Welcome to TCGplayer! We think youre going to like it here. Wed love to have you join our gaming community, but first you need to promise to follow a few rulesthis is kindergarten-level stuff, man!

    A Quest for Knowledge

Read and write about it, watch videos, absorb everything you can like a sponge and share all that you knowbut be respectful. Link back to (or at least cite) any articles or information you quote from TCGplayer writers. Dont abuse our pricing information by using a site scraper, code, script or other way of repeatedly taking shots at our servers. Respect the information and it will always flow freely. Try to corrupt it or use it for your own profit and use, and well frown at you. Hard.

    Go Beyond

TCGplayer wants to provide the best possible customer experiencealways. From time to time, we may change things on our website, update rules and content, add new promotions, prizes and giveaways, add or remove features or tinker with the product lines we carry. Well try to announce these changes in advance when we can or at least make it clear whats new, but we also depend on feedback from you guys and gals and gamers. If something doesnt seem right, let us know! If there is a feature you want to see added (or brought back), tell us! If a Seller gives you amazing service, use our feedback system to let THEM know! Wedon'tdiscriminate based on age, gender, appearance, beliefs, religion, nationality, color, creed, orientation or who you were friends with in high school. Remember, you can only be a great gamer if you have people to play with, sodon'texclude, hate on, dismiss or belittle someone for their differences. • Fees

There are no setup or listing fees on TCGplayer.com. TCGplayer only charges a fee if you have a successful sale of your listed items. We later transfer the total amount earned by your sales minus our fees via direct deposit.

All orders processed through our shopping cart system (both PayPal and credit card) also incur a payment processing fee. The payment processing fee for domestic orders is 2.5% + $0.30 while the payment processing fee for international orders is 3.5% + $0.30. If a full refund is initiated by the seller then $0.30 of this fee is non-refundable.

The commission fee for each individual product is capped at $50 regardless of product price. This fee cap is for commission only, and the payment processing fee will still be collected as usual. Example: If you sell two Black Lotus cards, each for $1,000, each would incur a $50 commission fee.

Note: TCGplayer charges fees based on the Order Total (product amount + shipping cost). We do not charge fees on taxes. However, credit card and PayPal do include taxes when determining the fee (product amount + shipping cost + taxes).

  • Shipping Guidelines for Cards

    1. PLACE CARD INTO A SOFT SLEEVE OR PROTECTOR

Place your card into a card protector or sleeve, taking special care not to catch the corners of the card on the sleeve. This can be performed by placing the card's bottom left corner into the sleeve first, then allowing the rest of the card to slip safely into the sleeve.

    USPS Shipping Information.

    2. PROVIDE CARD PROTECTION

Using material such as a top loader (a hard plastic holder) to further protect the sleeved gaming card is highly recommended. Place the card into the top loader according to the same process you followed in Step 1.

It's best to put the card into the top loader with the sleeve's opening facing down. This way, if the card does slip out of the sleeve, it won't also slip out the top of the protector too.

Sandwiching the gaming card tightly between a rigid (non flexible) material such as cardboard is also acceptable.

    3. MINIMIZE SLIDING WHILE IN TRANSIT

Placing the top loader or the gaming card that is sandwiched between a rigid material into a team bag (a clear resealable bag) will greatly minimize the chances that the card will slip and slide out of its protectors while in transit. The use of a team bag is the most preferred and professional way to further protect your product.Other methods such as taping the top of the top loader with clear tape will also work. If you are sandwiching your card between a rigid material such as cardboard, taping all sides of the material will also help the card from sliding free while in the process of being mailed.

Remember that your buyer will need to be able to unpack the card without damaging it, so try and use the least amount of tape necessary to secure the card.

    4. SHIPPING YOUR GAMING CARD TO YOUR BUYERS

Place the protected card in a bubble mailer or secure envelope, like the kind you might find in an office supply store.

As far as shipping goes, many buyers prefer you getTracking / Delivery Confirmationfor an item that has been purchased.Tracking / Delivery Confirmationprovides the date, time, and location of the delivery or delivery attempt and can be tracked online.**Any orders over $20.00 in value should includeTracking / Delivery Confirmationfor your own protection.

**Any orders over $49.99in value MUST be shipped with Tracking / Delivery Confirmation. You may also choose to add insurance for your protection.

** Any orders over $250.00 in valueMUSTbe shipped withSignature Confirmation. You may also choose to add Insurance for your protection. As part of the Seller Agreement you are contracted to adhere to, it is your responsibility to deliver the items contained within an order to the Buyer and you waive your ability to win any disputes if the customer says the package did not arrive due to not having Delivery Confirmation or Tracking. The Seller waives the ability to win any disputes if the customer says the package did not arrive should they choose not to follow the guidelines listed above.

Be sure to take the time to properly package your gaming cards so that they do not get damaged during shipping. It helps keep the card in the same state when it reaches the buyer as it was when you sent it.Never ship a card in an envelope with no protection.Cards can be damaged in the mailing system more easily if you use this type of method for transport.

Prices and services for shipping your items may vary. Please be sure to either check your local post office or review:

  • Understanding Prices.TCGplayer.com Data

Harnessing the power of hundreds of brick and mortar stores, online stores and individual sellers, TCGplayer puts together the most comprehensive Price Guide available anywhere. We serve up over four million pages of pricing data each day through our popular marketplace and via partner websites and mobile applications.

TCGplayer has APIs available for use on your website/app so you can use pricing data in a variety of ways. And best of all, TCGplayer provides commission payments for all newly referred sales that you send our way.

TCG Market Price:This price point is compiled from recent sales completed on TCGplayer.com. TCG Market Price is updated as transactions complete and reflects the best suggested retail price of a product.

Buylist Market Price:This price point is based on recently processed and completed purchases of cards through the TCGplayer Buylist. Because this metric reflects the price at which a store can purchase, receive, process, and sell cards for a profit, it reflects the best wholesale price of a card.

Listed Median:This is the median from all listed prices for a product based on listed prices only. Because of this, especially on older products with lower quantities, it can vary significantly from the actual price that people are paying for the card (see TCG Market Price ). We continue supporting this price point, but lower our emphasis on it, as its valuable data to many traders and store owners and is extremely reliable on cards from the Modern era.

    Example:

Lets look at a scenario. We'll see what the true value of the Magic: The Gathering card Moat from the Legends set is, assuming the following sample price data:

    TCG Market Price:$354.66

    Buylist Market Price:$290.02

    Listed Median:$654.72

What is the value of Moat given these data points? Some sellers have it listed (as per the Listed Median) for over $600, soisn'tthat its price? No. The TCG Market Price reflects the recent sales of Moat to be $354.66. Stores are currently paying $290.02 to immediately purchase the card from players, so the true value falls somewhere in between these two data points.

Let's discuss the Listed Median price more. Moat has a Listed Median of $654.72, almost double what actual sales (TCG Market Price) are showing. This is because only a few sellers still have this card listed. What you are not seeing is that every time a new seller lists a Moat at a price near the TCG Market Price, it sells, leaving behind cards with listed prices far above what the card will sell for.

  • Calendar IDs

How do I update the events calendar on my Pro website?

TCGplayer Pro includes your own customizable TCGplayer Pro website. If you host events in your store, like FNMs or tournaments, you may want to advertise them on your website. You can do this by adding an Events Calendar to your website using the Content Management System (CMS).

