Boosts push your profile to be one of the top profiles in your area for 30 minutes. Using Boost, you increase your chances of matching with others by getting up to 10x more profile views.

After activating a Boost, start swiping to see the results. If you match with someone while using your Boost, a purple lightning bolt icon will appear by this person's name in your match list.

Boost doesnt guarantee matches, but increases your chances even after it's ended, so keep on swiping!

iOS

If this purchase was made using your Apple ID, please verify this information with your bank and then contact Apple Support to report the issue. Apple manages all transactions directly, including refunds.

Android

If the purchase was made using your Google Play Store account, please verify this information with your bank and contact Google Play Support to report the issue.

Photo Verification allows you to verify your profile, showing potential matches youre really you. On the flip side, when you see a checkmark on someone elses profile, you knowthey'rethe real deal.

Photo Verification gives you an opportunity to make more informed decisions before you Like or Nope, and is just one of the ways we keep Tinder a safe space for meeting new people.

How does it work?

Open Tinder and tap the profile icon

Tap the gray checkmark by your name/age

Select Verify your profile to begin

Youll be shown a pose and well ask you to copy that pose by taking a selfie

Confirm that your selfie matches the pose and hit Submit for review

Repeat steps 4 & 5 one more time

We use a combo of trusty humans and facial recognition technology to compare the in the selfies you submit and in your profile pics.

After submission, well let you know when your account has been verified and a checkmark will appear on your profile.

Photo Verification is currently rolling out to both iOS and Android users in select test markets.

Discovery is the part of the app where you swipe other users. You can turn Discovery off so that youwon'tbe shown to anyone in Discovery. Even with Discovery off, you can still see and chat with your matches.

To turn Discovery ON or OFF, tap the profile icon > Settings > Discovery.

Turning off Discovery only affects your appearance in others' card stacks while they swipe. Some people you have already liked may still have the opportunity to see your profile and like you back; this means you may still get new matches even afteryou'veturned Discovery off.

No new profiles around you? Expanding your search criteria will allow you to see a wider range of profiles, especially if you're located in a remote area. To adjust your discovery settings:

Open Tinder

Tap the profile icon

Go to Settings

Scroll to Discovery Settings and try increasing the age range or search radius

If you're running into technical trouble, you can try logging out back into Tinder, which typically helps with this type of issue:

Use the Gold flame icon on your Discovery screen to check out your Top Picks.

Upgrade to Tinder Gold if you want to tap into any of your Top Picks profiles, swipe on them, or send them a Super Like butdon'tdelay after 24 hours, your Top Picks screen will refresh with a whole new set of profiles.

When you umatch someone, youll disappear from their match lis and they'll disappear from yours. Unfortunately, unmatching is a permanent action that cannot be undone.

If you have an active subscription, but the appisn'trecognizing it, follow the steps below to restore your purchase:

Open Tinder

Tap the profile icon

Go to Settings

Scroll down and select Restore Purchase

'Restore purchase' helps you maintain access to your purchases when you upgrade to a new phone, reinstall the app, or in other cases where the app may not recognize it automatically.

Restoring your purchase won't initiate a new transaction, it simply connects any existing and active subscription(s) to the app.

If the app constantly crashes, make sure that youre using the latest version of Tinder - check the App Store or Google Play Store for any updates.

If youre using the latest version, try deleting the app and reinstalling it. As long as youdon'tdelete your account, thiswon'tdelete your matches and messages.

Note: Tinder only supports iOS 10.0 and up / Android 5.0 and up.

Cancellation steps will vary based on the platform you used to subscribe. If you subscribed on your iPhone, you should follow the steps for iOS, etc.

Open your iPhone Settings

Tap your name, then tap Subscriptions

Select the subscription you want to cancel

Tap Cancel Subscription

Double-check that you're signed in to the correct Google Account

General notes on cancellation

Deleting the Tinder app from your phone won't cancel your subscription. Once you've canceled your subscription, you'll be able to use Tinder Plus/Tinder Gold for the remaining days that you paid for. Canceling a subscription doesn't retroactively refund subscription payments, and previously paid subscription fees cannot be prorated based on cancellation date.

