People managers need to be people who can actually manage and provide for their people. Leaders need to be held accountable and need to communicate clearly and transparently.
Communication - this is very poor as it relates to leadership. And there is a severe lack of accountability among leadership. Bad decisions and poor leadership in product are blamed elsewhere, while top performers are allowed to leave.
Being paid what you are worth means you have a target on your back. Management would rather underpay under-skilled workers and rely on AI to deliver than to pay for the skills they need to deliver and exceed performance.