Under the Home section in the CMS, you'll find an Events Calendar page. To update this page, click on the title in the left column.

You can edit several areas on the Events Calendar page.

Page Name - the default page name is Events Calendar, but you can update this field to whatever you want (Events, Tournaments, FNMs, etc.)

Page Headline - the content displayed at the top of the page (if not populated, the Page Name will be used by default for this field)

Lead Text - the content displayed directly underneath the Page Headline

Main Content - the content displayed below the Lead Text

Menu Highlight Color - the color that the Page Name will appear on your Navigation Menu

To add a calendar to the page, navigate to the Calendar IDs section. There will be a place to enter the Calendar ID and an option to select a Color from the dropdown list. Once updated, click the "Preview" button to review or the Save and Publish button to publish changes.

Note: Under the Properties tab, you'll have the ability to schedule a Publish at date and time as well as an Unpublish at date and time. The calendar events will be shown publicly according to these settings. If you do not want to set specific dates/times, you can use the Clear Date option. If you have no events scheduled, you can either delete the Events Calendar page or add text that says "There are no events scheduled at this time."

  • listings with photos

TCGplayer aims to increase customer satisfaction by defining standards that reduce ambiguity and ensure that customer expectations are met.

TCGplayer card conditions are a great point of reference for both Buyers and Sellers. By providing clear examples of what a card should look like at each condition, we make sure everyone knows what to expect when buying and selling cards on TCGplayer.com.

The challenge is that there are no hard and fast rules regarding the amount of marks a card can have or how severe those marks can getevery card is unique. By introducing guidelines, we aim to identify the best methods for evaluating card condition.

    A consistent experience for TCGplayer.com

Any stamp, inking or signature on a card is considered an alteration, and since each alteration is unique, they cannot fit within our standardized grading. Cards marked in this way should only be sold as listings with photos.

Also, if you have a card that has sharpie or paint on it in order to cover damage to the card, it should be added as a listing with photo with 'Damaged' as the allocated condition.

Common things to look out for:

The card is not a different version than what is expected. The card must be the specific edition.

Common defects are typically okay, like when many copies of a particular card feature a uniform defect. However, most cards with print errors, ink inconsistencies and miscuts can only be sold as .

Not all cards pulled from a pack are Near Mint. Cards can be opened that have markings or damage, inking inconsistency or factory defects.

    Our Card Condition Guidelines

TCGplayer has collected feedback from players, and we've used their input to develop guidelines that address their most common concerns about card conditions.

    Near Mint

Cards in Near Mint (NM) condition show minimal to no wear from shuffling, play or handling and can have a nearly unmarked surface, crisp corners and unblemished edges outside of a few minimal flaws. A Near Mint card may have a tiny edge nick or a tiny scratch or two, but overall look nearly unplayed with no major defects or flaws.

The acceptable range of cards within the Near Mint condition include both cards with no imperfections and cards with a few minor imperfections.

    Near Mint Foil

On foil cards, wear and blemishes are more easily noticed. As a result, grading Near Mint Foils (NMFs) is fairly simple: Theycan'thave any scratches, clouding, print defects or visible damage or marks. Near Mint Foils are nearly pristine cards because its the most scrutinized card condition.

    Lightly Played

Cards in Lightly Played (LP) condition may have minor border or corner wear or even just slight scuffs or scratches. There are no major defects such as liquid damage, bends or issues with the structural integrity of the card. Noticeable imperfections are okay, but none should be too severe or at too high a volume.

The acceptable range of cards within the Lightly Played condition include both cards with a handful of minor imperfections and those with a few more noticeable imperfections.

    Lightly Played Foil

Lightly Played Foils (LPFs) show minimal wear and very few surface flaws. Any flaws such as scratches are very slight, and no major imperfections or flaws should exist. Scratches in the art box tend to be more noticeable and factor more heavily than other flaws. Foils in Lightly Played condition may also have slight fading or signs of wear or slight warping.

    Moderately Played

Cards in Moderately Played (MP) condition can have border wear, corner wear, scratching or scuffing, creases or whitening or any combination of mild examples of these marks.

A Moderately Played card may have some form of a more major marking, such as creasing that doesnt affect card integrity, but not in combination with other issues such as scratches, scuffs or border/edge wear and not impacting a large area of the card.

    Moderately Played Foil

Warping, clouding, scratching and a little flaking are all fine on Moderately Played Foils (MPFs). They are also allowed to have minor border wear. As long as there are no major defects, these minor flaws are okay on MPFs.

    Heavily Played

Cards in Heavily Played (HP) condition show a severe amount of wear. Cards with less than 30% of the surface being liquid damaged are typically accepted but may be considered Damaged if especially detrimental. HP cards can have one small instance of missing ink (such as if something is stuck to a card, then removed and pulls away part of the card), along with major creasing, whitening and border wear if the card can still be sleeve playable.

    Damaged

Cards in Damaged condition can exhibit a tear, bend or crease that may make the card illegal for tournament play, even in a sleeve. If more than 30% of the card is damaged by liquid, it's considered Damaged. Cards in Damaged condition may have extreme border wear, extreme corner wear, heavy scratching or scuffing, folds, creases or tears or other damages that impacts the structural integrity of the card. (Note: No one likes to receive a card that is covered in a foreign substance, such as food, liquid or other material. Cards like these are not accepted through TCGplayer.)

    Heavily Played and Damaged Foils

Heavily Played Foils (HPFs) and Damaged Foils follow the same rules as their non-foil counterparts.

  • When does TCGplayer issue payments?

TCGplayer initiates a transfer to you for all sales listed as "Completed - Pending Payment" minus our fees. To receive payment, you must have a valid bank account in the U.S. Payments are scheduled via a transfer to your account every Monday & Thursday, typically appearing in your account after four business days (dependent upon your banking institution).

A sale is listed as "Completed - Pending Payment" when it meets one of the following criteria:

If your tracking number can be Confirmed as Delivered then your sale will be listed as "Completed - Pending Payment" 24 hours after delivery.

If your tracking number cannot be Confirmed as Delivered or if you shipped the order without tracking, then your sale will be listed as "Completed - Pending Payment" 24 hours after the expected delivery date (EDD). For domestic orders, the EDD is typically set to eight business days after you confirm shipment on the order. For international orders, the EDD is set to 21 days.

However, if an order is under review due to a buyer dispute, the associated funds for a "Completed - Pending Payment" order will be temporarily held until the outcome is decided. You may not receive payment for an order under review. For orders that have already been paid, an equivalent amount of funds will be held back from future deposits until the outcome of the claim is decided.

Presale orders follow the regular payment schedule listed above. However, you will not be eligible for payment until after the release date has passed. For more information, read about our Presale program.

If you ship to international destinations, orders sent to locations outside of the United States are payable 21 days after the order is marked as shipped.

  • Player Trade-In/Buylist Terms of Service

In order to sell products through the Buylist (also known as "TCGplayer Trade-In") on TCGplayer.com (the Site), you must agree to the Player Buylist Terms of Service outlined below in addition to our Privacy Policy and any other terms and conditions on the Site. By participating in the Buylist program, you agree to be bound by all terms and conditions of this agreement.

