The Vanguard Group Compensation Employee Reviews

What is the best part about your compensation package?

1.5x match for HSA and 401k match.

The best part of my compensation packages it mostly it's made it up with base salary

Review from IT Dept

Medical and life benefits and partnership bonus

The pay for phone reps is better than most in the industry

Base salary, partnership & bonus

nice benefits and flex time

Retirement benefits are good compared to base salary

10% of your salary is contributed to your 401k with a 6 year graded vesting period on top of the 4% match

Retirement savings, benefits coverage and flex plan

Fairly compensated with very good benefits.

The bonus structure, but I am concerned that it will be removed from our Sr Leadership and the past 12 months

The compensation is fair but you have to negotiate a good starting salary otherwise you will be stuck at a low compensation for years. When I joined I had people on my team who were high achievers but paid $30k less than market. It was a long battle to get them a raise!

Partnership. Paid parental leave. Cost of healthcare.

401k is 4% match plus an extra 10%

Review from Finance Dept

The cost of benefits for a family is fair

Review from Sales Dept

The company subsidizes the plans so that employee premiums are as low as possible.

I really liked what they offered. I would say everything.

The benefits are extremely good

Review from IT Dept

I believe our compensation packages are fair.

Review from IT Dept

Partnership bonus and great parental leave

Why do you feel undervalued and what would make you feel better about your compensation?

Comp structure punishes loyalty. If you join company in entry level and work your way up over the years, you will be living check to check. External hires will begin at 30-40k more for same job. Pay needs to reward loyalty if anything. Market adjustments to reflect industry. CIL adjusments!!!!!!!!!!

They tell you it’s a 37.5 hour work week but you are given 50 hours at least and many work on weekends to catch up. A lot of admin tasks that high end communicators should not be doing. Completely different skill se

Most compensation is tied to bonuses that are tied to results that I have no control over.

I know just as much if not more then the people I graduated with. And according to them we are doing the same kind of work: building API's, writing business logic, manipulating/storing/retrieving data. Yet they are being paid almost double what I am.

Give me more money for my work

It's like high school and if you're not one of the popular kids, forget having any chance of making money.

Review from Sales Dept

More pay - we don't all work in the US suburbs

I have never worked as hard as I work right now. Vanguard simply doesn't care about Crew.

Higher pay and old bonus structure. Also, keep the current medical benefits.

Only vanguard's officers have good compensation. All other employees make below average. Also, management allocate bonus more on relationship than adding core value to business. Too much focus on presentation and smooth talk.

Review from IT Dept

Keep up with other companies and pay a reasonable salary that is competitive or comparable at least

Review from Finance Dept

The pay is below industry average and not enough to live in the city where we work.
