UT Health San Antonio School of Dentistry Department Employee Reviews

What do you like best about the leadership team?

Leadership Reviews

I love the level of autonomy and empowerment. I am able to lead my team and make decisions about operations that are best for the patients and the staff.

They listen to what I have to say

They are approachable to most people

Dr. Loomer and his team to include Lydia Leos are totally transparent and awesome leaders.

What does the leadership team need to get better at?

Leadership Reviews

Better recognition for a job well done, personal development and promotions for those that have worked for them.

The leadership team should treat employees well, not just say they do. Actions speak louder than words.

What is the best part about your compensation package?

Compensation Reviews

The TRS process. I have for many years said I would put money away for my retirement but I did not. The UT System with TRS make it easy for me to now save my money for me. Love the mandatory investment in my retirement.

The best part of the compensation package is longevity pay.

Why do you feel undervalued and what would make you feel better about your compensation?

Compensation Reviews

A promotion in compensation with the job that they have me performing. Other duties as assigned is a cop out and should not mean that they get to pile on other duties that do not fit your job description at all.

There are positions that have not kept up with the market or inflation. The merit increase process although fluid isn't typically enough to have an impact on what an employee takes home. The minimum salary has created a way for departments to take the "cheap" route and low ball someone.

Inflation is at a 40-year high and my pay only went up $67.00 a month. The Fed. gov. recognizes the need for higher pay, approving a 8.7% in SS payments, yet the university will not do a cost of living adjustment. UT health insurance copays and deductibles went way up!

Pay is lower than market value for job performed

What are some of the best things about your team?

Team Reviews

I always see them working and are very happy with their jobs.

Our team is small and works well together.

We listen to each other

Everyone gets alone with one another

They are collaborative and open to feedback. There is healthy conflict that comes to resolution. The openness creates a safe space to be honest and open with issues that need attention.

What do your coworkers need to improve and how could you work together better?

Team Reviews

Owning their own jobs and doing them, showing up for work, less negativity bleeding over onto other people.

What is most positive about the culture and environment at your company?

Environment Reviews

I will let you know when I find it. Right now all I see is hypocrisy

They try for diversity, but sometimes it becomes a reverse diversity

There is room for growth and improvement. There are some people who are very helpful and willing to be a part of the solution.

Outlook Reviews

I like to work from home. 99% of my work can be done from home.

Teamwork. My leaders are ready to help me. Again, the Dental School are awesome leaders and workers.

I love working with my team and being able to add value to them as a person. investing in my team and watching them grow and take on new opportunities.

What's going wrong and how can it be improved?

Outlook Reviews

I honestly have no clue. Morale is shot and I am not sure how you bring it back from where it has deteriorated to.