The Site is operated by TCGplayer, Inc. (TCGplayer), which reserves the right to make changes to this Player Buylist Agreement at any time. Changes to this Player Buylist Agreement are effective when the changes are posted to the Site. Continued participation in the Buylist program constitutes your agreement to any changes or additions. It is your responsibility to review the changes and decide if you want to continue to use our service. Changes to the Player Buylist Agreement may occur without notice to you.

Products and Prices may be added, updated or removed at any time without notice.

    THE BUYLIST

TCGplayer provides the Buylist Program as an online service that allows Players to sell their products to many Stores in one simple transaction. Players create Buylist Offers by adding products they would like to sell to their Buylist Cart and viewing available pricing. The Player can then choose which products to sell through the Buylist. The Player delivers these products to TCGplayer, which then acts to confirm and receive these products on behalf of the Store. Our service provides a platform for these transactions to take place.

    ACCOUNT SETUP

You must login with an existing account or complete the Site registration process to create an account with a username and password (the Account). In addition, to participate in the Buylist Program a Player must review the program documentation and opt-in to the Buylist Program along with its relevant Terms of Service and submit information such as address, phone number, and payment method details.

Please see our Privacy Policy for our account and usage terms of service.

    ELIGIBILITY REQUIREMENTS

Selling products through the TCGplayer Buylist is limited to parties that can lawfully enter into a contract. Minors are not allowed to participate in the Buylist program. Players must be a resident of the United States to participate in the Buylist program.

TCGplayer reserves the right to refuse service to anyone at any time for any reason.

    SHIPPING EXPECTATIONS

All Buylist Offers should arrive to TCGplayer within 96hrs. Failure to have a Buylist Offer arrive to TCGplayer within that time frame will result in the Buylist Offer being re-priced at current available Buylist market prices.

Please carefully read our Shipping Guidelines. It is a Player's responsibility to deliver the products contained within an Buylist Offer to TCGplayer. The Player waives the ability to win any disputes if the package does not arrive or is damaged during shipment to TCGplayer. The Player accepts that TCGplayer is not at fault for any shipments lost on route to TCGplayer. It is the duty of the Player to ensure safe arrival of their Buylist Offer.

    PLAYER RESTRICTIONS

A Player is assigned a Buylist Level, which is used to define the number of open Buylist Offers a Player may have, and place a limit on the number of products as well as value of products for a Buylist Offer. Over time a Player will have these limits increased as they successfully sell more products through the Buylist. This level is tied to the quality of shipments received by TCGplayer, which consists of products being sorted in the correct order, products arriving in the expected condition, and having all products delivered as detailed in the Buylist Offer. The Player should be as accurate as possible in order to elevate through the Buylist levels. TCGplayer reserves the right to demote Buylist levels for Players who submit inaccurate Offers to the Buylist Program.

Players are required to sell products at the prices contained within the Buylist Offer at the time it was created, or at the recalculated prices offered should the products arrive outside of our 96-hour time frame.

By creating a Buylist Offer, a Player confirms that they have the right to sell the product and the product is in their possession. Players are not allowed to drop ship or sell products they do not physically possess.

    APPROVAL LOOP

When a Player's Buylist offer arrives at TCGplayer, it is processed for content and condition integrity. We will proceed with processing your order based on your selection of "Automatically Accept Any Adjustments" and "Automatically Reject Any Adjustments".

Should there be no discrepancies for card quantity and condition, the offer is approved and the initial locked-in pricing will apply, unless the offer has been received past the 6 day due date. If there is a discrepancy due to condition, damage, incorrect set/printing or otherwise, TCGplayer will revise the offered prices for products that do not match our expected condition from the Buylist Offer. Based on a Player's selected preferences, this revision will result in the Player having their offer approved at the new pricing if they have "Automatically Accept Any Adjustments" selected. If the Player has selected"Automatically Reject Any Adjustments" we will reject the products affected, and those products will be mailed back to the Player at the expense of the Player. The Player authorizes that TCGplayer can access their payment method to pay for any return shipping costs. Please note that if you have selected"Automatically Accept Any Adjustments" you will waive the ability to have the adjusted cards returned to you.

Should the Player's Buylist offer arrive later than 6 days from when it was created, TCGplayer will reprice the offer based on available Buylist market prices and proceed with the process outlined above.

TCGplayer reserves the right to reject any offer. Should the Player abandon any material via choice or due to shipping costs, the Player authorizes TCGplayer to assume ownership after 21 calendar days.

    PAYMENTS

After a Buylist Offer is accepted through our approval process, TCGplayer credits the net proceeds from the Buylist Offer to your payment method. These funds will be automatically transferred to your designated account based on our payment schedule (Monday & Thursday of each week.) Payments will be made in U.S. dollars.

By providing a payment method you are authorizing us to credit your account for all your sales through the Buylist as well as charge the account per the guidelines of the Buylist Program. Please note that the payment method you have identified must be valid in order for you to be paid for your sales. If for any reason it is invalid at the time we try to disburse funds to you, your disbursement will be delayed until you update the information. In the event of an overdraft, all fees and penalties associated with the overdraft are the responsibility of the Player.

In order to receive payments, you must open a "White Label" account provided by Dwolla, Inc. ("Dwolla") and you must accept the Dwolla Terms of Service and Privacy Policy. Any funds held in the Dwolla account are held by Dwolla's financial institution partners as set out in the Dwolla Terms of Service. You authorize us to share your identity and account data with Dwolla for the purposes of opening and supporting your Dwolla account, and you are responsible for the accuracy and completeness of that data. You understand that you will access and manage your Dwolla account through our application, and Dwolla account notifications will be sent by us, not Dwolla. We will provide customer support for your Dwolla account activity, and can be reached at [email protected] for any questions.

As a security measure, TCGplayer may, but is not required to, impose transaction limits on some or all Players relating to the value of any transaction, disbursement, or adjustment, the cumulative value of all transactions, disbursements, or adjustments during a period of time, or the number of transactions per day or other period of time. TCGplayer will not be liable to Player: (i) if we do not proceed with a transaction, disbursement, or adjustment that would exceed any limit established by us for a security reason, or (ii) if we withdraw from a transaction because of issues involving a Player's account.

If TCGplayer reasonably concludes based on information available to us that Player's actions and/or performance in connection with the Site may result in disputes, chargebacks or other claims, then we may, in our sole discretion, delay initiating any remittances and withhold any payments to be made or that are otherwise due to you in connection with this agreement for the shorter of: (a) a period of 90 days following the initial date of suspension; or (b) completion of any investigation(s) regarding any Player actions and/or performance in connection with this agreement. We will not be liable to Player if we act in accordance with the provisions of this Section.

    TAXES

It is the Players responsibility to remit any taxes associated with a transaction. TCGplayer is not responsible for determining when tax should be remitted.

    PLAYER BUYLIST FEES

Should there be discrepancies due to condition, non-delivery of a product or for some other reason, then the Player is responsible for the cost of return shipping. You authorize TCGplayer to deduct these shipping costs from either your Buylist Offer payment or your payment method on file.

    COUNTERFEITS

Should TCGplayer deem a card to be counterfeit, TCGplayer will notify the Player and then destroy the card.

