Carlos Salas serves as Board Chairman and advisor for Commerce Home Mortgage where he advises the company on strategy, governance and finance. Mr. Salas was previously Chief Executive Officer of Axos Clearing LLC, a subsidiary of Axos Financial Inc. As CEO of Axos he provided management oversight in the transition of governance to Axos Financial Inc. following their acquisition of COR Clearing LLC in January 2019. As Chief Executive Officer of COR Clearing LLC, he was responsible for management of a leading correspondent clearing firm with approximately 80 introducing broker relationships and 95,000 customer accounts.
Prior to COR Clearing he was Chief of Staff BANC OF CALIFORNIA, INC. where he oversaw the banks multiple banking/business units and provided advice on restructuring governance, management and controls to CEO and Business Management Committee. Mr. Salas received his Juris Doctorate from University of Chicago Law School and his Bachelors of Arts from New York University.
