Mike Rodriguez — President of WTSP and General Manager of WTSP at TEGNA

Mr. Mike Rodriguez has been President of WTSP and General Manager of WTSP at TEGNA Inc. since March 22, 2017. Mr. Rodriguez served as Vice President and General Manager of Univision's flagship stations in South Florida at Univision Communications Inc. since 2012. Under his leadership, Univision-23 remained the highest-rated station in Miami and Ft. Lauderdale, regardless of language. He has spent nearly 20 years in the media industry. Prior to joining Univision, he spent 10 years with NBC/Telemundo. He served as an Executive Vice President of Multimedia Development & Distribution at Telemundo Group, Inc. He served as Senior Vice President of Telemundo Sales at Telemundo Communications Group, Inc. He oversaw the network sales organization of Telemundo Network, Telemundo.com and Mun2. He served as Vice President and General Manager of Telemundo 51 in Miami since August 2002. As General Manager, the station became the number one rated 11pm news in South Florida, regardless of language. He is the only General Manager in South Florida TV history to lead two number one rated stations on two different networks. He has also overseen Telemundo's flagship station in Los Angeles as Interim General Manager. He began his television career in sales at CBS Television. Prior to joining WTSP, he was the founder and principal of Fairchild Global Advisors, LLC. Prior to launching Fairchild Global, he served as Chief Executive Officer of eMerge Americas, an internationally-recognized technology organization. He has a bachelor in science from Florida International University.