    TERMINATION

The Player can terminate participation in our Buylist at any time by written notice to TCGplayer or by simply stopping their participation. TCGplayer reserves the right to terminate a Players participation in the Buylist at any time for any reason at its sole discretion, with or without notice. TCGplayer reserves the right to monitor user accounts to determine if policies or laws are being broken. TCGplayer reserves the right to remove or edit any content supplied by Players. Any illegal or fraudulent activity may be reported to law enforcement or other third parties. Upon termination, a Player must pay TCGplayer any fees that were incurred prior to the effective date of termination, and any pending transactions will be canceled.

TCGplayer reserves the right, upon termination, to offset against any payments to be made to a Player, an amount determined by TCGplayer to be adequate to cover chargebacks, refunds, adjustments or other amounts paid in connection with the Buylist from Player's account for a prospective three month period. At the end of such three month period following termination, TCGplayer will disburse to Player any amount not used to offset chargebacks, refunds, adjustments, or such other amounts, or seek reimbursement from Player via any of the means authorized in this Buylist agreement for any additional amount required to offset chargebacks, refunds, adjustments, or other amounts paid, as applicable.

    WARRANTY

The TCGplayer Buylist is provided as is and without warranty. TCGplayer makes no warranties of any kind, expressed or implied. We strive to provide our Buylist 24 hours a day 365 days a year, but we do not guarantee our Buylist will always be available. TCGplayer will not be liable for any loss due to our Buylist not being available. TCGplayer will not be liable for any loss due to errors in our software or the software of others that we use.

    RISK OF LOSS

TCGplayer may refuse service to anyone for any reason. TCGplayer may obtain reimbursement of any amounts owed by the Player to TCGplayer by deducting from future payments owed to the Player, reversing any credits to a Player's account, debiting the Players payment method, charging the Players credit card, or seeking such reimbursement from the Player by any other lawful means. You authorize us to use any or all of the foregoing methods to seek reimbursement, including the debiting of your credit card or checking account.

    INDEMNITY/LIMITATION OF LIABILITY

You will defend, indemnify and hold harmless TCGplayer and its affiliates (and their respective employees, directors, agents and representatives) from and against any and all claims, costs, losses, damages, judgments, penalties, interest and expenses (including reasonable attorneys' fees) arising out of any claim, action, audit, investigation, inquiry or other proceeding instituted by a person or entity that arises out of or relates to: (i) any actual or alleged breach of your representations, warranties, or obligations set forth in this Buylist Agreement; or (ii) return of any products you sell, any actual or alleged infringement of any intellectual property or proprietary rights by any products you sell, or the collection, payment or failure to collect or pay any taxes.

TCGPLAYER WILL NOT BE LIABLE FOR ANY DAMAGES OF ANY KIND, INCLUDING WITHOUT LIMITATION DIRECT, INDIRECT, INCIDENTAL, PUNITIVE, AND CONSEQUENTIAL DAMAGES, ARISING OUT OF OR IN CONNECTION WITH THIS BUYLIST AGREEMENT, THE SITE, THE INABILITY TO USE THE SITE OR THE BUYLIST, OR THOSE RESULTING FROM ANY GOODS OR SERVICES PURCHASED OR OBTAINED OR MESSAGES RECEIVED OR TRANSACTIONS ENTERED INTO VIA THE SITE.

    JURISDICTION

Any claim against TCGplayer in relation to our Buylist Program shall be adjudicated in a court in Onondaga County, New York and you agree to exclusive jurisdiction of these courts. This agreement shall be governed by New York law, without regard to conflict of laws or principles thereof.

    SEVERABILITY

If any section of this agreement is deemed unlawful, void or unenforceable, then that section shall be deemed severable and the remainder of the agreement will remain in force. Failure to enforce any section of this agreement by TCGplayer does not constitute a waiver of TCGplayers right to enforce such section or any other section in the future.

  • Shipping Guidelines

If youre a player submitting a Trade-In or a store sending in a Reimbursement Invoice as part of TCGplayer Direct, these tips will help make sure your cards arrive in a way that makes them easy for us to receive and process.

TCGplayer has a lot of experience in shipping cards, and were happy to share our best practices with you.

    1- Always in Order

Make sure you package your cards in the exact order they are listed on the printed packing slip. This is very important as it helps TCGplayer process your order more quickly and accurately.

    2- Minimize Movement

*Please do NOT sleeve every card*

No matter the package size, try to minimize the amount a card can move within the package.

For smaller shipments, secure your cards in a team bag and attach the bag to a rigid board or top loader. If you do not have a team bag you can use a clean, unused sandwich bag. Only one top loader or piece of cardboard is needed per package.

For larger shipments, fill empty spaces with packing peanuts or something similar.

*Pack your cards in a team bag with a single top loader. Always use top loaders for high value cards.*

    A. Protecting High Value Cards

If your order contains high value cards ($25 or more), you can put each valuable card into its own sleeve and then inside a top loader. All cards should then be sealed in a team bag, and placed inside a small bubble mailer and shipped first class with tracking. Make sure the cards do not have room to move around inside the mailer. *Please do NOT sleeve every card, only the valuable cards!*

    3- Practice Proper Packaging

The size, weight and number of cards will together determine the right type of envelope, mailer or box you should use to get your order safely to TCGplayer. If youre not sure what to use, look for the smallest flat rate mailer or box that will safely hold everything. Avoid using priority mail express packages though, as they cost a lot more butdon'treach us that much faster.

Find the size that most closely matches your order below

    A.Up to 50 cards

Seal the cards together in a single team bag and put them into a small bubble mailer. Add a piece of cardboard or a top loader to the package to provide rigid protection, then ship first class with tracking. Make sure the cards do not have room to flex or move around inside the mailer. Please do not put every card in its own sleeve! It is not necessary and will take a long time to process the order at TCGplayer.

    B. Oversized Cards

These should be in a top loader whenever possible, but if youcan'tfind one large enough, you can put it in a team bag first and then sandwich your card between two pieces of rigid cardboard. Use tape around the edges but not on the card itself, and then put the whole thing into a bubble mailer or small box with tracking.

    C. Up to 200 Cards

If your order is light enough by weight, you can seal the cards in a team bag, and place it in a small bubble mailer, shipped first class with tracking. If the order is too heavy, youll need to look at a small flat rate box, and use some packing materials to make sure the team bag of cards does not have room to move or flex within the box. Secure the flaps of the box with packing tape before shipping.

    D. Up to 1,000 Cards

For orders between 200 and 1,000 cards, the cards should still be sealed inside team bags, but then also placed inside standard BCW (or similar) boxes for extra protection. Put those smaller boxes inside a flat rate bubble mailer or larger box as needed. Do not ship BCW boxes alone. They must be contained within a mailer or larger box, as they are not designed for shipping or rough handling. Make sure the smaller boxes do not have room to move around within the shipping box, and make sure the cards do not have room to move or flex within the smaller boxes.

    E. Over 1,000 cards

Orders of this size usually do not fit within a single larger box, so cards should be sealed inside team bags and placed inside smaller BCW (or similar) boxes before being divided up into several larger boxes as needed. Do not ship BCW boxes alone. They must be contained within a mailer or larger box, as they are not designed for shipping or rough handling. Make sure the smaller boxes do not have room to move around within the shipping box, and make sure the cards do not have room to move or flex within the smaller boxes.

Each larger box will need a unique tracking number, and those numbers should be sent to TCGplayer as soon as possible.

