Company. Mr. Freyne holds the Chartered Professional Accountant and Chartered Accountant designations. He holds an Honours Bachelor of Commerce degree from University College Dublin.
