Environmental Sustainability
Our impact on the environment matters. At Veeva, we are committed to promoting good environmental stewardship through our business practices, and we continue to seek ways to lessen our impact on the environment. In 2014, we made a strategic investment of more than $24 million to purchase our headquarters building, allowing us to implement a number of environmental sustainability programs that might not have been possible in a leased facility. Over time, we expect to expand these programs at our headquarters and in our other locations throughout the world.
The current environmental sustainability programs at our corporate headquarters include:
A rooftop solar power array which supplies approximately 25% of our headquarters’ electrical power requirements
Energy efficient LED lighting which reduces electrical demand for lighting by approximately 15%
Efficient water fixtures which reduce usage by approximately 20%
Low-water landscaping
Programs encouraging the use of public transportation and our bike share program