For all orders going into a flat rate box, be sure to tape the flaps on the box with strong packaging tape. These boxes do have their own adhesive, but weve seen it fail to hold cards inside after getting wet, going through extreme heat or cold, or being handled roughly during shipping. For your own protection, please secure the flaps with tape before shipping.

    4- Track your Package

Make sure you include tracking on your package. TCGplayer is not liable for anything that gets lost in transit, but if you have a tracking number, we can usually work with the post office to locate missing deliveries.

*Please note that your card sleeves, team bags, top loaders and other packaging cannot be returned to you after shipping.

  • How do I resolve missing orders/packages for my customers?

If a buyer claims they havent received an order they made through TCGplayer, sellers are responsible for resolving disputes according to our policies and how you shipped the order.

    Shipped Without Tracking or Confirmation

If you ship an order without tracking information or delivery confirmation and a buyer claims the package has not been received, youll be liable if the order does not arrive by the maximum Estimated Delivery Date for domestic shipments. For First-Class Mail, the maximum Estimated Delivery Date is eight business days after the order is placed.

Shipped with Tracking or Confirmation and Has an En Route Status

If your buyer doesnt receive their package by the end of the expected delivery date quoted on TCGplayer68 business days for Standard Domestic Shipping or 34 business days for Expedited Domestic Shippingyou should submit a case with the USPS either via their Online Form or by calling 1-800-ASK-USPS (1-800-275-8777). Contact our team or escalate the message thread from the order in question for additional assistance.

Shipped with Tracking or Confirmation and Reporting Shows Delivery and Buyer Claims Item Not Received

We fully cover our sellers in the event of a discrepancy between buyer and USPS claimsfor example, if a buyer claims they didnt receive a domestic order, but the USPS reports the order as Delivered.

If this happens, follow these steps:

Contact the USPS and submit a case either via their Online Form or by calling 1-800-ASK-USPS (1-800-275-8777).

Save the case number that the USPS gives you.

We suggest contacting the buyer and giving them the case number information from the USPS sothey'reaware youre doing your best to locate the missing package.

In general, the USPS should contact you within 48 hours with an update. (From our experience utilizing the online tool, entering an email address as the method of contact has the best resultsif you provide a phone number, they will call you, but this call may arrive outside traditional business hours.)

If the tracking status updates or the USPS successfully locates and delivers the package, the problem has officially been resolved. Congrats! Please inform the buyer and/or TCGplayer as needed.

If the tracking status doesnt update, youdon'treceive a reply from the USPS in 48 hours or they say the package cannot be located, refund the buyer in full and continue through the next steps for reimbursement.

Tell the buyer to let you know if the order eventually arrives:

If they wish to keep the cards, they should inform you and arrange payment through TCGplayer (well credit you, the seller).

If the buyer no longer wants the cards, they should not open the package. Instead, advise them to write "Return to Sender" on the front and return it to their mail carrier. They should also contact you to let you know the package arrived and is being returned.

Email your case number to [email protected] with the subject line: "Missing Delivered Package Case Number," as well as your TCGplayer order number for reference.

Once our customer service team receives the case number, well credit your store for the missing package and follow up with the buyer to see if theyve had trouble receiving other orders.

As previously stated, if the package is reported as successfully delivered to the customer at a later date and they contact you asking to pay for the wayward order, direct them to contact our team and well organize a PayPal payment for the package.

Shipped with Signature Confirmation Tracking and Tracking Shows Delivery and Buyer Claims Item Not Received

Contact our team and well investigate the claim. If signature confirmation does not match the buyers or if the signature matches the buyer's and they are claiming that they did not sign for it, please follow the steps above for opening a missing package claim and provide us with the case number. If the name on the signature confirmation matches the buyers, well work with them to determine if the package was delivered to the correct address. If the packagecan'tbe located, well issue the buyer a refund and credit you for the sale as the USPS may have delivered the package to the wrong individual or location. Disputes for packages that are signed for by a freight forwarder or an agent of the buyer (e.g. receptionist, family member) will be denied. If our investigation determines that the customer did not receive the order due to a shipping error beyond his or her control, the seller may still be held liable. Note, however, that this is an extremely rare occurrence.

How You Can Reduce the Risk of a TCGplayer Dispute as a Seller

There are some simple ways to mitigate the risk of a dispute for an item not received:

Ship promptly (within 48 hours of receipt) and use a shipping method that ensures reliable delivery before the end of the Maximum Delivery Date period.

Ship with tracking information when appropriate, and add it to the order.

    Follow the TCGplayer Shipping Guidelines.

For orders over $20 in value, we recommend that you ship with Delivery Confirmation or Tracking for your own protection.

For orders of $50 or more, you must include Tracking/Delivery Confirmation.

For orders of $250 or more, you must include Tracking/Delivery Confirmation and Signature Required (inform the buyer so they are prepared to sign for the delivery). You may also want to consider protecting yourself by purchasing insurance. Please read all of the Shipping Guidelines for Cards to make sure you're familiar with the expectations for sellers on TCGplayer.

If you decide not to follow the above recommendations, this can affect your ability to win any disputes claiming a package did not arrive.

For more information, review the Risk of Loss section in the Marketplace Seller Agreement.

  • How do I process refunds?

If a customer cancels an order or asks for a refund, youll need to find it in the Orders tab of your Seller Portal to process it. Once complete, TCGplayer will send the buyer a notification email.

(Please note that per the Marketplace Seller Agreement, you are required to have sufficient inventory on hand to fulfill all orders on time.)

How to Issue a Full or Partial Refund

    1. In the Orders tab of your Seller Portal, click on the order number to view the details of the order you want to cancel or refund. You can also access the order directly from any messages you exchanged with the buyer about it.

    2. Click either the Full Refund or Partial Refund button at the top of the screen.

    3. Select the Refund Origin and Refund Reason using the dropdown menus.

Refund Origin will indicate which party (customer service representative, seller or buyer) initiated the refund.

Refund Reason will indicate why the refund occurred.

    4. Inventory Changes lets you choose whether or not you want to add the products in the order back into your inventory.

Do Not Adjust Inventory - The products in the order will not be added back into your inventory.

Adjust Inventory - After finalizing the order refund, the products in the order will be added back into your inventory. Note: You will need to enter the quantity of cards you want to be added back into your inventory. Inventory will go to Staged if there is no quantity in your Live inventory.

If youre issuing a partial refund, youll need to enter a value in the Return Quantity to Inventory column in the Order Products & Shipping section at the bottom of the page. This indicates the quantity to be added back to your inventory after you select the Partial Refund Order button. If you select the Adjust Inventory option above, you can choose the Return Quantity to Inventory column. This will default to the difference of the product value minus the previous refund quantity. It will never be a negative value. Note: If you select Do Not Adjust Inventory, the Return Quantity to Inventory option will not be shown.

    5. Click the Give Refund button.

There will be a message box to type in a reason for the refund. This is to provide additional details about the order cancellation. The message will be displayed to the buyer in the email they receive about their order being fully or partially refunded.

The fees that were taken from the order will be included in the refund amount. However, the $0.30 processing fee associated with PayPal and Credit Card orders is non-refundable on full refunds initiated by the seller.

  • How do I list card singles?

    1) Search for the item you want to sell.

Start in the Seller Portal, then go to the Inventory tab. Use the search bar at the top of this page to search the TCGplayer catalog for the item youd like to sell. Your results will display in the Product Catalog section at the bottom of the page.

