Mr. William M. Sheedy, also known as Bill, serves as an Executive Vice President of Corporate Strategy, M&A, Government Relations & Europe at Visa Inc. Mr. Sheedy served as Chief Executive Officer of Visa Europe Limited since April 24, 2017 until November 19, 2017. At Visa Europe, he responsible for continuing successful global integration and driving growth through the European region, while continuing to lead Visa?? s global corporate strategy and mergers and acquisitions efforts, global policy and government relations. He is also responsible for charting the company?? s strategic direction and driving growth, expanding the company?? s relationships with governments and regulators globally and leading critical initiatives and transactions with clients and partners around the world, with a particular focus on Europe. Mr. Sheedy served as Global Executive of Corporate Strategy, M&A, Government Relations at Visa Inc. Mr. Sheedy served as the Head of Corporate Strategy, M&A, Government Relations & Strategic Initiatives at Visa, Inc. He oversees strategic and new business initiatives for Visa Inc., including market intelligence, mergers & acquisition activities and cross-regional and cross-functional strategic projects. He is also charged with managing the global interchange function related to issuance, acceptance and usage of Visa-branded products, as well as market research and a range of business intelligence and information management functions. He served as the Group President of Americas at Visa, Inc. since March 2011. He served as Group Executive of The Americas of Visa, Inc. He was responsible for global corporate strategy and business development. He served as the Group President of The Americas at Visa U.S.A., Inc. Mr. Sheedy served as Group President of The Americas Operations at Visa, Inc. since September 2008. He served as an Executive Vice President of Visa U.S.A., Inc. since June 2007. He served as an Executive Vice President of Visa Inc. at Visa Canada Association. In November 2006, he assumed responsibility for all financial related matters associated with Visas restructuring. He served as an Executive Vice President of Interchange Strategy - Vi at VISA Debit Processing Service. Mr. Sheedy served as the Global Head of Corporate Strategy and Business Development of Visa U.S.A., Inc., Visa Inc. and Visa International Service Association. Previous roles have included Group President, Americas and oversight of Visa's business in North America, Central America, South America and the Caribbean, across nearly 50 countries. He served as President of North America Operations and Group President of North America & Latin America and Caribbean Regions at Visa, Inc. He served as President of North America Operations at Visa U.S.A., Inc. He served as an Executive Vice President, Interchange Strategy and Corporate Restructuring Initiatives at Visa U.S.A., Inc. since January 2001. Earlier in his career, Mr. Sheedy managed Visa's U.S. pricing and economics strategies. He joined Visa in 1993 as an executive in strategy and pricing division. Mr. Sheedy served as an Executive Vice President of Interchange Strategy and Fees of Visa U.S.A. Inc. and was responsible for managing Visa pricing and product profitability strategies. Over the two years, he has led a host of corporate restructuring initiatives within Visa U.S.A., contributing to Visa's decision to restructure globally. His priorities included expanding merchant acceptance and consumer usage of Visa, while providing oversight of areas responsible for industry cost and revenue studies, merchant incentive programs and improving the point-of-sale operating performance of Visa products. His role is key in supporting Visa product and brand strategies as well as other initiatives that are critical to realizing Visa's long-term growth potential. Prior to joining Visa U.S.A., from 1990 to 1993, Mr. Sheedy was employed at First Nationwide Bank (currently Citibank) as a Senior Financial Manager in Corporate Finance. He spent three years with Ford Motor Company's First Nationwide Bank, where he was responsible for asset and liability planning and profit/expense forecasting. Mr. Sheedy holds a BS in Business Administration with a major in Finance from West Virginia University in 1988 and an MBA from the University of Notre Dame in 1990.
