  • Discovery is the part of the app where you swipe other users. You can turn Discovery off so that youwon'tbe shown to anyone in Discovery. Even with Discovery off, you can still see and chat with your matches.

    To turn Discovery ON or OFF, tap the profile icon > Settings > Discovery.

    Turning off Discovery only affects your appearance in others' card stacks while they swipe. Some people you have already liked may still have the opportunity to see your profile and like you back; this means you may still get new matches even afteryou'veturned Discovery off.

    Scroll down and select Restore Purchase

    'Restore purchase' helps you maintain access to your purchases when you upgrade to a new phone, reinstall the app, or in other cases where the app may not recognize it automatically.

    Restoring your purchase won't initiate a new transaction, it simply connects any existing and active subscription(s) to the app.

    To unmatch someone, open your chat with that person > tap the flag icon (iOS) or the ellipses icon (Android) in the top right-hand corner > Unmatch.

    When you unmatch someone, they'll disappear from your match list and you'll disappear from theirs.Unmatching is a permanent action.

    Reporting a Match

    To report a match, select them from your match list > tap the flag icon (iOS) or the ellipses icon (Android) in the top right-hand corner >Report > select a reason for the report. If you choose Other, make sure to write a reason in the text box.

    Once you report someone, they'll disappear from your match list and you'll disappear from theirs. Like unmatching, reporting is a permanent action.

    Super Boost

    Only Tinder Plus and Gold subscribers can access Super Boosts. To purchase a Super Boost, open Tinder > tap the profile icon > and tap the Boost button at the bottom of the screen. However, keep in mind that Super Boost is a night experience that is only available to purchase during peak evening hours.

    Once purchased, your Super Boost will activate right away! Super Boosts lasts for three hours.

    Third: Unsure how you subscribed or which account you used? Search your email inbox for "Tinder" and find your email receipt. Withthis, you'll be able to verify how/when you paid, which will make cancellation much easier.

    Try canceling your subscription on a computer by following these steps:

    Open iTunes and select iTunes Store from the main menu

    Tap View Account and sign in using your Apple ID if prompted

    Scroll to Settings and tap Manage

    Select your subscription to Tinder

    Turn off auto-renewal

    If this doesn't work, contact Apple Customer Support. We don't have the ability to cancel subscriptions processed by Apple, but Apple should be able to help!

    Cancel your subscription online by following the steps below.

    Safari (iOS):First, make sure you're not in private browsing mode - Safari will automatically block location services while in this mode.   • "Your subscription is currently tied to an existing Tinder account"

    This message means that your subscription is tied to a Tinder account that isn't the one you're currently signed into. Subscriptions can only be associated with one Tinder account at a time.

    To use your subscription on your new Tinder account, you need to delete your old Tinder account first. Deleting your account will permanently delete your matches, messages and other information associated with the account.

    To delete your old account:

    Sign in to Tinder with the Facebook or phone number associated with the account you'd like to delete

    Tap the profile icon

    Go to Settings

    Scroll down and select Delete Account. Youll see a message that says "Account successfully deleted.

    After deleting this account, log in to your new account > tap the profile icon >Settings > Restore Purchase.

    "Youve exceeded the number of times you can restore your purchase after recreating your account."

    Smart Photos

    When you enable the Smart Photos feature, Tinder tests your profile photos to make sure youre always leading with the ones most likely to be swiped right. Its pretty simple: it alternates the photo first seen by others when youre shown on Tinder, notes each response as others swipe on you, and reorders your photos to show your best ones first.

    To enable the Smart Photos feature:

    Tap the profile icon

    Tap the pencil icon or Edit Info

    Tap to move the Smart Photos slider to the right

    You need to have uploaded at least 3 profile photos in order to enable Smart Photos.

    Age

    If you sign in to Tinder with Facebook, update your birthdate on your Facebook profile and the change should be reflected on Tinder within 24 hours.

    If you sign in with phone number,Tinder doesn't offer the option to edit your age, but you can delete your Tinder account and start over. Note that deleting your account means you'll permanently lose your matches, messages, and other information associated with your account.

    Name

    If you sign in to Tinder with Facebook, update your name on your Facebook profile and the change should be reflected on Tinder within 24 hours.