Since cards often have multiple printings and vary from one printing to another, make sure you verify that the version listed in the catalog matches the version of the card you want to sell. Once you're sure you have the correct item, click the "Add" button.

    Payments

    2) Set the quantities for each product and condition.

If you have more than one copy of your card, you can add multiples of the product to your inventory by setting your available quantities. Whether you choose to add a single card or different versions of the same card, make sure you indicate the proper condition for each. Our Card Condition Guide provides a walkthrough with explanations that can help you assign this field.

    3) Set the price for the item.

You can set prices manually by entering a value into the appropriate field, or you can price by matching to a TCGplayer data point. You can match the TCG Lowest Listing, TCG Last Sold Listing or the TCG Market Price. Simply click the Match button and the value will auto-fill for you.

Dont forget to take all applicable costs into account before finalizing your price. Sellers are responsible for setting prices with consideration of fees and shipping rates. You must currently possess any item you list on TCGplayer and are required to fulfill all customer orders.

For more info, visit our help files on Fees, Pricing Guidelines and Shipping Settings.

Price and Quantity Fields for Pro Sellers

    TCG Marketplace:

Price - The price you have listed for this product/condition on the TCGplayer Marketplace.

  • How do I see my reimbursement invoice in advance?

If youre part of TCGplayer Direct, well periodically send you a Reimbursement Invoice (RI) so you can restock the cards we shipped to buyers on your behalf. You can review all the steps for shipping your RI in How do I ship my Reimbursement Invoice (RI)?

In general, you can wait until you receive your RI before taking action. However, you can view a pending RI at any time before we send out the final invoice. For example, depending on your workflow, you may want to start pulling products as customers purchase them rather than wait to pull them all at once. Just remember: your RI needs to be sent in the same order it appears in on the original RI Packing Slip you received from TCGplayer.

You can access your pending RI either from the Orders tab or within the Reimbursement Invoices (RI) section of the TCGplayer Direct tab.

The following dialog box will open and ask you to choose between exporting All Pending RIs or just Latest RIs:

  • When will I receive payment for TCGplayer Direct orders?

In general, we issue payments on the Monday or Thursday. After we receive your Reimbursement Invoice (RI) shipment, we release payments based on our normal payment process.

When you sell a card through TCGplayer Direct, the following occurs:

We collect payment from the buyer and hold it.

We ship the sold card(s) to the buyer on your behalf.

You ship a copy of the sold card(s) to us as part of your next RI.

When we receive the RI, the orders are made payable per the normal order processing requirements, 24 hours after receipt.

After processing the RI, we deduct any adjustments for missing cards or condition issues from your account. These show up as Adjustments in the Payments tab of your Seller Portal and can be viewed in detail using the View Orders link associated with each payment.

Holidays may also adjust the sending of payments. In the event of a holiday on a Monday or Thursday, we will send payments on the next available business day.

  • What if there are discrepancies in my RI?

After you sell cards through TCGplayer Direct, well send you a Reimbursement Invoice (RI) : a list of cards for you to ship us to restock our inventory, which represent the cards from your Direct orders. If there is a discrepancy in your RI shipment, we may charge your account for the cost to resolve the discrepancy.

In the event that your RI arrives with cards missing or cards that do not meet our condition guidelines, we will replace the necessary cards through another TCGplayer Direct seller so we can maintain our inventory. We will put any extra cards or cards that do not meet our condition guidelines in your Seller Extra Inventory to be held until requested or we ship it based on the current standards.

When we receive your RI, we initiate a payment for all orders per our normal payment process ( Payments ). We then process your RI, and if we find any discrepancies, we charge the cost of these replacement cards to your account. This charge will be the greater of either:

The price you charged for that card from the order in question.

The average price the card has sold for in its 50 most recent transactions.

We reserve the right to cancel any Reimbursement Invoice that does not have tracking added and in the possession of a mailing service provider within four days (or for non-tracked RIs, those we have not been notified have been shipped without tracking), and replace the cards in that reimbursement invoice following the method above.

You can view any charges associated with discrepancies in your Seller Portal within each completed Reimbursement Invoice.

If you need to communicate with us, or have any questions or concerns regarding an RI, please message us via the Message TCGplayer button located in each RI. This will expedite our ability to help you.

  • Can I use my third-party inventory software with TCGplayer Direct?

Yes! TCGplayer Direct is designed to work with your existing third-party inventory management software. If youre using solutions like CrystalCommerce or BidWicket, you can sync your inventory with TCGplayer. However, there are a few things to note about how these programs interact with TCGplayer Direct.

If youre using third-party software to manage your inventory, you may see orders come through your platform even though those orders are already being shipped on your behalf by TCGplayer. These orders will display with the following information in your system:

    First Name: DoNotShip

    Last Name: TCGplayerDirect

    Address 1: 5640 E. Taft Road #3267

    City: Syracuse

    State/ZIP: NY, 13220

    Phone: 8662429519

    Email: [email protected]

When you receive an order of this type, you can proceed in one of two ways:

You can pull the cards in the order and set them aside to be included in the next TCGplayer Direct Reimbursement Invoice (RI).

You can ignore the order for the time being and pull the cards when you receive the matching Reimbursement Invoice later.

Note: Because we require the cards in the RI to be in the same order as the invoice, including card condition, the second method may work better for most stores.

Whichever way you choose to process the order, its important that youdon'tship individual orders to TCGplayer on their own. Please include all your cards in the next Reimbursement Invoice so we can credit you correctly for the sale.

Total Qty (editable) - The total quantity you have of this particular product.

  • How do I list miniature game items?

Listing miniatures on the TCGplayer Marketplace is similar to listing card singles. Using the Inventory tab in the Seller Portal, search for the product you want to sell. Then, set the quantity, condition and price for your listing and publish it to TCGplayer.com.

    1) Search for the item you want to sell.

In your Seller Portal, click on the Inventory tab. This will take you to the page pictured below, where you can search our catalog for the item youd like to add. Simply enter the full or partial name of your item into the search bar, and your results will appear in the Product Catalog box at the bottom of the page.

When selecting from our catalog, please make sure you have the correct version of the product you wish to sellas you probably know, there are often multiple versions of a single item in the collectibles world. Once youre sure you have the item you want to list, click the Add button.

    Payments.

    2) Set the quantities and conditions for your item.

Onceyou'veadded your item, you can set your quantity and price for the given condition. If you have multiple of the same item in the same condition, you can set a quantity of 2 or greater. Each condition displays as a separate item and you should list them separately (see picture below).

    3) Finalize the price for the item(s) youre selling.

Please remember youre responsible for setting the prices of all products you choose to offer on TCGplayer.com. Youll want to take all applicable costs (including fees and shipping rates ) into account before finalizing your listing. You can enter your price for an item manually. If available for the product and condition youre adding, you can also match the lowest listing (item price + shipping) on TCGplayer.com by clicking the "Match Lowest Listing" button and the lowest amount will auto-fill the price field. (Please note that we may establish minimum or maximum pricing limitations from time to time, as dictated by product distributors.)

Keep in mind that any item you list on TCGplayer must actually be in your possession, and you must fulfill all customer orders.

For more information on pricing, visit our help files on Fees, Pricing Guidelines and Shipping Settings. It is important to note that your shipping fee is applied per order, not per item, so set your prices and shipping fees accordingly.

    4) Confirm your listing.