Consumables are in-app purchases that are meant to be used once before they're depleted. Tinder offers consumable purchases that come in a la carte packages. Some of these consumables include:

Super Boosts

Consumable purchases can't be transferred from one account to another. If you delete your account and create a new one, you'll lose any consumables that you previously purchased.

Save time and aimless swiping with our Likes You feature, which lets you see who likes you. Only Tinder Gold subscribers can access the Likes You feature. To subscribe, open Tinder > tap the profile icon > Settings > Get Tinder Gold.

If you've recently renewed your Tinder Plus or Gold subscription, this won't affect your Boost wait time. The 30-day wait period is based on the last time you used your free monthly Boost, not based on the renewal of or re-subscription to Tinder Plus or Tinder Gold.

Onceyou'veused your free Boost, you'll have to wait 30 days before you can use your next free Boost, unless you choose to purchase a pack of additional Boosts.

Unmatching

To unmatch someone, open your chat with that person > tap the flag icon (iOS) or the ellipses icon (Android) in the top right-hand corner > Unmatch.

When you unmatch someone, they'll disappear from your match list and you'll disappear from theirs.Unmatching is a permanent action.

Reporting a Match

To report a match, select them from your match list > tap the flag icon (iOS) or the ellipses icon (Android) in the top right-hand corner >Report > select a reason for the report. If you choose Other, make sure to write a reason in the text box.

Once you report someone, they'll disappear from your match list and you'll disappear from theirs. Like unmatching, reporting is a permanent action.

If you've made a purchase using your Apple ID, view your payment history by following the steps below.

Open iTunes on your computer

Sign in with your Apple ID and click your name in the upper-right corner of the iTunes window

From the pop-up menu, select Account Info

Scroll down to Purchase History >See All

To see the details of a purchase, click the arrow to the left of the order date

Tinder currently supports iOS 10.0 and up, Android 5.0 and up, and the latest versions of all major web browsers (Internet Explorer, Chrome, Firefox, Safari, etc.).

Boost

Activating a Boost is simple, just open Tinder and tap the purple lightning bolt icon on the main screen.

To see how many Boosts you have left, open Tinder, tap the profile icon and check out the counter at the bottom of the screen.

Super Boost

Only Tinder Plus and Gold subscribers can access Super Boosts. To purchase a Super Boost, open Tinder > tap the profile icon > and tap the Boost button at the bottom of the screen. However, keep in mind that Super Boost is a night experience that is only available to purchase during peak evening hours.

Once purchased, your Super Boost will activate right away! Super Boosts lasts for three hours.

Technical issues?

Ifyou experience trouble while using Boost, please write to us with exact details or a screenshot of the issue you're running into.

If this started out of the blue, double-check that your search preferences are set to your liking.

Open Tinder

Scroll to Discovery Settings

If everything looks good there, try logging out and logging back in to Tinder.

If only some of your potential matches are far away,they'reprobably using the Passport feature to swipe in your current location! Please note that only Tinder Plus and Tinder Gold users can change their location.

Tinder offers free chat with other local users wherever you go! However, only users who have indicated a mutual interest in one another are allowed to chat. If youdon'thave any Matches yet, keep swiping!

We offer two methods of login: Facebook and phone number.Choose one to create an account and get started!

First: Cancellation steps vary based on platform, so make sure you're following the cancellation steps for the platform that you usedto subscribe. If you subscribed on an iPhone, you should follow the steps for iOS, etc.

Second: If you subscribed on your mobile device, make sure you're signed into the correct Apple ID or Google Play Store account - the account you used to make the purchase. If you subscribed on Tinder.com, check to see that you're signed into the correct Tinder account.

Third: Unsure how you subscribed or which account you used? Search your email inbox for "Tinder" and find your email receipt. Withthis, you'll be able to verify how/when you paid, which will make cancellation much easier.

Still having trouble?

iOS

Try canceling your subscription on a computer by following these steps:

Open iTunes and select iTunes Store from the main menu

Tap View Account and sign in using your Apple ID if prompted

Scroll to Settings and tap Manage

Select your subscription to Tinder

Turn off auto-renewal

If this doesn't work, contact Apple Customer Support. We don't have the ability to cancel subscriptions processed by Apple, but Apple should be able to help!

