Mr. Stephen Clarkson Peacher, also known as Steve, CFA, serves as the President at Sun Life Assurance Company of Canada. Mr. Peacher has extensive investment management and credit experience in North American and international markets, which includes a vast experience in managing teams, portfolios and research across a wide range of assets and strategies, including public and private asset classes, derivative markets and liability driven investing. He has been President of Sun Life Investment Management at Sun Life Financial Inc. since March 13, 2014. Mr. Peacher served as the Chief Investment Officer at Sun Life Financial Inc. since October 13, 2009 until January 11, 2016. He was a member of Sun Life Financial's executive team and heads the investment operations of the Sun Life Financial group of companies that manages approximately $125 billion in general account assets. At the firm, Mr. Peacher leads an investments team of more than 200 employees worldwide. He Joined Sun Life Financial in 2009. Mr. Peacher previously served as a Managing Director and the Head of Fixed Income from March 2005 to November 2007 and as the Head of New Fixed Income Investments and Liquidity Strategies Area since November 2007 at Columbia Management Group. He also served as a Managing Director, Chief Investment Officer of the Credit Team and Head of High Yield at Putnam Investment Management, LLC. Mr. Peacher worked at the firm for 15 years. He served as the Head of Fixed Income and Liquidity Strategies at BofA Advisors, LLC. Mr. Peacher served as a Managing Director, Chief Investment Officer and Head of Fixed Income and Liquidity Strategies at BofA Global Capital Management Group, LLC, which he had joined in 2005. Mr. Peacher began his career in the investment banking division at Dean Witter Reynolds. He also served as Chief Investment Officer and Executive Vice President at Delaware Life Insurance Company. Mr. Peacher serves as the President and Chairman of the Board of Directors at Sun Life Investment Management Inc. and previously served as the Chief Investment Officer. He is also a Director of Massachusetts Financial Services Company. Mr. Peacher is a member of the Boston CFA Society. He holds the Chartered Financial Analyst designation. Mr. Peacher holds a Bachelor of Science degree from the University of Virginia.