  • What is seller extra inventory (SEI)?

At times, your Reimbursement Invoice (RI) shipment for TCGplayer Direct may include extra cards, cards of the wrong version or cards thatdon'tmeet our condition guidelines. When this happens, we add the cards to your Seller Extra Inventory (SEI).

As a Direct seller, you have your own box in our fulfillment center for SEI. You can check the contents of your SEI by clicking the Extra Inventory link in the TCGplayer Direct Tab of your Seller Portal.

You can request to have your SEI shipped back to you at any time. Well cover the cost in the following instances:

The cards are from your first reimbursement invoice. Well send you detailed information regarding our card condition determination and highlight any discrepancies so you can have a better idea of how to condition cards when processing your RIs.

Your SEI contains more than 300 cards (and this is the first timeyou'verequested it this month).

You have not requested your SEI in over 90 days. Well just need to confirm your mailing address.

If you do not meet the above criteria, well still be happy to ship your SEI, and well deduct the cost of shipping from your next scheduled seller payment.

If at any time you would like detailed feedback for the cards in your SEI, please let us know and we will be happy to provide you with written descriptions regarding the various defects we saw on the cards to determine their condition. As with the first SEI you are sent, this is meant to provide better insight into how we categorize cards into the various conditions.

  • Your Account Security

Keep it secret; keep it safe! - Gandalf, Lord of the Rings: The Fellowship of the Ring

    Password Security

We know how important your accounts security is to you. To protect your personal information on TCGplayer.com, please make sure you create a unique password. Passwords on TCGplayermust be at least 8 characters, including at least 1 lowercase, 1 uppercase, 1 number and 1 symboland cannot exceed 100 characters. Its a good practice to avoid common words or phrases when choosing your password. We also suggest that you keep your password confidential, as sharing your information can compromise the security of your TCGplayer account.

    Login Confirmation

From time to time, TCGplayer will ask you to confirm your login information as a basic security measure. If youre using a trusted device, such as your home computer or personal phone, you can choose to Avoid this confirmation in the future. This will delay you from having to enter your information again on this device for 14 days, but please do not select this option if you share your computer with other people.

    Account Verifications

We want you to be assured that your order is secure with TCGplayer. On occasion when purchasing, you will need to pass Buyer authentication either via phone or verification refund to your credit card.

    Phone Verification

For a phone verification, all you need to do is supply us with the 5-digit code that is sent to a valid phone number. Please keep in mind TCGplayer does not accept VoIP or Pay-as-you-Go phone services for this process. If you have any difficulties obtaining or supplying us with the code, please contact [email protected] and well be happy to assist you.

    Credit Card Verification

If you need to pass a credit card verification, your credit card will be issued a small refund from TCGplayer to help us verify that youare the account holder for the card. This verification refund is a common way online stores protect your account from possible credit card fraud.

Your credit card will receive a refund amounting between $0.01 and $10.00.

Youll need to determine the amount of this refund by checking your online statement or by contacting your credit card issuer directly by phone.

In some cases, the refund amount will be bundled with the charge for the original purchase. This means youll have to take the difference between what you were charged and your actual order amount. (For example, if your order was $5.00, but you were only charged $4.90, then your refund amount would be $0.10)

Ifyou'veentered the right amount, your order will finish processing and will be sent to shipping. If you fail to respond within 48 hours, or if you enter the wrong amount, your order will be canceled and fully refunded.

Again, please email us if you have any trouble verifying your purchase on TCGplayer.com. We appreciate you completing these steps to protect the security of your account on our site.

At the end of such three-month period following termination, TCGplayer will disburse to seller any amount not used to offset chargebacks, refunds, adjustments or such other amounts paid to buyers, or seek reimbursement from seller via any of the means authorized in this marketplace agreement for any additional amount required to offset chargebacks, refunds, adjustments or other amounts paid to buyers, as applicable.

    WARRANTY

The TCGplayer marketplace is provided as is and without warranty. TCGplayer makes no warranties of any kind, expressed or implied. We strive to provide our marketplace 24 hours a day 365 days a year, but we do not guarantee our marketplace will always be available. TCGplayer will not be liable for any loss due to our marketplace not being available. TCGplayer will not be liable for any loss due to errors in our software or the software of others that we use.

    RISK OF LOSS

TCGplayer may refuse service to anyone for any reason. TCGplayer may earn interest or other compensation from the balances in our bank accounts that result from the timing difference between our being paid by a buyer and our bank account being debited to pay out credits to a seller. TCGplayer will bear the risk of credit card fraud (i.e. fraudulent purchase arising from the theft and unauthorized use of a third party's credit card information) occurring in connection with a payment transaction through our marketplace, and the seller will bear all other risk of fraud or loss that are not fulfilled strictly in accordance with the order information and shipping information that we provide you. TCGplayer reserves the right to seek reimbursement from the seller if we, in our sole discretion, decide to reimburse the buyer, provide a refund to the buyer if the seller cannot promptly deliver the goods, discover erroneous or duplicate transactions, or receive a chargeback from a buyer's credit card issuer for the amount of the buyer's purchase from the seller. TCGplayer may obtain reimbursement of any amounts owed by the seller to TCGplayer by deducting from future payments owed to the seller, reversing any credits to the Account, debiting the sellers bank account, charging the seller's credit card, or seeking such reimbursement from the seller by any other lawful means. You authorize us to use any or all of the foregoing methods to seek reimbursement, including the debiting of your credit card or checking account.

    INDEMNITY/LIMITATION OF LIABILITY

You will defend, indemnify and hold harmless TCGplayer and its affiliates (and their respective employees, directors, agents and representatives) from and against any and all claims, costs, losses, damages, judgments, penalties, interest and expenses (including reasonable attorneys' fees) arising out of any claim, action, audit, investigation, inquiry or other proceeding instituted by a person or entity that arises out of or relates to: (i) any actual or alleged breach of your representations, warranties, or obligations set forth in this marketplace agreement; or (ii) your own website or other sales channels, the products you sell, any content you provide, the advertisement, offer, sale or return of any products you sell, any actual or alleged infringement of any intellectual property or proprietary rights by any products you sell or content you provide, or the collection, payment or failure to collect or pay any taxes. TCGPLAYER WILL NOT BE LIABLE FOR ANY DAMAGES OF ANY KIND, INCLUDING WITHOUT LIMITATION DIRECT, INDIRECT, INCIDENTAL, PUNITIVE AND CONSEQUENTIAL DAMAGES, ARISING OUT OF OR IN CONNECTION WITH THIS MARKETPLACE AGREEMENT, THE SITE, THE INABILITY TO USE THE SITE OR THE MARKETPLACE, OR THOSE RESULTING FROM ANY GOODS OR SERVICES PURCHASED OR OBTAINED OR MESSAGES RECEIVED OR TRANSACTIONS ENTERED INTO VIA THE SITE.

    DISPUTES

Because TCGplayer is not directly involved with transactions between buyers and sellers, you agree to release TCGplayer from claims, demands and damages related to transaction disputes. If a dispute arises, buyers and sellers are expected to deal with each other to come to a resolution. At times, TCGplayer Customer Service may step in to mediate disputes between Buyers and Sellers on our platform. During mediation, TCGplayer Customer Service may apply full or partial refunds to resolve disagreements, any and all refunds are at the discretion of the Customer Service Team.