Android

Cancel your subscription online by following the steps below.

If you subscribed using your Google Play Store account:

Go to play.google.com/store/account and sign in to the Google Play account you used to subscribe

Locate your Tinder subscription in your list of purchases

Tap Cancel Subscription

If you subscribed using your credit card on Android:

Go to Tinder.com

Tap the profile icon at the left-hand corner of the screen

Select Manage Payment Account

Tap Cancel Subscription

Tinder for Web (Tinder.com)

If you're having trouble cancelling on Tinder.com, we want to know about it. Please write to us with exact details about the issue or a screenshot of the error message you're seeing.

If you've been notified of a Super Like, open Tinder and start swiping to find out who's Super Liked you. Their profile may not be the first in your card stack, but it'll eventually appear with a bright blue star icon. Once you've found their profile, swipe right and its a Match!

If you're experiencing delays or errors while sending messages to your matches, don't worry, this type of issue usually doesn't last very long.

There are some things that you can do to help resolve the issue on your own. Before anything,make sure you have a strong internet connection, or try switching between Wi-Fi and mobile data to gauge whether or not there's a problem with your connection.

If this doesn't help, check the App Store or Google Play Store to make sure that you're using the latest version of Tinder. Already have the latest version? Try logging out and logging back in.

Once you've logged back in, try resending the message(s).

On iOS: If a red exclamation mark appears next to your message, tap the exclamation markand try resending the message.

On Android: Tap the message itself to try sending it again.

If the problem persists, we could be experiencing some service degradation, so please try again later.

In order to use Tinder, you'll need to grant access to your device's location, at least while using the app.

iOS

Open your iOS settings > Tinder > Location

Android

Open your phone's Settings > Apps > Tinder > Permissions > Location

Tinder.com (Tinder.com)

This process will differ depending on the browser and platform (desktop vs. mobile) you're using.

Chrome (desktop):At the top right, click More (three dots icon) > Settings > Advanced > Privacy & Security > Content Settings > Location. Here, you can block or allow a site access to your location

Safari (desktop):Click Safari at the top of your screen > Preferences > select the Privacy tab > Website use of location services > make sure that Prompt for each website once a day is checked. Go back to Tinder.com and allow Tinder access to your location.

Safari (iOS):First, make sure you're not in private browsing mode - Safari will automatically block location services while in this mode. Next, open your iOS Settings > Privacy > Location Services > Safari. Once here, make sure you've allowed Safari access to your location "While Using the App"

Firefox (desktop):Go to Tinder.com > tap the information icon next to the website URL > Permissions > Location

"Your subscription is currently tied to an existing Tinder account"

This message means that your subscription is tied to a Tinder account that isn't the one you're currently signed into. Subscriptions can only be associated with one Tinder account at a time.

To use your subscription on your new Tinder account, you need to delete your old Tinder account first. Deleting your account will permanently delete your matches, messages and other information associated with the account.

To delete your old account:

Sign in to Tinder with the Facebook or phone number associated with the account you'd like to delete

Tap the profile icon

Go to Settings

Scroll down and select Delete Account. Youll see a message that says "Account successfully deleted.

After deleting this account, log in to your new account > tap the profile icon >Settings > Restore Purchase.

"Youve exceeded the number of times you can restore your purchase after recreating your account."

Updating your account info

To update your phone number in Tinder, follow the steps below:

Open the Tinder app or visit Tinder.com

Tap the profile icon

Scroll to Account Settings

Tap Phone Number > Update My Phone Number

Enter your new phone number and follow steps for SMS verification

Account recovery

If you can't sign in to your account because your phone number's changed, use account recovery to regain access:

Open the Tinder app or visit Tinder.com

Tap Log In

Select the option that asks Trouble Logging In?

Tap Login With Email

Enter the email address associated with your Tinder account

From here on, you'll be able to login to Tinder using your new phone number.

An email address and phone number can only be verified on one Tinder account at a time.

If you're experiencing any technical difficulty with email or phone number verification, make sure thatyou'veentered your information correctly and try again.

