Executive Bio

Ms. Anne Bentley has been Chief Communications Officer and Vice President of TEGNA Inc. since April 10, 2017. Ms. Bentley is responsible for leading the TEGNA's external and internal communications strategy. Ms. Bentley serves as an Advisor of Simo Software, Inc. Before joining TEGNA, she served as Vice President of corporate communications and Head of Corporate Communications for PBS, where she served as the lead communications officer. During her tenure at PBS, which began in 2010, she was instrumental in enhancing the organization's visibility in the media landscape. In addition to serving as PBS' chief spokesperson, she oversaw all aspects of the development and implementation of corporate communications strategy, including corporate positioning and reputation management, media relations, PBS KIDS and General Audience (TV, Web, mobile) publicity, social media, employee, executive and system communications and events. Prior to joining PBS in 2010, she worked for more than a decade at AOL. She most recently served as Senior Vice President of Corporate Communications, developing communications strategies and advising senior executives during the AOL's transformation from a subscription-based business to a global web services company. Ms. Bentley is a strategic communications professional with more than sixteen years of experience who's been on the leading edge of establishing corporate communications strategies and introducing new products to consumers most recently as Vice President of Corporate Communications for America Online, Inc. Prior to joining AOL, Ms. Bentley worked in the publishing industry at houses such as Simon & Schuster and Doubleday. She received her Bachelor of Arts degree from the University of Richmond.