    If you sign in with phone number, Tinder doesn't offer the option to edit your name, but you can delete your Tinder account and start over. Note that deleting your account means you'll permanently lose your matches, messages, and other information associated with your account.

    Gender

    Tap the profile icon > tap the pencil icon or Edit Info > scroll down to Gender.From here, you have the option to display your gender on your profile.

    TapMore totype a word or phrase that describes your gender identity. You can also select to be shown in searches which best reflect your identity.

    Sexual Orientation

    To edit or add more information about your sexual orientation on Tinder, simply edit your profile and scroll down to Orientation. Youll be able to select up to three terms that you feel best describe your sexual orientation. From there, its totally up to you whether these are displayed on your profile or not.

    Job, school and city

    Tap the profile icon > tap the pencil icon or Edit Info > scroll down to Current Work, School, and/or Living In.These are completely optional, but add a lot more context to your profile for potential matches to see.

  • "Purchase Failed. Your Apple ID is currently tied to an existing Tinder Plus subscription on a different account."

    This means your Apple ID is already associated with an active subscription on a different Tinder account. Every Apple ID can only be associated with one Tinder account and one subscription at a time.

    To subscribe to Tinder Plus or Gold on your new account, you need to delete your old account first. Deleting your account will permanently delete your matches, messages and other information associated with the account.

    To delete your old Tinder account:

    Sign in to Tinder account youd like to delete using Facebook or phone number

    Tap the profile icon

    Go to Settings

    Scroll down and select Delete Account

    Other error

    If you're having trouble completing a purchase in the app or on Tinder.com, please write to us with more information. For example, if you're seeing an error message or the app is being unresponsive, please describe the issue in detail and send a screenshot if possible. Our team will investigate.

  • If you're unable to save changes to your profile, please make sure you're using the latest version of Tinder. If you're on the latest version, try logging out and back in to the app - this usually helps!

  • Temporarily hiding your profile

    Discovery is the part of the app where you get to swipe other users. You can turn Discovery off so that youwon'tbe shown to anyone in Discovery.To turn Discovery ON or OFF:

    Open Tinder

    Tap the profile icon

    Select Settings

    Scroll to Discovery

    Even with Discovery off, you can still view and message your matches.

    Note: People you have already liked may still have the opportunity to see your profile and like you back; this means you may still get new matches afteryou'veturned Discovery off.

    Permanently deleting your account

    For security purposes, if you want to delete your account, youll need to do it while signed into the app or Tinder.com. Note that deleting your account means you'll permanently lose your matches, messages and other information associated with your account.

    Sign into the Tinder app or Tinder.com

    Tap the profile icon

    Go to Settings

    Scroll down and select Delete Account. When account deletion is successful, you'll see a confirmation message.

    Note:Deleting the Tinder app does not delete your account. If you subscribed to Tinder Plus or Tinder Gold using your Apple ID or Google Play Store ID, deleting the app and/or your account does not cancel your subscription. If you subscribed on Android or Tinder for web (Tinder.com) using your credit card, deleting your account will cancel your subscription automatically.

  • When your profile is put under review, it means that you've been reported multiple times by other users.

    While under review, we'll look for any violations of our Terms of Use or Community Guidelines. If your profile hasn't violated any of our policies, you'll be allowed back in. If we find any behavior that has violated our terms, we'll take appropriate action, which may include a permanent ban.

    If your profile hasn't been reviewed already, its only a matter of time and we will take a look soon.

    Facebook login

    If you believe someone's gained unauthorized access to your Facebook account, you may want to update your Facebook password immediately.

    Phone login

    To help keep your account secure, we require SMS verification any time you sign in to Tinder using your phone number. If someone were to attempt to access your account using your phone number, they wouldn't be able to login successfully without the SMS verification code. We highly encourage that you never share these codes with anyone.

  • Rewind lets you take back your last swipe. If you accidentally swiped left on someone you wanted to get to know, they are no longer lost in the Tindersphere forever. Use Rewind to bring their profile back and swipe again, just tap the yellow arrow icon on the main screen.

    Only Tinder Plus and Tinder Gold users can rewind a swipe, and they can only rewind their last swipe.

    To subscribe, open Tinder > tap the profile icon > Settings > Get Tinder Plus or Get Tinder Gold.