If youre not receiving the verification text, you may want to contact your mobile carrier to ensure that Message Blocking is disabled. If you're having trouble locating a verification email, be sure to check your spam or promotion inboxes.

I need to update my phone number

If you can't sign in to your account because your phone number has changed, use account recovery to regain access:

Open the Tinder app or visit Tinder.com

Tap Log In

Select the option that asks Trouble Logging In?

Tap Login With Email

Enter the email address associated with your Tinder account

From here on, you'll be able to login to Tinder using your new phone number.

Error code or technical issue

There are some troubleshooting steps you can try that usually help with login issues:

Make sure you have a strong internet connection, or try switching between Wi-Fi and mobile data to gauge whether or not the problem is related to your connection

Check the App Store or Google Play Store to see if there's a new version of the app available for download. Already on the latest version? Try deleting the app and re-downloading it - this won't affect any of your account info, matches or messages

If the problem persists, please know that this type of issue is usually temporary we may be experiencing some service degradation and ask that you try again later.

First things first, double-check to make sure you've canceled your Tinder Plus or Tinder Gold subscription. This will prevent any future charges.

iOS

Go to your iPhone Settings > [your name] > iTunes & App Store

Tap your Apple ID at the top of the screen, then tap View Apple ID (you might need to sign in)

Scroll and tap on Subscriptions

Tap the subscription that you want to manage

Tap Cancel Subscription

Profile photos

You can add, delete, or rearrange your profile photos:

Add:Tap the profile icon > tap the pencil icon or Edit Info > tap on one of the red + icons to add a photo

Delete:Tap the profile icon > tap the pencil icon or Edit Info > tap on red X icon next to the photo you want to remove

Rearrange:Tap the profile icon > tap the pencil icon or Edit Info > press, hold and drag photo you want to move

Smart Photos

When you enable the Smart Photos feature, Tinder tests your profile photos to make sure youre always leading with the ones most likely to be swiped right. Its pretty simple: it alternates the photo first seen by others when youre shown on Tinder, notes each response as others swipe on you, and reorders your photos to show your best ones first.

To enable the Smart Photos feature:

Tap the profile icon

Tap the pencil icon or Edit Info

Tap to move the Smart Photos slider to the right

You need to have uploaded at least 3 profile photos in order to enable Smart Photos.

Age

If you sign in to Tinder with Facebook, update your birthdate on your Facebook profile and the change should be reflected on Tinder within 24 hours.

If you sign in with phone number,Tinder doesn't offer the option to edit your age, but you can delete your Tinder account and start over. Note that deleting your account means you'll permanently lose your matches, messages, and other information associated with your account.

Name

If you sign in to Tinder with Facebook, update your name on your Facebook profile and the change should be reflected on Tinder within 24 hours.

If you sign in with phone number, Tinder doesn't offer the option to edit your name, but you can delete your Tinder account and start over. Note that deleting your account means you'll permanently lose your matches, messages, and other information associated with your account.

Gender

Tap the profile icon > tap the pencil icon or Edit Info > scroll down to Gender.From here, you have the option to display your gender on your profile.

TapMore totype a word or phrase that describes your gender identity. You can also select to be shown in searches which best reflect your identity.

Sexual Orientation

To edit or add more information about your sexual orientation on Tinder, simply edit your profile and scroll down to Orientation. Youll be able to select up to three terms that you feel best describe your sexual orientation. From there, its totally up to you whether these are displayed on your profile or not.

Job, school and city

Tap the profile icon > tap the pencil icon or Edit Info > scroll down to Current Work, School, and/or Living In.These are completely optional, but add a lot more context to your profile for potential matches to see.

You can only search for a specific person on Tinder if youre matched with that person.

To search for someone in your match list, tap the message bubble icon on the main screen > press and pull down on the screen until a search bar appears > type that persons name in the search bar.

Tinder doesn't have a customer support phone line, but our dedicated team is always online to help you! Since many of the requests we receive are technical in nature, they are more easily explained in writing.

Contact Tinder customer support via our help center at any time.

