He served as Senior Vice President and Chief Legal Officer of Sears Holdings Corporation (formerly Kmart Holding Corp.) from 2004 to 2005. Prior to that, he served as Senior Vice President, Deputy General Counsel, Chief Privacy Officer and Assistant Secretary of Sears Holdings Corporation (formerly Kmart Holding Corp.). He has been with Kmart Holding Corp. since 1983. He served as Senior Vice President, Chief Compliance Officer and Secretary of Kmart Holding Corp. from 2002 to 2003. Mr. Defebaugh served as Vice President, Associate General Counsel and Secretary of Kmart Holding Corp. from 2001 to 2002, Vice President and Secretary from 2000 to 2001 and Vice President of Legal since 1999.
