Executive Bio

Mr. David Markoski CMRP serves as Senior Vice President of Performance Services at VHA Inc. Mr. Markoski is responsible for all consulting engagements with member health care organizations at VHA Inc. With 32 years of health care industry experience, his focus is organizational change efforts that improve quality, service, and the operational and financial performance of VHA members. His areas of expertise and professional skills include: Supply chain management; Physician preference management and alignment; Operations redesign and transformation; Logistics management; Project management and leadership; Financial and operational analysis; Cost reduction strategies and Benchmarking. He is an accomplished leader in health care performance improvement. He was instrumental in VHA's efforts to reduce member organizations' supply chain spend by $5 billion from 2008 to 2012 by helping them maintain or improve the quality of care. Prior to joining VHA, he served as Senior Vice President for support services at Commonwealth Health Corporation. He was responsible for quality improvement and cost reductions for clinical initiatives and supply chain management as well as development of product lines and strategic business plans. Prior to that, he served as administrator for several freestanding health care facilities and departments within an integrated health care delivery system. And he worked at SunHealth (now Premier) as a Regional Cluster Manager responsible for developing, planning and coordinating multiple supply chain programs and activities to member facilities on a regional basis. He is a member of the American College of Healthcare Executives and the American College of Health Care Administrators. He also is a certified senior in the Association for Healthcare Resource and Materials Management. He holds a bachelor's degree in Health Planning and Administration from Pennsylvania State University and a master's degree in Business Administration from Winthrop University.
