Mr. G. Sanders Griffith, III, has been the Senior Executive Vice President at Total System Services, Inc. (TSYS) since January 2008 and its General Counsel since 1988 and Secretary since June 06, 1995. Mr. Griffith is responsible for all aspects of TSYS' legal affairs around the world. Mr. Griffith provides oversight, guidance and direction regarding all legal matters, enterprise risk management, compliance, information security and business continuity. He served as Senior Executive Vice President , General Counsel and Secretary of Synovus Financial Corp. from October 1995 to January 1, 2008 and served as its Interim Head of Financial Management Services Group since February 1, 2005. From 1988 to 1995, he served in various capacities with Synovus, including Executive Vice President, General Counsel and Secretary. Mr. Griffith served as a Principal of Davidson & Calhoun, P.C. until September 1988. He joined Synovus Financial Corp. in 1988 as Vice President and General Counsel. From 1977 to 1988, he was engaged in the private practice of law. He is involved in governmental and regulatory affairs and strategic planning for Synovus Financial Corp. Under his leadership, the Synovus General Counsel's Office has initiated and developed legislation and strategies that have enhanced the financial services industry. He served as Champion of the promotions initiative of PDE. Under his leadership, the promotions strategy team developed Synovus Financial Corp.'s Leadership Expectations. Mr. Griffith has been an active member of the community for years. He serves as Director of the Columbus Regional Health Care System. He serves as Director of Regional Health Care System. He serves as Member of Columbus Bar Association, Georgia Bar Association, American Bar Association, American Bankers Council, American Corporate Counsel Association, American Society of Corporate Secretaries, Georgia Bankers Association Bank Counsel Section and Financial Services Roundtable Bank Counsel Section. Mr. Griffith studied Bachelor of Arts, Magna Cum Laude fro, LaGrange College in 1974 and J.D., Cum Laude from The University of Georgia School of Law in 1977.
