Fragmented infrastructure and evolving leadership priorities make the workplace very chaotic and inefficient. Staff regularly manage heavy and complex patient volumes with very little support, requiring flexibility, self-direction, and long hours to buffer/mask systemic problems.

The hiring process with this organization was one of the most unprofessional and disorganized experiences I’ve ever had. Communication was unclear, timelines were ignored, and I was ultimately disqualified over a car accident from years ago—something completely irrelevant to my qualifications.
We help each other figure out the things we receive no training to do.

What's the office vibe like at Tufts Medical Center?
Silly, petty, hostile, not aware or wishing to know what the bedside is like. The office doesn’t go to a corridor after a horrific loss of a patient and sit for an hour before driving home at the end of your shift, because you don’t have the mental, physical or spiritual strength to move.
What are you most excited about working at Tufts Medical Center?
The other nurses and ancillary staff, but they are all moving on, other Boston hospitals and community hospitals where our expertise is considered a plus.

Behind closed doors, hiring and promoting their own inner circle. Not at all representative of the populace of great Boston.

Here, there, down the street, up the block. Hey let’s spend millions to combine it! Then you’ll see the unnecessary over lapping of work.

Nonsensical question. Can Tufts magically make a more diverse staff in highly trained areas? The only area that could be more diversified is management.
What's the Operations team like at Tufts Medical Center?
Drowning in middle management positions. Seriously, the few times they appear in the unit, we question the purpose of them. Money spent, man hours wasted in order to have committees that sole function is? But on the unit we scramble to find necessary supplies, and equipment. Thank heavens we spent the money on the toughlings and covers windows in the ER but stock units with bare minimum.
How's the leadership on the Operations team at Tufts Medical Center?
Poor, this is a hospital, I question if operations is aware of this.
