  • Be a family member.

  • Be yourself, and smile. (because when you leave, the manager will ask the employees working what they thought of you...remember a manager will not hire anyone who will disrupt the harmony of their current team, so if they did not like your first impression, you most likely will not get a call back).

  • Eye contact, smile, and have confidence (even with no experience)

  • Not difficult

  • If you have a set schedule it is not difficult at all to maintain a social life.

  • I can be hard to draw the line. Most of the people who visit the store are people who live in the area, so you will get to know many people (you may already know most of them already if you are from the area) , however you must remember that work is work, and not social time.

Asked to all employees at Sunoco

  • Believing in myself and becoming confident that my journey (as crazy and tough as it might have seemed with each step) was leading me to something greater than I could ever believe. My Faith is what kept me going. Every trial and tribulation was an oppurtunity to learn. I learned all I could whether it be from books, listening, walking in the shoes of others... It didn't matter what I just had the need to learn all I could. I was given wisdom, discernment, experience, balance, patience, so much more. I learned that being me is the purpose that God had for my life. I didnt gain any fancy degrees, or climb corporate ladders, in fact to most people who dont know me, I am merely nothing but a crazy, homeless, helpless nobody. I am grateful for embrassing the struggle and am extremely proud of who I am.

  • What was the toughest situation you had to deal with and how did you overcome it? (or something similar)

Asked to all employees at Sunoco

  • Depends on the location I believe. I didn't have to do either when I started but I've heard that the store I worked at does drug tests now. No clue about the background check. I've never heard of any of the locations near me doing them.

  • No drug testing. (unless you are seeking a management position, and then yes you will be drug tested). As for background checks, before 7-Eleven bought out the company, they did discretionary checks (meaning every location can run one if they want but do not have to), however, after the buyout, I believe it is mandatory for all applicants to have a check ran on them. Hope this helps.