    JURISDICTION

Any claim against TCGplayer in relation to our marketplace shall be adjudicated in a court in Onondaga County, New York and you agree to exclusive jurisdiction of these courts. This agreement shall be governed by New York law, without regard to conflict of laws principles thereof.

    CONTENT AGREEMENT

By agreeing to the marketplace seller agreement, you grant the royalty-free use of any content you submit to us. You represent that you own any content you submit to us or you have the right to distribute submitted content. You will be responsible for any violation of rights for unauthorized content.

    Orders through TCGplayer Direct

Every order you place through TCGplayer Direct is fully protected by our Happiness Guarantee. That means 100% coverage in case anything goes wrong. Contact our Customer Service Team at [email protected] if you have any questions or issues with your order.

Making adjustments or canceling your order before it has shipped

If you need a change made to your order you should contact the seller as soon as possible after placing the order to try to have them adjust or cancel it before the order has shipped. Usually there is at least a 12-hour window after the order is placed to try to adjust some items, ask to combine shipping costs from multiple orders to the same seller or to cancel your order in its entirety. However, there is no guarantee that you will be able to reach the seller before the order has shipped.

    Refunding delivered sealed products

If you would like to return any factory-sealed merchandise after receiving it, for any reason, simply contact the seller within 48 hours of receipt. Once you are given approval for the return, return the merchandise in the same condition it was sent, and they will refund your purchase price, less the shipping charges. If the return is being made due to a mistake on the sellers part, the seller is responsible for sending the buyer a pre-paid, trackable parcel to return the merchandise. However, if an item was sent to you sealed (for example, a sealed starter deck) and you opened the item, that item cannot be returned. There are no exceptions to this policy.

    Refunding delivered singles

Due to the volatile nature of the singles market, our sellers do not accept returns on single cards. However, there are two exceptions to this policy.

    1) If you are not satisfied with the condition of any single cards you have received, simply contact the seller within 48 hours of receipt. The seller will either issue you a partial refund or ask that you return the item for a replacement or full refund. If the condition of the card is in question or the item has been damaged in transit and the seller requests it to be returned, it is the sellers responsibility to supply the buyer with a pre-paid method of return for the merchandise which includes envelope, return address, and postage. Once the seller receives the returned merchandise (in the same condition it was sent) they will either exchange the item(s) or provide a full refund depending on your preference.

    2) All orders are checked for accuracy before being shipped, but it is still possible for mistakes to happen. If you have accidentally received item(s) that you did not order or items you ordered are missing, simply contact the seller within 48 hours of receipt. It is the sellers responsibility to supply the buyer with a pre-paid method of return for the merchandise (which includes envelope, return address, and postage) or to reship any missing items. Once the seller receives the returned merchandise, in the same condition it was sent, they will issue you a full refund.

    Counterfeit Claims

Its essential that the cards youre receiving through the TCGplayer Marketplace are genuine. As players and collectors ourselves, we want everyone to enjoy their favorite games without worry. You are always 100% protected by our Buyer Safeguard. When you work with our customer service team, well ensure you receive a full refund for any counterfeit cards.

If you feel you may have received a counterfeit card from an order through TCGplayer, contact our dedicated customer service team right away at [email protected] to report it. When messaging our team, make sure to provide us with the order details for the suspected counterfeit. Well send you a prepaid mailer that you can use to send the item to TCGplayer HQ. Our expert team will review the card to determine if it is indeed counterfeit through a series of tests. If it is a counterfeit, well work directly with the seller to resolve this issue.

    Refunding Bulk Lots

If the Bulk Lot you received matches the photos, title and description shown by the seller on the TCGplayer Marketplace, the seller does not have to accept returns on those products. Keep in mind that many Bulk Lots offered by sellers on the TCGplayer Marketplace will be randomized so theres no guarantee on what you will receive.

However, you will still want to contact the seller as some may choose to approve a refund. If you are given approval for the return, return the merchandise in the same condition it was sent, and they will refund your purchase price, less the shipping charges. If the return is being made due to a mistake on the sellers part, the seller is responsible for sending the buyer a pre-paid, trackable parcel to return the merchandise.

If the condition of the cards you received does not match the product description created by the seller or you received different or fewer items than the seller advertised in their Bulk Lots product description, it is the responsibility of the seller to provide the correct items. If the seller cannot provide the items advertised, they will need to work with you to resolve the order issue. This can include a return of all of the items for a full refund once the seller receives them or a partial refund for the missing items. Contact the seller within 48 hours of receipt. If they do not get back to you, youre welcome to escalate the issue to our Customer Service Team.

    Escalated issue with a seller

At TCGplayer you can shop knowing that you are protected from any issue where your order has not arrived or is not as described. Please see our TCGplayer Buyer Safeguard for further details. If during the course of your communication with the Seller you feel that you would like TCGplayer to be involved in helping resolve the issue, you can send an email to our Customer Service Team. We will make every effort to ensure you are satisfied with your shopping experience. TCGplayer customer service has the final say on all refunds and exchanges.

1099-K is a tax form that payment services are now required to submit to the Internal Revenue Service (IRS). This affects high-volume sellers on TCGplayer.com.

If you received Form 1099-K, it means that your sales exceed both of these levels in a calendar year:

$20,000 USD in gross payment volume from sales of goods or services in a single year

200 payments for goods or services in the same year

TCGplayer will ask you to update your account(s) by providing a tax ID number, if you don't already have one on file.

IRS regulations require U.S. taxpayers to provide a Form W-9 to TCGplayer on sales accruing over $15,000.

IRS regulations require non-U.S. taxpayers to provide Form W-8BEN to TCGplayer in order to be exempt from U.S. tax reporting requirements.

  • How Do Trade-In Levels Work?

Speed and accuracy are essential when using TCGplayer Trade-In. We need to receive your items quickly so we can offer you accurate prices, and they need to be as described in both quantity and condition.

As you use Trade-In, youll be given a Trade-In/Buylist Level, which determines how many items you can send in at once and how valuable those items can be. Simply send in accurate Buylist Offers and youll be leveling up in no time.

Your Trade-In/Buylist Level is calculated from the number of completed Buylist Offers and the accuracy of the items contained in them. Your Quality Ratio is the overall accuracy in which you include the right number of cards and grade their condition. It also counts that the cards are in the same order as they appear on the packing slip.

A high Quality Ratio will cause your Trade-In/Buylist Level to be raised, while a low Quality Ratio can cause your level to be lowered. Trade-In/Buylist Levels are calculated nightly so you will see your updated level soon after you have met the criteria outlined below.

All Players start at Trade-In/Buylist Level 1. At this level:

Youll be able to make a single Buylist Offer

Your offer may contain up to 100 products

The total value of the offer must be $1,000 or less at the time of submission

If your first Buylist Offer is approved by TCGplayer with a Quality Ratio of at least 80%, youll be raised to Trade-In/Buylist Level 2. At this level:

You may have up to 5 simultaneous Buylist Offers

Each offer may have up to 200 products

The total value of each offer must be $2,500 or less at the time of submission

Moving to Trade-In/Buylist Level 3 requires 5 approved offers with a Quality Ratio of 90% or better. At this level:

You can have up to 20 simultaneous Buylist Offers

Each offer may have up to 1,000 products

The total value of each offer must be $10,000 or less at the time of submission