Also, please be aware that there are many fake customer support numbers posted on various websites, none of which are affiliated with Tinder. Tinder customer support is always available free of charge. You should never pay to have your questions answered, for technical support or help withsecurity concerns. Lastly, Tinder will never ask to remotely connect to your computer for any support-related request.

"Purchase Failed. Your Apple ID is currently tied to an existing Tinder Plus subscription on a different account."

This means your Apple ID is already associated with an active subscription on a different Tinder account. Every Apple ID can only be associated with one Tinder account and one subscription at a time.

To subscribe to Tinder Plus or Gold on your new account, you need to delete your old account first. Deleting your account will permanently delete your matches, messages and other information associated with the account.

To delete your old Tinder account:

Sign in to Tinder account youd like to delete using Facebook or phone number

Tap the profile icon

Go to Settings

Scroll down and select Delete Account

Other error

If you're having trouble completing a purchase in the app or on Tinder.com, please write to us with more information. For example, if you're seeing an error message or the app is being unresponsive, please describe the issue in detail and send a screenshot if possible. Our team will investigate.

If you're unable to save changes to your profile, please make sure you're using the latest version of Tinder. If you're on the latest version, try logging out and back in to the app - this usually helps!

Temporarily hiding your profile

Discovery is the part of the app where you get to swipe other users. You can turn Discovery off so that youwon'tbe shown to anyone in Discovery.To turn Discovery ON or OFF:

Open Tinder

Tap the profile icon

Select Settings

Scroll to Discovery

Even with Discovery off, you can still view and message your matches.

Note: People you have already liked may still have the opportunity to see your profile and like you back; this means you may still get new matches afteryou'veturned Discovery off.

Permanently deleting your account

For security purposes, if you want to delete your account, youll need to do it while signed into the app or Tinder.com. Note that deleting your account means you'll permanently lose your matches, messages and other information associated with your account.

Sign into the Tinder app or Tinder.com

Tap the profile icon

Go to Settings

Scroll down and select Delete Account. When account deletion is successful, you'll see a confirmation message.

Note:Deleting the Tinder app does not delete your account. If you subscribed to Tinder Plus or Tinder Gold using your Apple ID or Google Play Store ID, deleting the app and/or your account does not cancel your subscription. If you subscribed on Android or Tinder for web (Tinder.com) using your credit card, deleting your account will cancel your subscription automatically.

When your profile is put under review, it means that you've been reported multiple times by other users.

While under review, we'll look for any violations of our Terms of Use or Community Guidelines. If your profile hasn't violated any of our policies, you'll be allowed back in. If we find any behavior that has violated our terms, we'll take appropriate action, which may include a permanent ban.

If your profile hasn't been reviewed already, its only a matter of time and we will take a look soon.

The safety of our users is very important to us. You can report users thatyou'vealready matched with, and users you havent matched with. To report someone, go to his/her profile > scroll down and tapReport.

We encourage you to report and block any suspicious users or behavior.

If you notice suspicious activity on your account, such as messages you haven't sent or photos you haven't uploaded, there are a few things you can do to ensure your account is secure depending on your method of login.

Facebook login

If you believe someone's gained unauthorized access to your Facebook account, you may want to update your Facebook password immediately.

We encourage you to visit Facebook's security center for more information on securing your account.

Phone login

To help keep your account secure, we require SMS verification any time you sign in to Tinder using your phone number. If someone were to attempt to access your account using your phone number, they wouldn't be able to login successfully without the SMS verification code. We highly encourage that you never share these codes with anyone.

Add a little more color to your profile by connecting your Instagram account:

Open the Tinder app for iOS or Android

Tap the profile icon

Tap on the pencil icon or Edit Profile

Scroll down and select Connect Instagram

Confirm your Instagram username and password

Ah! Sorry to say, unmatching is a permanent action.

Rewind lets you take back your last swipe. If you accidentally swiped left on someone you wanted to get to know, they are no longer lost in the Tindersphere forever. Use Rewind to bring their profile back and swipe again, just tap the yellow arrow icon on the main screen.

Only Tinder Plus and Tinder Gold users can rewind a swipe, and they can only rewind their last swipe.

To subscribe, open Tinder > tap the profile icon > Settings > Get Tinder Plus or Get Tinder Gold.
